Since I had no luck at another Dominicks, I thought I’d try the one Rachel goes to (I’m stalking her – shhhhhh). So 12 of the Reeses, two 50% off chorizos and one 2L of Pepsi Max (not shown) for a total of…..$3.86. I remember the last time I paid for sausage…but that’s another story in the big city…
and i picked up another Thanksgiving coupon booklet…well, that’s something to be thankful for, right?
Just got an email from Coupons by Dede that she will be pulling all 12/31/2010 exp. coupons off today, the 27th, at midnight. If there’s something you’re getting at Jewel (special order, perhaps?) or plan to pick up, don’t forget that you can buy it now and return within the next 60 days with your receipt and coupon to get your money back. Make sure that the total you pay before coupons will allow them to give you the cash back (ex. don’t bring the total down to a buck using RRs and then look for two bucks back in coupons – voice of experience here, folks!). If your coupons expire before you return with the receipt, it’s fine, since they were current when the items were purchased.
Isn’t it nice to shop at a store where they not only treat you well and value your business, but also have corporate coupon policies written on paper (instead of shifting sand)?

picked up some more wonderful (Fannie May) chocolate toffee from Hallmark, together with this great card. Not sure, but I think it’s too good to mail. Another pound or so of fudge from Fannie May and elastic waist pants, I’m a comin’.
Wasn’t going to drive to Butera for a couple of lousy pancake mixes (especially since I picked up the free cases at Meijer), but found myself driving past there, so stopped in. You have to understand that many, many years ago (pull up a chair, it’s going to be a while…), before I drifted over to the couponing darkside, I would hit Butera ever week or two because they used to have the most fantastic “deals” on almost-expired products. 
Yes, in hindsight that’s pathetic… Check the pancake aisle and see the small containers for 1.19 and the 1.99 size with an empty space. Grab two of the puny ones and head up to customer service, where I ask to scan for a price check – 1.19. hmmm. Tell the girl that I thought they were on sale for .99. She calls someone and then starts going through the paper, but doesn’t see it. I tell her that it’s on sale in the Piggly Wiggly ad and (she cuts me off here to saw that they’re not the Pig). I know, but someone purchased it and they’re on sale here. (Again interrupt…) Sometimes the online ads are (so I interrupted her to say that if she would stop interrupting me I could complete my sentences.) Well, she gets huffy and I know she’s about to say we don’t have it on sale when an older woman comes up behind us and says “That’s the small one. It’s the larger one on sale, but we don’t have any.” So I say thank you and hit the road. And go to my nice, clean, well-mannered Jewel, where I placed a special order for another two cases of the Manischewitz chicken broth and get some more free bakery bread and bananas. -insert happy dance here- cue Peanuts song
Dominicks, sigh. All I wanted from you was a few, a precious few, Reese’s cups and some Purina One puny little bags of dog and cat food and the free Pepsi Max. sadly, it was not to be…First they told me I couldn’t use the candy coupons without buying some first (even if it works on the register) and then they tried to mark down the $2 Purina coupons to .99. Now, I’m not going for overage here, I was using 1 coupon on 2 bags, but the day they mark down a coupon and then submit it for the reduced amount...well, I’ll eat my hat. So subtract the candy…subtract the dog and cat food….give me back my coupons and oh, yeah, thanks for the Pepsi Max. Dominicks should really start worrying about their next generation of customers: the current crop appears to be roughly 108.

f any of you see something worth busting your chops over, please share… I’ll probably head over to Wags to pick up another Hungry Hippo (lots of those travel games for $4.99 – coupon expires today) and probably a couple of cans of the 2/$5 Walgreens’ brand almonds – have to use up a Jingle store cat. Nothing else looks even remotely interesting.
Deciding about Dominicks….I could see picking up more of the little tangerines, since we’re really going through them and a cheap milk, but other than that? Already bought enough crackers, so…..
Mail out three rebates and hit Jewel for another three deals? Yeah, better get there before Monday and the Attack of the Jillites…
I like to buy this stuff in the Dominick’s clearance section, usually for $1.99/package/pound, but I have seen hit .99, which is a darn sight better than the usual $5.99! Either way, sign up for their monthly email and receive a $1/1 printable (remember to hit back and print another one). Carry it with you and next time you’re in Dominicks (snigger, snigger), check to see if it’s in clearance (or what the expiration dates are on the regular stock). And in case you have room, it freezes well...
Today was a slow day for shopping, a nice day for gabbing: my delivery of the desktop aquarium giveaway turned into 2 1/2 hours of couponspeak. We met at a 24 hr. Dominicks Starbucks cafe area. A very nice change of pace. Afterward we strolled up to customer service to ask about any orphan Thanksgiving Day coupon booklets. Score! The lady opened a fresh carton of books and handed us each 2 of them, so even though the holiday is over, ask at CS if you don’t see any books. You’ve got nothing to lose but your dignity (but then you knew that going in)…
I stopped at CVS to pick up the Sierra Mist and Bliss bars. Remember, I called over there last night to confirm that 1) they were on sale as part of the 2/$1 sale and 2) they had plenty in stock. Well, I hunt all over and can’t seem to locate any Bliss bars. I ask the cashier, who points to the Dove bars…ah, no, those aren’t Bliss. He says “Aren’t they the same?” Well, bucky, if you want to give ’em to me for the sale price and take my coupon, I’ll bite. Sadly, no. If anyone has seen these Bliss bars recently in their CVS and can ask if they are on sale, please comment. I’m not that desperate for chocolate (hello, Snickers) that I’m going to drive or call the various CVS stores. I’ll return tomorrow to pick up the batteries, Olay, etc., but today, just wanted OUT!
Better luck at Jewel. My coupons came in today (five days, what’re they doing? going back to pony express?), so sorted all my receipts, stapled the appropriate coupons and headed out to pick up some more HC mixers and Eagle milk. I had read on CW that certain varieties of the Ronzoni Garden Delight pasta were on sale for 10/$10 . Well, the 10/03 S insert just happens to have a $1/1 Garden Delight pasta. woot! woot! Note that the rotini is not part of the sale, although they are all together on the shelf.
So my OOP for 14 boxes of pasta, 7 HC mixers and 3 Eagle milk? Just under 5 bucks, but remember that I still have to return with the $1.65 in Eagle coupons when I get them. So actually less than $3.50.
(I’ve changed the date to the 9th, because I looked at the ad scan and I’m not certain it starts until then. If you have better info, drop me a line) IGNORE! The deal is on starting today, the 8th. I bought these items in two separate transactions since neither the store nor any sites say you can stack. 
Note that not all items are marked on the shelf, although they all work.
I’ll admit to not following or shopping at Dominicks in quite a long time. I seem to stock up on the free stuff while my coupons are still accepted everywhere! Having said that, I read on CW that Dominicks has a Buy 5 Save 5 Sale starting tomorrow the 8th through the 22nd. It’s a Nabisco deal, so Cheese Nips and Saltines are part of the promotion, which ties in very nicely with the $1/1 coupon in the 11/14 S. Guess I’ll be heading over there tomorrow morning, since we luv Cheese Nips, and this coupon makes them free! Other crackers are also on sale, although not free (Wheat Thins and Ritz for .49)…
So you’re aware, all 11/14 S inserts, with the exception of those inserts marked “Arlington Heights, …” have the coupon (I’ve already checked and clipped mine). Many thanks to Beth3 for the info.
Went to help a friend with her shopping, and decided to pick up a few things myself…you know how that goes.
So here we have the 10 GG vegetables (free after the coupons in the Doms book), 6 Swiss Miss (Doms book), 6 Melitta 40-pk filters (10/3 S) and a bag of Beneful dog food (found cat). Total was $4.06 (!!!), but I used two $1.50 cats from the Meijer coffee deal and ended up at $1.06 which was the tax.
I really hope that those of you who need it printed out the high value formula coupon the other day… Another good one, for $5/1 22 oz or larger can of Enfamil powder. Either click here or go to the sidebar and click. While Meijer has formula on sale, their online ad only has the ready-to-use cans of Enfamil for $4.99; possibly it’s on sale but not in the ad. Anyone have any formula info on Meijer or other stores, please comment. The exp. dates on these cans are usually at least a year off and let’s face it, not likely the kid’s gonna switch to beer!
