Run to Target — Western Digital Passport Ultra just $57.00!

passportultra

Price check this one at the in-store scanner. The REGULAR WD My Passport is advertised at $57.00 this week — but the Western Digital My Passport ULTRA, supposed to be $80-$90, is ALSO ringing up at just that same $57.00 price. Great deal!

Baby you can chase my … ambulance car

ambulancewiggle

Got kids? Are they little? They want this Lil Rider ambulance wiggle car thing, just $24.00 shipped as one of today’s Target daily deals.

FirstBorn and his friends used wiggle cars for years (long after they outgrew them) because they’re FUN!

Night tripping

PITA and I were stuck in the house most of the day:  WITHOUT WATER!  I told THE BOY that it was because I hadn’t paid the bill, which stunned him for a second, until he noticed that our street was pretty much filled with heavy machinery.  Yes, that’s right.  A simple sewer deal morphed into shutting down all the water on the block from 10 am until almost 6 and DH gets spitting mad if I use the backyard bushes.  So what were we to do but clean?  How, you might ask, without water?  Diaper wipes, of course!  They leave a nice sheen on hardwood floors, get tossed in the recycling bin and smell nice.  AND they don’t require additional water…

Heavy machinery in street meant very limited access to outside world.  Which explains why PITA and I hit two Targets this late.  For your viewing enjoyment, here are the fruits of our two trips:  10 Purex crystals (I know I told you I hated that sample, MUM, but when the opportunity arose to wipe out your store, I just couldn’t help myself…); 2 bikinis for PITA, 3 Renuzit crystal refill pouches; 2 Purina One Beyond for dogs and 2 dozen eggs.  Normally my pet food is free, but I wanted to see what this new stuff was like.  It’s like expensive. Total for the above was $21.79, over $4 of which was high tax.  Thank you Pat Quinn, you ratbastard.

Here’s another couple of pictures, one of the teeny Folger coffee containers (amazon, amazon, amazon) and the crazy Purex shelf tags; the $2.99 price was the one that rang.

Dominicks and Target try, but will not win

Target update: I returned the clearance Renuzit, got back my 3 $3 coupons, bought 3 of the Crayola kits and walked out with $6.53 in my pocket.  And believe you me I know this is illogical.  Target you are so not preparing my income tax returns…

This is what happens when you shop with other people: you lose focus, end up overpaying and then have to make a return trip to customer service. At Target, I picked up 12 of the Goodlife cat food tray on a .53 clearance; used the $1/1 from 3/06r. Saw the Renuzit crystal refills on an end cap for $3, so threw five in the cart along with 3 clearance double bags reduced to $2.48 (had the $3/1 from 3/13r). Also picked up another pair of clearance jeans for $9.98, using the Target $5 coupon and what I had calculated for overage. Ended up being charged $5.29 on the three clearance Renuzit refills, which is odd because the sticker shows an original price of $4.99. Which means another trip to GET MY MONEY! So, while I paid $9.43, my actual OOP should have been $8.43 (plus tax) less. This was not the only item that we found priced differently than what scanned. Management should have a long heart-to-heart with whoever is going crazy with the clearance gun or the tv cameras are gonna roll once more…

Before I forget, I had read that Target was selling the Crayola Glow Station On the Go sets for $3.24; it’s presently selling on Amazon Crayola Glow Station On the Go Day & Night for $21.45.  Don’t believe me?  Check out the link.  Found that hard to believe, but here’s a Target picture for proof.  If you have any birthday parties coming up, this is a great way to look like a big spender for pennies.

Dominicks update:  Got all my money back on the cereal and yogurt (about $18).  CS scanned the card I used and my son’s name came up (as it should).  Chalk this one up to atmospheric disturbances.

On to Dominicks where I wanted to pick up my Quaker Oats Squares from the $1.49 deal a few weeks ago; had a raincheck for 16.  Broke it down into two transactions of 8 each and four free Dannon Greek yogurts that are on my Just4U card; threw in a bag of bananas for the house monkey.  The total, after the 8 mfr coupons and one $10 RR was $2.02; looking at the receipt at home, it shows that the cashier took off .51 for each cereal.  Since the ring price was $2.71, subtract .51 and you’re paying 2.20.  So now they owe me an additional .71 for each box ($5.68). The yogurt did come off.  So this first order owes me $5.68 plus tax.

Next order I used my son’s card, since I had activated the yogurt on his.  The yogurt did not come off, I was charged $2.20 for the cereal and the kicker?  The name on the receipt shows the card owner is Maria Plut and the number is not mine…  So this transaction they owe me 4.00 for the yogurt and the $5.68 for the cereal, or $9.68 plus tax and probably something extra for calling me Maria Plut.  Maria, if you are reading this, I’m terribly sorry, but why aren’t you activating your coupons?

Target deals

Target is selling Assassin’s Creed:  Brotherhood on a $30 temporary price cut which brings it down to $29.99.  This compares extremely favorably with the $55+ currently being charged at Best Buy and Amazon.  I asked DH if he played it;  PITA immediately chimed in that THE BOY plays this series…who knew?

I saw this on SD and that’s also where I stole the picture…

Pedigree Dog Food

Target has Pedigree 3.5 dry dog food on a temporary price cut to $4.  Use the $3 coupon from 3/6 r and apply overage from other products to reduce it even further.

a face only a mother could love…

two times Target and a visit to Wags

hi, ho, we go…On the way to the Woodridge Target, I stopped at the Wags on 53 and Maple.  Pitiful…2 lonely Nasogels looking for a nice warm basement.  i obliged.  and made a fast six bucks…  take that, motrinPM!!

Target got a total of seven more pants.  Three for me and four for PITA (in larger sizes for next year or so).  That both our pants say “skinny” strikes me as wrong on so many levels.

Oh, Michelle?  I checked, but couldn’t find any size 18s so I guess you’re SOL.

Target loves me, yes I know…

’cause my receipts tell me so!  Eight pairs of jeans and jeggings for PITA for a total OOP of $0.00.  Target is having crazy clearance deals at all their stores.  I stopped at the Woodridge store just ’cause I was driving by.  $4.98 for each, which paired up nicely with the $5 Target store coupon that was on their site a few weeks ago.  $39.84 subtotal, less  store coupons means $0.  I’m going to hit them later tonight and see if they have anything for me in the Omar the Tentmaker section.

See, this is why I tell you guys to always print out stuff like this.  Never know when it will come in useful.

Goddess Gourmet

A friend once gave me a small sign which read:  “If we are what we eat, then I’m either cheap, fast or easy.”  I’ll take all the above, Alex.

In keeping with that sentiment, I’m going to show you what we’re having for dinner tomorrow.  Within the past six months or so, Jewel has started having a clearance meat section.  This is probably the only decision of old Craig’s with which I heartily concur.  The three packages of country ribs and one steak cost (after clearance stickers) less than ten bucks.  The country ribs have already been dumped into the slow cooker, together with some free barbeque sauce, some Hunts diced tomatoes, Wesson oil and a large onion.  ETA tomorrow (on low heat).  Tonight’s meal is tacos, using leftovers from a  clearance pork loin, slow cooked to fall apart.

For me, it’s easier to run meals this way than picking up something to go.  And if PITA and THE BOY want snacks, well, luckily we have a full basement of Fresh Mixers from Jewel and Smart Ones from Target.
