Meijer today

Checked out the non-stock of Smart Balance milk – then picked up two 12-count rain checks.  If they tell you that the default is 6, tell ’em you want two then.  They actually have these printed out under the counter, but for some reason are loathe to part with them.  I had a call from a reader who was told that she could only have one rain check for 2 and that the reader’s boyfriend could not have one “because they obviously came together!”  God grant me the serenity  to accept the things I cannot change and  the strength to not bitch slap that broad into tomorrow. amen

At Meijer today the cs guy said that they were out “because we’re obviously giving it away.”  I did mention a little thing like a $2 mfr coupon, but you cain’t fix stupid.

There is a national catalina running with Kellogg’s Pop Tarts:  buy 3 get 2.00; buy 4 get 3.00; buy 5 or more get 4.00 from 11/6 to 11/28.  There is a $1/3 coupon on the Kellogg’s site (you have to register for all their coupons) so printing two would bring you down to $4/6, or .66666 each box.  I’ve read that it’s a mfr catalina.

You’ll be pleased to know that the Bestlife Buttery Spread is back in stock and back down to .99 – unfortunately the $1 coupon has expired.  Coincidence?  I think not.  There is a current .50 coupon in 10/17 s (exp. 12/16) if you need it.  I, on the other hand, am busy stocking the Meijer warehouses…

Meijer (and others) MMs

Hadn’t posted this yet, not that I have any scruples about it (don’t bother wasting your emails), but the $5 combo coupon in the 10/31 P&G for Secret deodorant and Olay body wash (or bar) ALSO WORKS ON THE TRIAL SIZES! I already knew that the deodorant trial size worked, which gave some cheap body wash, but cheap is not the same as free, so I held off on posting.

I now read on a few sites that both the .97 deodorant and the 1.29 body wash trial sizes allow you to use the $5 coupon, so almost a $3 MM!

I honor those whose minds are so twisted that they come up with and attempt these scenarios!   I know Meijer’s carries both these products in trial sizes, but not sure about Target, Wags, CVS, WM, et alia, so if you see ’em, try.

Tomorrow becomes today…

Whew!  Talk about whirlwind shopping.  First I hit Jewel for 16 of the Fuze drinks; this is high tax peeps, so plan on spending at least a few pennies.  Nobody needs to see a picture of 16 bottles!

Then off to Meijer, where even a peripatetic Meijer shopper like me knows to stop at the cs desk first to see what’s out of stock.  First day of a sale and they’re already out of the Smart Balance milk (got rain check for 6 – the limit) and the free w/ purchase Mrs. Ts spinach and feta Pierogies (got a rain check for 2 free).  I was able to get 8 of the Maxwell House coffees for .27 each, after the $1 cat.  Note that, like the previous sale, not all coffees are the same price.  The breakfast blend is the only one for $1.79, so get 2, use two coupons and a $1 MFR cat spits out, which I then used on the next transaction.  Obviously I ran this in multiple transactions, to get the $1 coffee cat each time, which leads into my next comment – I’m missing some receipts!  Guessing on the total for Meijers…$7.50?  Bananas are heavy, so maybe a quarter more.

Off to DG next.  Took 54 cans of Libby’s vegetables (mostly kernel corn), 2 Gain (all they had) and 5 Franks hot sauce for a total of $ 7.36.  PITA is busily clipping more  Libby coupons even as we speak; I’m going back with another 55 coupons (165 cans) for $19.25 plus low tax, so less than twenty bucks.  Note: DG’s registers won’t take off the entire $1/3, probably the same glitch as the Target ones.  However, DG is not out to cheat you and will break up the coupon value into .40/.40/.20 for each one.  Yes, a royal pain in the ass for both parties, but what else can you do?

Finally, an oddity:  you’ll be relieved to learn that this was not found in the grocery section…

Tomorrow’s deals – Update

The $1/1 Mrs. T’s Pierogi’s coupon has reset. Go to the right side bar for the coupons.com button.   I seem to gravitate to the 90210 zip (although other CA ones also work), so that’s what I used.  Print out as many as you can as quickly as you can because these’ll be gone FAST.  Mrs. T’s are 3/$5 and get the spinach one free.

A fast post and then off to the tub. Can’t afford that Groupon massage deal, so I’ll just have to rub myself the wrong way…sorry

Tomorrow I’m off to Meijers, DG and Jewel, quick jaunts all, for the following:  DG has the Libby’s canned vegetables at .45/each (limited varieties, but not bad) which you combine with the $1/3 from 8/29 rp, so what’re we talking here:  .35/3?  and the best part is you don’t have to play freezer tetris!  Oh, and the 10/3 s has coupons for MORE free Franks hot sauce.  Will someone please stop me?  While I like free more than the next guy (unless the next guy is appearing on Hoarders), the deal at Ultra way back when was better ’cause they had the reg and extra hot available – DG does not carry the extra hot.

Next is Jewel for more beverages (I know, I know, but since it doesn’t have to be refrigerated or fancy-storage needed, why not pick up some of the BOGO Fuze?  The 10/24 S has $1/2, so 2 free for each coupon.  Since I only have 8 coupons so far, it’ll be a fly over Jewel visit.

Meijer’s is going to give me MM milk and cheap coffee – I think I can safely pass on any spreads for the next year or two (well, unless it’s a MM).  I need to check out some other deals there before I post, just to be certain that what they say and what really is meet in my reality.

Still have to check out CVS to see if the Oral B toothbrushes came in.  Eventually all the stores should have sufficient supply to cover all the rain checks and expired P&G coupons.

Meijer – cheap coffee and spread (yeah, go spread!)

Right now it appears that the Maxwell House coffee dealio from a few weeks ago is back.  You know, it’s 50% off, you use the $1/1 from the 9/26 s and we’re talking crazy-cheap.  I’ll hit ’em tomorrow and make sure, but as it stands, last time the Breakfast Blend was, I think, $1.77, less the buck and if you buy two or more, you get a $1 OYNO catalina.  So what are we talking about?  How about .27 for a can of coffee (1.77 x 2=3.54- 2 $1/1q- $1 cat= .54/2)?  These are the 11 oz. cans, but still.

I bought lots, not even knowing if we would like this brand/blend, but I must say it’s really good.  So, if you have more coupons, or even without any, it’s a good deal ($2.54/2=$1.27 can).  Note:  9/26 coupon expires Sunday, 11/07

Another thing I’m looking at right now is the Country Crock spread, which will be priced at .99.  Buy two and get a $1 OYNO.  No insert coupons, only a printable here for .40 (requires registration).  Pick up two for $1.98, use .80 in coupons and get a $1 cat, so actual cost will be .09/each.

And don’t forget the Smart Balance milk $1 MM (see prior post for coupon info and links).

My Sunday paper includes Meijer ads, but only the current week, so I am using sites covering the Sunday-Saturday ads, since prices usually transfer intact.  much credit to meijer madness who has great info

Meijer 11/4 MM

Update note:  Sorry, I was informed that the link was broken but was not able to get back to correct it.  It should now work.

Another Smart Balance MM at Meijer, starting this Thursday.  The 10/31 rp is supposed to have a $2/1 coupon (again, our area might get screwed), which ties in nicely with the $1.99 sale.  Free is always good.  But wait, there’s moreMeijer has a $1/1 store coupon which you stack with the mfr, so a $1 MM on each carton.  This is the sweet deal a couple of months or so ago when I scored all that fresh produce.  And the store coupons reduce the entire price, so you are paying tax on a buck, not two (although it’s low food tax).

I’ve put in the entire link instead of just the milk coupon.  Check out everything they have in the 3 or four pages of store coupons.  Off now.

More cheap formula

I really hope that those of you who need it printed out the high value formula coupon the other day…  Another good one, for $5/1 22 oz or larger can of Enfamil powder.  Either click here or go to the sidebar and click.  While Meijer has formula on sale, their online ad only has the ready-to-use cans of Enfamil for $4.99; possibly it’s on sale but not in the ad. Anyone have any formula info on Meijer or other stores, please comment.  The exp. dates on these cans are usually at least a year off and let’s face it, not likely the kid’s gonna switch to beer!

Meijer sale preview

I’ve told you how much I like the Meijer Madness site ’cause of the great deals she posts, even if I have no use for them!  Remember how I always tell you to print out high value coupons in advance of sales?  Yeah, let’s all wait until the last minute so we can see that “print limit reached” message appear on our screens…Oh, right, you’ve never had that happen to you?!  and your check is in the mail..

Anywho, click here to print out two $3 coupons for Similac; there’s a sale acomin’ next week where you’ll be able to bring down the cost of a can of ready-mix to less than a buck.  Get as many computers as you can and print, print, print…  If you want to just click the coupons.com button on the right sidebar you can do that, too.  Sometimes it’s more profitable to scroll through all the pages, just to see what new coupons have appeared.

Meijer update $3.74

Just back from Meijer with a warning to always check your receipt!  Case in point:  Today there was an old guy in front of me buying just a few items, among them a loaf of bread.  When he sees the total he comments that the hamburger buns are supposed to be free when you buy a loaf of bread.  Cashier points out that he has the deluxe buns and not the hamburger buns.  He trots off to get the right one…again the cashier scans them and it doesn’t come off.  Wrong ones.  He says that these are the buns in the cardboard display with the bread!  I say get a manager to make them free because you have to pay more attention to what you’re putting in the display.  Now my turn.  Total comes to $6.34 for the items show here.  I knew it was a couple of bucks off, so asked and cashier said that the mPerks $2 had come off.  Took the receipt off to the side and scanned it.  Sure enough, the Purina cheez treats, marked on the shelf as $1.09, were actually ringing as $1.39.  Now, an ordinary shopper (certainly not us) would have purchased one or two of these and would never have noticed an extra .30 or so…  In my case, though, with eight it was apparent that an overcharge had been made.  So off to customer service and a return of my $2.60 ($2.40 + high tax).   Also, mPerks takes the place of a mfr coupon, so the post that talked about using paper and mPerks was incorrect.  This is why I always like to run the deals before posting…

Crappy weather out today, certainly not the day to grocery shop, but….I’ve seen this on a couple of boards, but haven’t yet checked it out:  the Taco Bell seasoning packets are on sale for .34 and coincidentally there is a Mealbox coupon for $1/3!  There is also a mPerks coupon for Milkbone Essentials which may tie in to their $2.50 sale price, don’t know yet, will check it out.  Combine that with the $1/1 from the 9/26 rp and should be more free dog stuff.  I’ve run out of computers to print the olive oil coupons, so right now I’m stuck with only 10 – not too many when you figure out I want them to last a year.  Remember, I like to stock up, not do the weekly stuff…

Meijer on 8 bucks – update with credit

Well, the sale on the Friskies treats was over, didn’t see any of the Purina chews, but was able to get 10 bottles of the olive oil and 10 packs of Mentos (hey, Rachel, don’t look now, but here’s your holiday present!) – can never have too much gum – then four packages of this gourmet-y chicken sausage and more friggin’ bananas.  What is it with this family?  Are they all nurturing their inner gorillas?  I was thinking that the sausage would have flavors like andouille (to add to my HC zesty gumbo), but I can substitute sundried tomato.  Actual OOP was $8.63.  And I still have to add that mPerks thing to my “shopping list” to get more cash back.

Very belated credit to Meijermadness whose sausage link this is.  She has a second link, but using that one makes you register and, more importantly, you don’t get any more coupons, so piss on ’em.
