Product Shill Time

I get lots of offers trying to get me to list lots of …well…crap.  This product caught my eye because I think it’s useful.  Glow Grip is a system of grip and glow strips.  Their Standard Glow Grip™ kit sells for $19.99 plus $6.95 S&P. This kit includes 16 Glow Strips, and includes the 51-piece home illumination kit.

For $10 more, you have the Deluxe Glow Grip™ kit, which includes 16 Glow Strips and the 51-piece home illumination kit shown above, plus 10 Silicon Grit Strips and 1 roll of Super Glow Tape.  This package gives you free shipping.

Why do I like this product?  There are lots of time we go into the basement or garage, never bothering to turn on a light because we’re only going to be out there or in the basement for a couple of minutes.  Yeah, I’ve done it, too.  Scare me to think how easy it would be to hit a patch of water or ice and then crack.  So for 20 bucks?  worth it.

Just turn off the volume if you click, because the damned obnoxious commercial plays in a loop.

Lisle Jewel – shopping with wine tags

I’ve gotten emails from quite of few of you who are heading out to Lisle and Wheaton this weekend – some coming quite a far piece – just ’cause our stores rock!

Sue (mrsmm80) made the trip to Jewel today.  She forgot to take a picture and she’s too bushed to gather up everything, but here’s her story:

MG, that was one awesome trip.  In fact, it was SO awesome, I’m thinking of going WT hunting again 🙂

Coupon doubles week

For those of you who live/work near DeKalb, Browns County Market in Genoa and Sycamore is having a double coupon week starting June 14 where mfr coupons up to .99 will be doubled ($1 and up get only face value).

Restrictions are:  We reserve the right to limit manufacturers’ coupons eligible for “doubling” purposes to four (4) identical coupons. Manufacturers’ coupons that state “Do Not Double” or “Not subject to Doubling” will be redeemed at face value only.

What you say, peeps?  Good enough for a road trip?

Cooking with the Cheapass

And yet another in my continuing educational series:   Took a couple of boxes of Ronzoni Smart Taste pasta, mixing two types just ’cause that’s what I do.  After they were cooked I threw in four cans of Wolf’s Chili, two with beans and two without and added some red pepper flakes.  Total cost?  hmmm let’s see, pasta was free and they paid me about five bucks to take home the chili, so calculate the damned taxes …

Negative $4.85 including tax?

Taco Bell

For one week only, June 12-18, Taco Bell will offer their Crunchwrap Supreme for only .99.  They describe it as a warm, soft, flour tortilla filled with seasoned beef, warm nacho cheese sauce, a crunchy tostada shell, reduced-fat sour cream, lettuce and tomatoes and then wrapped up and grilled for maximum portability.

Saw this on Hip2Save, where she says that these usually go for $2.79.  If that’s the case, well, then eating a few of these qualifies as cheapsake dining.  Enjoy…

Free Pepsi Products

Wags has got an unadvertised RR deal going on now:  buy any 2-L bottles of Pepsi, Mountain Dew or Sierra Mist, both regular and diet, for .99 and get a register reward that reads from Sobe (which is a Pepsi product dontchaknow).  It’s even sweeter because of the tearpads right next to the products that says “$1 off 2 Pepsi Products.”  So buy 2 for .99 and get .99 back.  Note:  Although this RR was rolling, the glitch has been fixed and don’t count on this.

Wheaton is putting up hand-lettered signs even as I type this, but can’t be sure of the other stores.  Even if you don’t see anything about the RR deal, it’ll still work.  And keep an eye out for those tearpads.

Between out Vitaminwater, Fuze, Seattle’s Best and now the Pepsi, we are looking at  a seriously hydrated summer coming up.  Now if  it would only stop raining…

Father’s Day Gift Suggestions

Apparently I’ve been slacking on my weird Amazon deals, so let’s get cracking, ok?

First up is this 6 Pack Beer Holster Belt – Camo, the perfect way to show you care, especially if you team it up with this Mullet Wig.  Purty, ain’t he?  Also comes in other shades.  And you really have to add some of this liquid ass to reach that sweet-smelling top note.

But enough of that.  Your guy is way more classy than that, right?  He needs leather!  So give him this Black Leather Beer Holster and show him how you really feel about him.

Need a little something extra to throw into the box, just so he knows how much you appreciate his constant “advice”?  How about the Bullshit Button?

If you need a laugh, click on any of these links and see where they take you…almost as much of a black hole time waster as POW.

Lawyer charged with prostitution – pleads not guilty

Lawyer charged with prostitutionAttorney Reema Bajaj, 25, of Sycamore. (Police photo)

By Clifford Ward, Special to the Tribune10:02 a.m. CDT, June 10, 2011

A young attorney who received her law license last year has been charged with prostitution, officials say.  Reema Bajaj, 25, of Sycamore, pleaded not guilty Thursday in DeKalb County, according to her attorney David Camic of Aurora.

Police say they were investigating another case when they found evidence that linked Bajaj to prostitution that occurred in August 2010. The alleged incident occurred within 1,000 feet of a school, which elevates the crime from a misdemeanor to a felony, said DeKalb police Sgt. Bob Redel.

Bajaj, a 2010 graduate of the Northern Illinois University Law School, would not have been a practicing attorney at the time. According to the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission website, she was admitted to the bar in November.

Bajaj also is charged with allegedly offering to perform a sex act last month with a man for $50, DeKalb County Assistant State’s Attorney Julie Trevarthen said.

Bajaj faces two misdemeanor and one felony counts, officials said. She was charged May 31 and is free on bail after posting a $500 cash bond (approximately ten more sex acts…).

It’s getting harder and harder to pay off student loans in this economy..

    6-pk Bounty for $1.99?

Just picked up my first 6-pack! They have a sign on the door that says you are limited to one coupon per day.  Apparently they changed the wording on the new coupons (the one I posted).  rats!  Staples has a $3 coupon off any purchase in store this week (coupon code 62898) and a sale on 6 packs of Bounty paper towels for $4.99.  So do the math!  Coupon says limit one per transaction per day and it expires 6/11, so run on over.  We’re talking about .33 per roll for Bounty!
