Subway

Subway is having a Customer Appreciation Month.  They’re offering two of their six-inch subs, the Meatball Marinara and the Cold Cut Combo, for $2 each.  This deal runs through April 30 and no coupon is required.   Promo says participating locations in Chicagoland and Indiana.  I’ve never yet experienced a location that didn’t participate, but maybe you have?

And no, this is not a picture of a Subway sub, but the ones they show in Subway advertising don’t look like the ones you get in the stores either.

You can go – I’m stayin’

I just had to post this gem for all the believers out there; let’s call them the sanity-challenged.   Read about this on CW.  Here is an organization that will arrange for pet care after the Rapture (assuming you leave, of course).  Since entire Christian communities are going to disappear, it stands to reason that the humane organizations are going to be overwhelmed, right?  Introducing “After the Rapture Pet Care.”

Dear Fellow Christian:

As the Apostle Paul describes in Thessalonians as quoted above, at some point in the future Jesus will come in the air, catch up the Church from the earth, and then return to heaven with the Church. This is known as the Rapture and it will be glorious. But what of our pets? Who will take care of our pets when we’re gone?

You can keep your Rapture – a pint of Cherry Garcia does me just fine…

Last minute shopping

Since I was pretty much restricted to shopping my stockpile today (see prior post), I was only able to escape the monkey house after 4 pm.  Naturally, I had to head to Jewel to snatch up nine more Tostitos using those expiring wts.  I saw a few more of those Old Wisconsin snack bites, so tossed them in the cart, too.  Two of those $1.29/lb corned beef and one lonely Smart Balance milk completed the order.  SB is on sale 2/$5 through, I believe, the 17th, but they only had the one, so I’ll hit them up later in the week using the $2/1 from 3/27 S2.  So what did I end up paying?  I used wts for the four snack bites and nine Tostitos.  Found two $1 corned beef wts, so those went into the mix.  I used two expiring $2 RRs and ended up $1.98 OOP.  Dates on the chips are 6-8 weeks away – THE BOY and I ate one whole bag this afternoon...it was not one of my atkins days…

Headed on over to the Woodridge Dominicks, but stopped first at Wags to check out the Tasters Choice or lack thereof.  You guessed it, lack thereof.  But I ended up rolling quite a few of my RRs using a combination of the Luster White toothpaste, Similac cans of formula and gel pens.  I ran six transactions, using varying amounts of formula and toothpaste, ending up rolling five $4 RRs and one $2 RR expiring today.  Note that the Luster White is $5.99 this week (next week is $4.99), but I needed to roll those RRs.  Total OOP was $13.06 (high tax toothpaste); I got back six $4 RRs.

Last stop was Dominicks to score the .99 asparagus – we loves us our asparagus!  Added three of the Girard’s dressing, large bunches of bananas, two Fresh Express, red seedless grapes and a 50% off package of 7% fat premium burgers with blue cheese and pepper (and no snarky comments about my eating habits, if you please).   Last time I shopped here I was able to use three RRs – this time one.  Had I known, I would have broken down the transaction.  I ended up using just one $5 RR and two $2 coupons on the Girard’s.  Just4U prices were:  bananas at .48/lb; red grapes at .79/lb and the Fresh Express salad was .99.  My OOP was $13.02.  ouch

I’m BAAACKKK!!

As if it weren’t enough to have the sewer people dig a ten-foot deep hole in the middle of my street and block access on either side with heavy equipment, they had to go and cut the phone line to the entire street in half.   Apparently, they also sliced the gas line feeding the blocks west of me; water line was chopped last week.  So yes, I’ve been stuck in my house with no internet and no land line with nothing to do but clean.  I’d be certain to win damages if I chose to sue…

Mommy Day Gift Idea – little birdie price

Got mine!  Note that free shipping is only on $50 or more orders – surprise, surprise that this one is $49.  Therefore, we add something to the order to bump it up.  In my case I added a skin balm for $6.50, which is less than the $7+ shipping charge and ended up with free shipping.

Looking for Mother’s Day gift ideas and need something that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg, cannot be purchased at Wags 🙁 for RRs and makes a big splash with a pricetag-type person?  Look no further.  The Today show frequently has these “deals” which, for the most part, aren’t.  The one I’m shilling is for a Rose or lavender scent bundle by Jurlique.  If you want to be shocked at the Amazon prices on this stuff, click here.

Package has a retail value of $283.50, but is marked down 83% to $49, which includes shipping.  Set includes:

– 3.3 ounces of balancing mist
– 4.3 ounces of hand cream
– 3.3 ounces of herbal recovery gel
– 10 ounces of body lotion
– $25 Gift certificate to Jurlique.com (I would, of course, keep this certificate as a shopping bonus).
