Last day of free dog food and I was gifted with 3 more coupons. run to store! (DH is gonna be eating real good this week – shhh) Ended up with tax of $1.20 which I paid using a gift card. I like this idea of having gift cards for the various stores – never have to worry about the nickels and dimes (did you think I’d hand over the folding stuff?)

Free dry dog food- update

Just came back from PetSmart. Picked up 9 bags of dog food, broken down into three transaction, so as to mail in three rebates. OOP in total was $3.60, all high tax. grrr
Update the 2nd: I went to the Hills site because I couldn’t understand the rebate form. Apparently it’s for their newest product line – Nutrasystem for Dogs (or something similar). You buy a box containing all your meals in little packets and more little packets of treats. Only big thing is the cost. Oh well, free is still good…
Update: While clipping out the coupon, I noticed that the ad contains a $10 rebate form…even hotter now! Wow, this is a hot one. Through Monday, February 21st (President’s Day), PetSmart is offering selected bags of canine Science Diet (Puppy, Adult, Lite and Maintenance; 4.5-5 lb. bags) for $5 after $4.99 PetPerks card discount. There is a wonderful $5 coupon in 1/9 S2, so what does that give you: Free dog food!
Note: You must have a PetPerks loyalty card to get this price. Sign up for their emails and you, too, can get great offers sent to you.

I don’t post much about this, but you should periodically check to see what’s been added over there. The Wardley $2/1 product is a sweet one I try to get as many prints of as possible (before it hits the print limit). Depending on the store, you can score either very cheap or free fish food when you buy the small containers. which i do. like it’s a surprise…
Hit the button on the right sidebar for coupons.com and click pet food, unless you want to first check out all the other coupons. (Be aware that the Wardley coupon fills the entire page.) I think each coupon nets me two cents…be generous…
Frolicking detour
Yes, I finally got dressed and left the house – call the newspapers… Picked up 3 boxes of Fannie May – lots of people, some even buying without coupons! yes, i was in shock the first time i heard that, but after a while i adjusted. Some people buying chocolate bars to get to $10 and then out the door. That’s fine, but since free candy bars aren’t that hard to come by, I’d rather spend a couple of extra bucks and get a few 1/2 pound boxes of favs: pixies, sugar-free meltaways (for MIL) and a pound of chocolate walnut fudge (what…where did that come from?). So I pay a couple of bucks for each separate transaction; to me it’s worth it.
Headed over to PetSmart and picked up four of the Greenies. Used two BOGOs and two PetSmart FREE coupons for 4 free ones. Then back home to put together 3 pizzas using the free CC pizza crust (in the freezer from that wonderful Jewel bakery pdf coupon) using free Kraft cheese. Pizza and good chocolate – does life get any better than this?
Free Greenies
There’s a couple of ways to swing this one, peeps: If you’re a member of PetSmart’s PetPerks program (otherwise register), click here. When you go to print, you can print as many as you’d like, but first save it as a pdf! Yes, they are giving us this wonderful option! We lubbs our PetSmart! If you want to get a BOGO coupon (I don’t know why you would, unless you aren’t near any PetSmarts, click here. Note: These are both mfr coupons, but again, the PetSmart one does not say you cannot print and use more than one.
$4.07 reasons why we love portable document formats
Since it’s the holiday season, we should all find time to help the less fortunate: that’s right, bring a basket of the fancy cat food to your elderly neighbors.
Ahem, looks like my flight of fancy just hit the O’Hare body scanners… damn, and I was looking forward to some invasive body searches. Hey, I’m married, gotta get my action somewhere!
Hit a couple of PetSmarts and a Pet Supplies “Plus” to get the goodies in this picture. The Pedigree dog food was being clearanced out at .34 each and I used BOGOs on the cat food. Actually broke down and used a coupon on just two bags of biscuits (hoping to win a prize inside – PITA wouldn’t let me just open and check first – damned kids!)
Pet Supplies “Plus”
Hope you’re all busy using up those $5 PetSmart coupons before tomorrow’s expiration! I picked up 26 cans of Friskies shredded salmon cat food for nada (Nada meaning nothing, not the name of the cat, which is Smythe, and at 20 years of age, he gets to eat whatever he wants – hmmm, another couple of months and I’ll have a drinking buddy!). Have to make sure I hit a few more pet stores tomorrow. No picture because my wonderful son put everything away before I could say anything. Thank you, baby, for ruining my shot.
Battle-scarred warriers return home
and don’t kid yourselves – there’s a war going on in the malls today!
Picked up my Kohl’s gift card at Jewel as planned, then drove over to get the razor. Holy crap! Had to park in a whole other parking lot and walk over. People were circling around and around, looking for a closer spot…please, people, just park and walk over. It’s not like the exercise is gonna kill you. After finally deciding which razor to buy, realized I needed something to push me over the $50 mark for the Kohl’s Kash. Picked up a pair of jeans for the PITA in the 80% clearance section. The funny part is that she tried on these same jeans a few months ago, but they were only 60% off, so we put them back. Got in line to pay at the lower level registers ’cause the upper ones had lines circling the room. At least in the lower level I was in and out in only 20 minutes – insert sarcasm here, please…
Stopped at PetSmart to use those wonderful $5 coupons. Ended up with 60 cans of the Pedigree .34 clearance food for…….. .30!
Next was the fourth circle of hell formerly known as Carsons. Parked all the way over near the tour buses – not a good sign, either that I parked there or that someone considers a mall a destination bus trip. shudder Well, I had about 11 of those $10 coupons, so thought I could at least get something – not. Place was completely packed, you were unable to use the coupons on the door buster deals (and almost everything in the store was marked that way) and the tights and leggings I wanted had no prices on them or the display. One sales clerk said they had no in-store price scanner, while a customer directed me to one. Good training, there, Carsons. Well, the tights were $18 and the leggings were $30. I shit you not. Put them down and walked over to Auntie Anne’s and got the free pretzel for the PITA (from that Freezooka a few weeks ago).
Then dropped off “stuff” to the West Suburban Humane Society in DG (stuff is what was placed in the PITA’s donation box at her school. This is the second trip in a couple of weeks with her donations.
Pet Supplies Plus .85
Got a coupon for expensive Innova dog or cat food in the mail to be redeemed at Pet Supplies Plus only. When I was there I asked about their policy of accepting other pet store coupons – they said no problem, so I used a $5 PetSmart coupon to buy the additional items in the photo. My OOP was .85. And, oh, yeah, I’ll be hitting the PetSmarts in the next few days…
Combined shopping today – $10.78
I’m lazy, I’ll admit it. So all the running around is combined into 1 photo, broken down as follows:
Wags: nada on the Pantene and Gain dish soap at two stores. Mind you, I’ve been holding onto the Gain rain check for weeks now; coupon expires today. Ended up taking 5 more cans of the almonds for a $3.90 subtotal, used a $2 Pantene RR, so $1.90 for 5 cans. Off to …
Walmart for the 10 bottles of Gain for tax of .40. Next is…
Quick stop to health club for food (did you really think I was gonna say exercise? Nah – monthly member appreciation day means tons of great food all day long. Lunch over, back to work…
Dominicks..Mostly crap in the clearance meat section, but had a freezer case full of clearanced Johnsonville brats in a variety of types (this is the DG store on Ogden). There is a $1/2 coupon in 5/02 S which brings them down to $1.49 each. Since today was National Enforce One Cat Per Transaction Day (and here I forgot to wear the t-shirt), I divided the orders into 3,and used their store coupons from the Renuzit crystals. Eggs were free, from the new U savings program. Chicken drumsticks were 1.29/lb, which was OK since it’s something everyone in the house eats without complaining. Total OOP was 8.48…final stop
CVS for – nothing at all! Thought I’d try for the golden toothbrush, but alas, although this store actually had one on the shelf when the sale started, but they sold it. sigh Between CVS and Wags lately, I’m experiencing life in the Soviet Union. Total spent …. hahahahahaha, although I did get another rain check.
