Spanish coupons

Must Use Spanish Coupons

For those of you new to this way of life, don’t just depend on coupons.com, etc., to fulfill  your ip needs:  there are many sites where English is optional!  Case in point:  I signed up for Nestle coupons in Spanish which have proved useful for those times when you just need a couple more coupons for a cat deal. Interested?  click here and register.

Amusing anecdote:  I recently read on a message forum about a shopper who was told by the customer service supervisor that she would allow them to use the coupons this time, but Spanish coupons were only supposed to be used by Spanish speakers.

This is a mash-up post…

with apologies to Rachel … Spent the day with MUM, basically hitting every store within a 10 mile radius…and this includes  *dum dum dum*  Sam’s Club.  Yes, even though I espouse the coupon party doctrine, I secretly wanted to see if there was any merit in the warehouse clubs.  Since Sam’s Club has a free membership promotion going until January 25th, we stopped in.  But first:

WagsOOP $2.80; got $24 in RRs:  6 Maalox; 20 Chex Mix and 2 Splenda.  20 Chex $1/1 coupons from the Dominicks Football booklet; 6 Maalox $5/1 (1/9 S1) and 2 BOGO Splenda (1/9 S2) and $2/1 ip (from MUM, ’cause I’m too lazy to link it myself).  Since this was the only day the cat was working with the free Chex, we hit ’em hard and fast.  The Maalox deal continues through the week and boy, do I wish I had ordered coupons (shoulda, coulda, woulda)

Dominicks:  3 loaves of their incredible artisan breads (no coupons, but sheer heaven); 5 Van de Kamp fish fillets and 6 Birds eye steamers; 4 packages clearance Johnsonville Brats; 1 Ranchers Reserve steak.  Used a $2/1 Ranchers Reserve coupon from the new book, so the steak was .02,  2 $1/2 Johnsonville Brats coupons (long expired); 5 buy Van de Kamp fish and 1 Bird’s eye steamers and get $2 off, combined with the Dominicks $2 instant savings when you buy them this week (ended up costing $2 for each combo).  Had an additional free Bird’s eye when you buy the fish (from the Feb. All You).  Total was $22.46, but I used RRs to get down to $8.96.

Target:  4 Chobani quarts of vanilla yogurt (2 pictured):  used a rain check to get them for $1.20/each, or $4.88 OOP.

Sam’s Club:  The big kahuna, the main event, our raison d’etre … $39.10 before coupons — $39.10 after.  Honestly?  I just don’t see the allure of this place.  I took pictures of some of the items for comparison purposes, so you be the judge…

I think this 5 gallons of Coke bag is odd, although I realize that it’s strictly a business-type purchase.
Paying for Chex Mix seems funny, since they just paid me to take it out of Walgreens. And the salmon? You’re paying almost eight bucks a pound here when it’s less than $4 at Ultra, Jewel or even Aldi.   That’s sheer lunacy.

My favorite thing of all?  The hand dryers in the washroom!  I knew Dyson sucked, but didn’t know it blowed…

Ooh, ooh, ooh

or stuff I keep forgetting to post about…

If you’re looking for the $70 Football coupon booklets, avoid the Danada Square Dominicks.  An empty display at the front door with no other display anywhere in the entire friggin’ store and most employees clueless.  Asked at cs and the young man gave me one.  You know you’re screwed when they’ve turned young men into coupon nazis.

Update on the K-Clark $25 Jewel gift card rebates: Peeps who sent in for their rebates within the first few days of the promotion have already started getting their cards in the mail.  Catch is that they are coming CERTIFIED MAIL!  Yep, so far it’s 100%, so if you get a notice in your mailbox, that’s what it is.  Please notify any and all who may or may not be getting a gift card in the mail so they’re aware of it…

Cats for Cash

I’ve posted before about my strong feelings on taking time for oneself.  If you take care of everyone else, who will take care of you?  Don’t you deserve downtime?  Well, that’s how I justify my mani/pedi, anyway…  Today I splurged and added a massage to further pamper myself (could have gone for a facial, too!).  Here’s the kicker:  I used RRs to pay for it all!  Yup, the spa has started accepting unexpired RRs and cats for products and services at an 80% cat to cash ratio (in other words, every $1 RR is valued at .80 cash), so a $35 hair cut would cost you $43.75 (assuming you paid completely in cats).  Obviously you have to pay the tax with cash, but still.  I thought it was a great idea!  Let me know your feelings on this – think it will catch on?  As long as they don’t play funny numbers when you’re using cats (you know, the “regular prices” Jewel and Dominicks use to justify their incredible markdowns) instead of cash.

Free pozole at Chipotle Jan. 19th

Chipotle will be adding pozole to their menu starting tomorrow, January 19, at their Illinois and Wisconsin restaurants (it’s already offered in Denver) and the first 50 customers at each restaurant will get a complimentary chicken pozole bowl.

Pozole (for non-Mexicans) is a flavorful chicken soup made with roasted tomatoes, cilantro, limes, rice, chicken and cheese.   kill me now before i hunt out the tent and sleeping bag…

National healthcare

Apparently Amazon was selling a DIY gastric bypass by Medline, Inc. for $246 but I missed it.  Not certain whether it was a Gold Box deal or not, but I obviously dropped the ball, folks, and I apologize.  Read the article here.

Well, obviously it was a mistake – everyone knows this stuff belongs on eBay!

see how useful this picture can be?

Women, you have to at least move!

I file this under:  Beware of on-line dating services.

An Ohio man faces three counts each of rape and criminal deviate conduct after he allegedly had sex with the corpse of a southern Indiana woman.

Fifty-five-year-old Richard Sanden of Geneva, Ohio, also was charged Thursday with abuse of a corpse and a misdemeanor count of marijuana possession.

Sanden has told authorities he didn’t realize 48-year-old Rebecca Whitehead of Washington was dead when he had sex with her corpse Jan. 8 in Washington, about 50 miles northeast of Evansville. The Washington Times-Herald reports investigators have reviewed a videotape of the alleged acts.

How Whitehead died hasn’t been determined yet. The newspaper says the Daviess County coroner was still awaiting toxicology results.

Sanden is being held on $500,000 bond in the Daviess County Jail in Washington.

want to eliminate marijuana use?  Market it as a gateway drug to necrophilia…

Just shoot me now, please

In Las Vegas, they just crowned a 17 year old Nebraska girl as the 2011 Miss America beauty pageant – – – oh, wait, that’s not right.  “It’s the world’s largest provider of scholarships for young women.”  yeah, i’d say very young women.  short Trib article here.

(Teresa) Scanlan won after strutting in a black bikini and a white evening gown, playing “White Water Chopped Sticks” on piano and telling the audience that when it comes to Wikileaks, security should come before public access to government information.

“You know when it came to that situation it was actually based on espionage, and when it comes to the security of our nation, we have to focus on security first and then people’s right to know, because it’s so important that everybody who’s in our borders is safe and so we can’t let things like that happen and they must be handled properly,” she said.

try parsing that sentence, peeps

Authorities: Calif. man used Facebook to hack women’s e-mails, distribute personal photos

Click here for the Tribune article.  And yes, this is very scary, considering he had had no prior relationship nor even any contact with these women before he hacked their accounts …
