Kellogg’s cereal settlement

Here is a link to complete if you can truthfully answer that you purchased at least 3 boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats between January 28, 2008 and October 1, 2009.  Truthfully?  I can attest to having purchased at least 50 in that time frame!  It’s almost two years, folks.  Fill in the on-line claim form with your name, address and phone and the next page asks for the number of boxes you purchased (minimum/maximum of 3).  You will receive a check for $15.  wonder how much the lawyers got?

Jewel pot stamps giveaway – Winner Update

And the winner is:   Pat G. PITA read through all the comments.  Heard her read them out loud and laugh, sometimes VERY LOUDLY.  Finally she made her choice and said “Pat G.”  why?  who can figure out the inner workings of mind of a teenage girl.  I would have thought that the person offering Justin Bieber tickets would get the nod, but then if someone has Justin Bieber tickets, sell the stupid things and buy some decent  All Clad pans!  I mean, it’s not like he’s Davy Jones or anything …. sigh   here

Well, looks like the collecting was the “funnest” part for me – don’t really need any more cookware.  When I mentioned that I had filled a couple of books, the CS mgr was amazed: “You don’t ever spend any money!”  Well, I do, but America’s largest corporations believe in paying for my groceries, OTC meds, toiletries and pet food.

I’ve giving you guys a week to post a comment to win a completed booklet of 130 stamps; giveaway closes Friday, the 7th at 5 pm, when I’ll have PITA (if it’s convenient for her) pick a name.  As soon as I get the winner’s deets the booklet will go out in the mail. Redemption period goes through 1/26/2011, so there’ll be plenty of time.

Super Swagbucks Day

Apparently today you can earn extra Swagbucks by using their search engine a few times; I ran about 5 or 6 quick searches and a box came up awarding me 10 Swagbucks. We now return to our regularly scheduled Google…

I force myself to do this at least one time every day.  I’m up to 166 Swagbucks since I enrolled (a few days ago?) We’ll see how many bucks I can accumulate…

Sinex update – important news

Just saw on iheartwags (yes, I have a boring nightlife, thanks for reminding me) that the Vicks RR deal we’ve been going for will be a lot sweeter starting on Sunday, January 2.  Yes, the Nyquil/Dayquil gelcaps will be priced at $4 each.  Assuming the Sinex are part of this deal (and they have been included in every one so far this year), buy 5 for $20, hand over 5 $4 Sinex coupons and pay the tax (approximately .48) and get back $10 in RRs.

Now I don’t know whether to buy the four, get two Puffs or wait until next week … decisions, decisions… oh, hell, I’ve got enough to do tomorrow with the year-end stuff.  Guess I’ll just wait…

Wags

and the hunt for the elusive Sinex…just what is it with the Walgreens warehouses?  Since the real MM requires four coupons, I’m guessing that most people are passing this one by, yet the Wags are understocked.   Checked out four Walgreens and only one had any stock at all – 4.  So this is the big haul:  2 Puffs and 4 Sinex for an OOP of $4.48 and a return of $10 RR.

I’m collecting rain checks for Sinex wherever I go, because the RR runs through March (even though the coupons expire 1/31), so whether I get the product now or next week or the next couple of weeks I’ll still make my cash.  In point of fact, if the coupon goddess smiles down on us, next month’s P&G will have another free Puffs when you buy Vicks coupon.  it’s my dream, dammit, don’t ruin it…

We’re out of hummus?

This cannot be true!  But fear not, there is a new $2 coupon out there with an expiration date of 4/30/2011! Click Tribe for another wonderful pdf coupon.  Grateful thanks to velviita, the OP on CW.  The current Jewel promotion goes through early January, I believe.  by the way, the hummus pictured is my favorite.

Some dream of cereal castles, some of diapers …

Back in the car for more meatballs.  Since I was there, decided to throw in a few other things…the 10 oz sale Fast Shake pancake batters were gone, so they substituted 2 of the 5 oz ones for each (got rain check for 30 – now to find more computers), Sierra Mist, Gatorade Prime and one lonely bottle of Sobe.  Two transactions, total OOP was $3.46, brought down by using a found $1 OYNO and a $3 OYNO from the Kleenex component of the K-C $25 gift card deal.

Important note:  There doesn’t seem to any method to the register glitch – Naperville (75th and Naper) was ringing B1G2; Westmont wasn’t working, I’ll know more about other stores later.  The only one working for certain is the Rte 53 Lisle store where they still have lots in the end freezer.  Take them out of the box and they require very little room in your freezer(s).

Jewel – we lubs us our (almost) free meated balls

Heard a rumor that the Mama Lucia meatballs that are BOGO were actually ringing up as mostly free, so naturally had to check it out.  While there I saw my 2 cases of broth being unloaded to decided to pick it up, even though I didn’t have those coupons with me (no, I don’t shop with a binder, folks).  Don’t forget that you can return within 60 days of the original purchase with your receipt and coupons and get your money back, even if the coupons have expired in the meantime.

So here’s my breakdown:  2 Sierra Mist (free from magic cat machine); 5 lb bag of rice; 2 ribeye and 1 cube steak; 6 boxes of Mama Lucia meatballs.  When I scanned the meatballs, the first one rang up at 3.99, next zero, then 3.99, next zero, fifth one was $3.99 then $7.98 came off, next (6th one) zero.  Total for 6 boxes of meatballs was $3.98 (or .66/each)!  Meat was clearance, so $7 came off on store coupons, the Sierra Mists were free, two $4 meat wts, 24 Manischewitz broths will have $24 in coupons subtracted in a couple of days and I’ll use a $4/40 that I “found.” So my actual OOP will be $8.37.  I’ll probably use a couple of cats to take that down a fraction, but didn’t want to screw up at the register.

and i gots me more stamps…

Wags today

Picked up five of the .99 sale Chex Mix for $4.95.  Used five .50 coupons and paid $2.45 OOP – got back a $3.50 RR.  Think I’ll do this all week, since PITA loves them.  Even without coupons (heresy, I know) you end up paying .29 each.

I’m waiting for my Sinex coupons to arrive; once they do I’ll hit the local Wags for the spend $4, get back $10 (well, that’s my take on it, anyway).

Sobe coupon update

Figured it was about time to call up those competent marketing folks at Sobe, since the last coupon we received had a December 31 expiration date.  Good news!  They have not bothered to change their Sobe voice prompt; now I can learn all about that Sobe Challenge once again...  Maybe they should rename it Clue, since they definitely need one.

Even though the customer service girl was absolutely certain we were in the database and would get our coupons, I had her check.  We can all rest easy now, since yes, we are in the computer for processing (their numbers were right, too) and the replacement coupons being mailed have an expiration date of February 28, 2011.
