Upcoming at Wags

Teaser here, but remember last fall’s Zarbee cough syrup MM?  The stuff was on sale for $5.99 and you got back $6RR. Except that there was an IP available that made it into a $3 MM.  Funny enough, PITA liked the taste of the cough syrup so much that I really regret not having picked up more (well, the money aspect is nice, but…).

Here’s some items showing up as deals in September/October:

Zarbee’s night cough (the packets) is going to be on sale for $5.99 with $5.99 in RRs.
Hyland’s kid night syrup (4 oz) will also be on sale at $4.99 with $4.99 in RRs.
Coldcalm tablets (60 ct) will be $2.99 with $2.99 RR.
Cepacol Max Cherry (16 ct) will be $2.99 with $2.99 RR.
Halls warm apple cider (20 ct) will be $1 with $1 in RR.
Blistex lip balm (cold/allergy) $2, get $2 RR.

There’s no current insert coupons on any of the above products, but keep an eye out for tearpads, peelies (Blistex has some), magazine inserts, etc. with long expiration dates, because these will be some sweet MMs.

This and that at Wags

Naturally I forgot to take pictures (most of the stuff is still in boxes anyway), but my back-ordered Right Guard body wash came in today at Wheaton.  Yes, I know the coupon already expired, but hey, that’s not my fault, is it?  So I got twelve of the body wash and six of the Ecotrin.  Used 6 BOGO Right Guard coupons and 6 Ecotrin $1.50.  Since the RG coupons only go up to $4.49 and the Wheaton price is $4.99, I needed the Ecotrin overage, ’cause otherwise I’d have to pay money!

Next was the Ecotrin/Icy Hot/Illy coffee drink combos, where I paid .07 each transaction and got back $2.99.  For that one I used the $1.50 Ecotrin, $1 Icy Hot and the $1.50 RR from the Jet-Dry deal.  Obviously one of the coupons was marked down a couple of cents.

Then I just ran the remainder of the Icy Hot coupons and got a load of the .99 RRs.  Oh, my final deal was actually the Goody headache powders, since I wanted to roll the last five or six of the Jet-Dry RRs into new RRs.

Don’t forget that next week’s sale on Sobe means you can roll those Icy Hot RRs right on over into liquid refreshment.  If you’re planning on placing any size order, please contact Steve as soon as possible.  He’s already received one full pallet, but that stuff goes quickly, remember?  I’ll probably order some, even though I “bought” those 840 liquids from Jewel a few weeks ago.  We seem to be sucking down this stuff at an alarming rate.

Wags 5/29-6/4 Update!

Note – Please place your special orders with Wheaton (or Lisle or Montgomery) as soon as possible so he can get the stock in before the warehouse runs out.

The Right Guard bodywash BOGO sale returns.  If you need/want more, start ordering your coupons now before sellers jack up prices.  I particularly like the type that says for  hair/body/shaving; covers everything, right?  That 5/1 r coupon expires 5/31 – only two days into the sale – but Wheaton will accept them through 6/2 – no later.

New Celsius $1 pdf. Makes the four pack FARR.

Now for our MMs.  That wonderful Celsius green tea, on sale for $3.99 with a $3RR.  Last year they ran this off and on every couple of weeks until they hit a big blow-out during a four-day event around the 4th of July week-end, when it was a super MM using the $3 insert coupons (and a pdf?) and $3RR.  Can you say “Back up the truck?”  I can.  So far, there’s only a $1 coupon online, a pdf, to be sure, but only a buck?  puhleez.  The coupon expires 5/31, so I’ll keep watch for a higher value one.  An odd thing about the Celsius teas is that the raspberry flavor rings up low tax, but peach mango rings up high tax!  I’ve told Steve to stock up more of the raspberry.

Icy Hot Naturals cream (.5 oz size) will be on sale for .99 with a $1 RR; pair this with the $1/1 from 5/1 S for some nice little overage.  This coupon only excludes the 1 ct Icy Back Patch.

And next on our MM tour is my absolute favorite cracker in the WORLD – Ritz Crackerfuls.  This is a super Memorial Day blowout deal, available only May 29th and 30th:  sale priced at $2 with a $2 RR, which we sweeten with the $1 coupon from 4/17 S1 (same insert that contained the Splenda coupons). Note that Wags only carries the Cheddar flavor.

Also of note is a deal with either BC and Goody aspirin powders 6 ct pack for $1.50 with a $1.50 RR.  While there is a $1 coupon for both products in 3/20 rp (exp. 5/31), it specifies 16 ct (Goody) or 18 ct (BC) or higher.  rats, ’cause all this thunkering is giving me achy an breaky brain

And yet another deal is a new product being launched by Walgreens:  Illy Coffee.  It’s refrigerated coffee in cans in three flavors:  Issimo Caffe; Issimo Cappucino and Issimo Latte Macchiato.  It will be on sale for $2 with a $2 RR.  I haven’t yet found any coupons, but still, free coffee is good coffee.  Even without coupons, use the $1 Icy Hot RR to bring your OOP down.

Still working on some other RR deals – will update as needed

Wags and Jewel

Just a short post ’cause PITA and I have to rush out to Wheaton Drama for 1776, the last (sob) show of the season.

OK, don’t hate me, but I picked up “a few Crackerfuls” and Right Guards, then turned the Crackerfuls $2 RRs into the Illy coffee deal.  By the way, the coffee rings up as low tax, so between the mfr and wags coupons and RRs, I ended up spending .58 for both items…multiplied out…

Then raced over to Jewel for most of the stuff in the picture; not pictured were the watermelon and Dr. Pepper.  (Got 2 Porterhouse steaks, 15 SBR sauce, 15 Hidden Valley, 2 Gonnella bun, OM hot dogs, 5 Cape Cod chips…and I forget what else.)  They were out of the Beggin’ Strips, so got a rain check for 30.  Total before coupons (hahaha) was $86+; after coupons, wts, a $8/80 cat and a few RRs, I was able to walk out spending $2.02.  Rats, I hate spending money…

Wags Updates – please read completely

Ok, I’ll admit to not knowing just what the heck is going on here – the last I heard was no Icy-Hot at all until August’s run (it was a special production size for Wags) and Yorkville had almost all of them.  Now I get tons of emails and calls that they are in stock in various locations!

So here’s the scoop:  Some stores got limited quantities of Icy-Hot – very limited.  If you are out and about early today, grab it, because there’s almost a guarantee that stock will not last through even today (my guess is it’s gone as I type this).

Crackerfuls was a Nabisco error, plain and simple.  After all the bitching they got from us and Wags (apparently) they agree to ship sufficient quantities directly from their warehouse to the stores and indeed, some stock did show up via UPS.  However, their definition of sufficient is not the same as Wags or ours, because most stores got 15 boxes.  Yes, that’s right… Steve’s DM told Nabisco that he could move 15,000 in two days and somehow the zeros were lost in the translation.  However, the Ritz, Wheat Thins and Triscuit are all on sale for $2 and are generating a $2 Register Reward. The Crackerfuls mfr and store coupons will both work on the Ritz crackers; the Wheat Thins and Triscuits mfr coupons will also work, but not the store one – does that make sense to you?  While I’d rather have the Crackerfuls, at least you can get something.  If the RR deals goes past tomorrow (Monday), then we can run with this all week.  At least something will be going right.  If your store is all out of Ritz, then you will still be making the $1 MM with the Wheat Thins and Triscuits.

A small MM is the Ecotrin,  on sale for .99 using the in-ad coupon.  There is a $1.50 coupon in the 5/1 R, so .51 overage.  Make sure you hand over the mfr coupons first and then the weekly ad.  Since it’s not an RR deal, you can run these all in one transaction, as long as you have sufficient items in the transaction to use up the combined overage.

If you have any of the Finish $1.50 RRs, you can always use them on the Illy coffee cans, since they don’t have any coupons of their own.  Two bucks less the $1.50 means you pay .50 and get back a $2 RR, which goes for another two weeks.  I’ve never tried this coffee, so you might want to just buy one for taste.

Iheartwags is reporting that the June IVC booklet has a coupon good for $5 off Applied Nutrition Triple Calcium works with the Triple Calcium on sale for $10 with a $10 RR – it doesn’t.  It’s apparently working only on the two products shown on the coupon.  We tried it and the coupon doesn’t work with this product – says product not found.  Also, Wags corporate just sent out an email that this $5 IVC is NOT to be used with the $10 RR Calcium product. Sorry…

Wags and Jewel – Lisle

Found another 16 REACH coupons!  Seriously!  And if the majority of my inserts from 4/17 hadn’t been Sun Times, I would’ve had a ton more.  Well, shouldn’t complain…

So 16 toothbrushes equaled $1.16 in high tax; got back $16 in Register Rewards.

I just wanted so see how many and how much the Beggin’ Strips were selling for at Jewel.  They’re currently on BOGO sale, which pairs nicely with the 5/08 S BOGO coupon.  The Lisle Jewel sells this for $4.09 (other stores vary), which means that the coupon, which only goes up to $3.99, gets you two bags for .10.  But again, it’s high tax.  I’ll hit them up for the rest tomorrow, since today was a fast shopping trip.

Note on the .01 Miller beer, OM dogs, etc. promo: Miller has informed Jewel that they will be sending out “mystery” shoppers attempting to purchase more than one of these promotions (Jewel is supposed to limit this promo to one per person and possibly one per card).  If your cashier tells you that it’s limited to one per person, please accept this, smile and move on.

Now, if you happen to end up at another store with a different preferred card…

Icy hot recap

I’ve heard that a Wags in Yorkville got 2,500 Icy-hots…and isn’t playing nice.  Anyone got anything other than rumors and gossip…not that there’s anything wrong with that…

just remembered that Jewel has eggs for .99…just sayin’

Wags – $1.03

Yes, let’s just blow the whole wad!  I used some serious Bayer overage to get this stuff – and then got back $13 in Register Rewards.  go team!

Wags deals 6/5 and out

Steve and I had talked earlier about the ReNew Life Omega Smart Fish Oils promo:  $10 sale price (normally $23.99) with a $10 RR.  Didn’t really float my boat, but then a $2 mfr pdf coupon appeared!  So now we have a $24 product turning into a $2 MM and if we throw in a filler, we can pay with the Complete contact lens $8 RR…  The pdf coupon scans fine, but asks that the coupon value be entered.  Very odd.  But again, it scans and both Lisle and Wheaton have no issues with using it.  If you want or need this product, contact your local store as soon as possible, as the holiday week is screwing up the normal order/delivery schedule.

There are a couple of deals starting June 5, but only a couple; looks to be a slow couple of weeks (although the unadvertised deals have really rocked lately).  Sobe Lifewater will be on sale for .99 with a $1 RR.  Since I seem to set for beverages, I’ll probably pass.  Note the word probably.

DOUBLE-DIP REACH WORKS!  You get  a $3 RR AND a $1 from the national catalina deal.

I’m updating the Reach section because the current RR is part of a national catalina and ends 6/12.  The new $3 promotion is a Wags one and starts on 6/5.  So……is there a chance for a double-dip?  While it appears so, there’s no way of knowing until the second one starts on the 5th.  I do know that the new promo will not work using the el cheapo crystals.

There will also be another REACH toothbrush deal:  2/$5 with a $3 RR.  This will include the cheap double sets and the single expensive ones.  I might update with more specifics, but the coupons usually work on them all.  The 5/08 coupons we’re using this week for the REACH crystal will work well with this one (although not as sweet a MM).

July 3 will have the return of the Oral-B toothbrush deals:  $2/$2 with a $2/2 mfr coupon in the July P&G insert.  The coupon states that it is limit four per customer.  hah!  as if!

Now the big news is that the 20 ct MotrinPM deal is coming back the end of July:  $3 with $3 RR.  There are no coupons out there at present, but since this is still 10 weeks out, start praying, dammit!  Use all those Glade and Air Wick candles for something useful!

that is all, Goddess out…

Jewel $1.20 & Wags $1.05

You are looking at 10 bottles of SBR sauce, one quart of 18% cream, 2 packages of watermelon, 1 OM hot dogs, 2 packages of clearance pork chops, 2 half-gallon SB milk, 1 2L Dr. Pepper, 24 pack Jewel water (not shown) and Rosen buns.  While I’m sure you can guess the coupons and deals for most of it, I’ll clue you in on the others:  pork chops had the $2 clearance stickers on them, which I stacked with two $1 any pork product mfr coupons; watermelon was supposed to scan at .59/lb, but instead rang at .99 and $1.49, which equals free watermelon; water was free with cat, same for the onion rings.  I used a $2 OYNO I found and $4.50 in RRs, which left me handing over $1.20 in US currency.

Wags ended up costing me $1.05, but that’s OK because I got an $8 RR for the Complete.  Calcium was free with the IP coupon (Note:  even though we all printed out two of them, only one can be used because there is a unique code which i cannot for the life of me figure out).  The Bayer is giving out some serious overage, which I was happy to apply toward the contact solution.
