Lisle Wags and Jewel

Got a call from the Lisle Wags – my Jet-Dry had come in, along with Bayer low-dose aspirin and the Crystal REACH toothbrushes.  You knew these were money makers, right?  I ended up running quite a few transactions of one Bayer and one Jet-Dry, just so the Bayer overage would bring down the Jet-Dry.  Each one resulted in paying .76 and getting back a $1.50.  Used the other overage on Tone body wash ($3 RR) and Complete contact lens solution ($8 RR).  I ran the toothbrushes in sets of four all by themselves – no need to get crazy here, folks.  Each one was .76 (damned high tax) and I got back a $4 RR.  Total OOP was $17.03; ended up with $51.50 in Register Rewards.

If you are still looking for the Crystal REACH toothbrushes, the Bayer Low Dose aspirin and the Jet-Dry (assuming you got the rain checks I told you to get), head on over to Lisle.  Their Bayer is more expensive ($3.49) than other stores, but the bottom line is THEY HAVE PRODUCT IN STOCK.  All the money makers in the world won’t help if the stock isn’t in, right?

Jump across the street to Jewel.  I really didn’t have much of a plan or need, but I did want to dump all the stupid plastic grocery bags that seem to multiply in the garage.  While there DH calls wanting tacos for dinner, so in I went to pick up the tortillas and cilantro.  Hey, since I’m there anyway, might as well throw in a few of the sale Ronzoni pastas, right?  Well, they didn’t have any of the Garden Delight variety and frankly, I’m tired of carrying around rain checks, so tried the Smart Taste ones with the Garden Delight coupons and they worked; the whole grain ones in the brown box do not work.  Ended up at $1.65, so used one of my new Register Rewards and .65 in change.  I hate shelling out cash for food!  Well, in point of fact, I hate shelling out money for anything!  end of story…

Wags and Crackerfuls

I have to be very careful in my wording here (if you catch my meaning if you get my drift), but Wags will not be able to get the Crackerfuls in stock for the two-day Memorial Day sale.  However, do not toss the coupons or use them anywhere else (unless they’re at least FREE, if not a MM), since neither the mfr nor the Wags coupons expire until the first week of July.  and more i cannot say…

However, I will have PITA pull the winners tomorrow and send them out.  As a bonus, I have a “few” extra Wags coupons to pair with the mfr coupons.  More money for you!

Wags

I stopped at Wags to check out some other deals and ran across the Bayer Low-Dose aspirin deal:  $2 off from the weekly ad, $1 from the May IVC and $1 off from 5/1 S.  $3.49 less $4 gives you .51 in overage, so make sure you have some fillers.

I knew that MUM was making up a shipment of this low-dose aspirin for her father (MUM’s DAD?) and shot the picture over to her.  She kindly linked back to the two Bayer transactions at Wags she ran earlier today.  Hey, I’ve been out all day!  Always late to the dance, that’s me…

Wags and Walmart

Wanted to check out the $1 wags Crackerfuls coupon from 5/22 S; strange wording made me wonder if the coupon required you to buy both the Crackerfuls and the Newtons.  The good news is that you can buy one Crackerful and use both the $1 mfr and Wags coupons, getting $1.50 off.  If Wags tries to screw us over with the RR, at least we can get rain checks for the $2 price and pay (shudder) .50 a box.  If a miracle occurs and Wags gets the product in stock for the sale (highly unlikely at this point in time) or gives us rain checks that include the RR,  you’re looking at a $1.50 MM.

The Jet Dry rain check works beautifully:  pay $1.28 (including high tax) and get back a $1.50 RR.  Since this stuff is never cheap or free, I’m thrilled and will stock up for the next year or two or three…

Ran into WM to pick up 13 of the Pert 2-in-1 travel size using the $1 coupon from 5/15S.  .52 OOP.  There were some very dark clouds overhead, a gusty wind was blowing, we were already under a tornado watch and my biggest fear was that I’d be trapped in a Walmart.  Oh, like it wouldn’t scare you, too.

Finish Jet Dry MM today only

There is a $1.50 Jet Dry Wags store coupon in tomorrow’s (5/22) S insert and a $1 mfr coupon in the 4/17 S.  Pair both with the $3.49 price and you pay .99 and get back a $1.50 Register Reward.

Wags and Jewel – lots for little

Realized that I had $19 in Scotts cats expiring today after I finished up with the Lisle Jewel.  Isn’t that always the way?  So decided to hit the Danada Jewel after Wags.

First of all, I didn’t bother using all my coupons:  yes I cleared the shelves of deodorant but they still have lots in the back and frankly, they need the exercise.  Sorry, Steve, but there it is.  I’m still miffed at him because I wanted to have a body wash/deodorant trunk sale in the parking lot and he did not think that was a good idea.  Jeez, whatever happened to friendly competition?  He’s just afraid my prices would be lower – and they would be.  Anyway, the left photo is a full shopping bag that I’m too lazy to line up for their photo opportunity, only to take them downstairs.  Let’s just say there is an awful lot of product in the bag and leave it at that…

So shoot over to Jewel to see what we could see – – How about some $2 meat wts (on Skyy vodka display) over by the meat!?  Didn’t even have to make a detour to the liquor department!  Sweet!  There was a display rack with $1 mfr coupons for pork products, so I picked up a few of them. A manager’s special on boneless, skinless chicken breast for $1.99/lb looked good, so I took a few large packages and added a quart of 18% cream.  Now why is it that the 100% dairy product is cheaper than Coffeemate?  by a buck!  Ended up paying out $1.49.  Oh, well, sometimes you have to pay to eat… but not often, luckily!

Buncha stuff

1.  Lisle Wags just called to say they received a large shipment of the “adult” Lunchables (the ones I bought for a nickel after the $1 RR).  These subs come in a micro package, so you can heat them up and melt the cheese.  These are a HUGE improvement over the OM kid subs…trust me on this.  Anyway, for free food, head on over.  I only wish I had more inserts…

2.  I put the ten coupon winners’ envelopes in the mail this morning, so keep an eye out for yours.  If I receive another batch of coupons, I’ll post and give you all another shot at whatever is left after I turn in my receipts.

3.  Click here for a free sample of Fiber Choice.  I somehow feel that this really belongs in the Dave Barry colonoscopy post…

The Jewel, the Wags and other ramblings

First up – Good News!  The first group of coupons has arrived (finally…).  I’ll get them out to the giveaway winners tomorrow.  There is a possibility that I might get enough to give more away so don’t throw out your Fuse and/or Vitaminwater receipts.

My first stop today was at Jewel, where I wanted to check on the Lawry’s Marinade deal.  I’d read that there were $1 hangtags on the bottles, which, combined with the $1 sale, makes for some really cheap marinade – free!  And this is some seriously good product to have in your stockpile, folks, because you can use it for just about everything:  fish, chicken, beef, pork and for all types of cooking methods.  Not one bottle had a hangtag (I also checked a far distant one justincase.  nothing).  However, I was able to score a few of the newest Jewel coupon booklets entitled fresh summertime FUN.  They say FREE – take one.  so i did…

Last stop was to a Bolingbrook Wags where the computer said there was stock – 12 lousy toothbrushes.  which is 12 more dollars than I came in with, so shouldn’t complain.  Steve should get more of these in next week’s order (Wednesday), so I’ll have to wait.

Wags update- II

It seems that some (ok, a lot of you) are getting hung up on the “free” name.  The Poligrip coupon is for the product:  Poligrip FREE – Free of zinc, scent, other stuff you can’t pronounce).  So you are taking a coupon that’s to be used on any size Poligrip FREE product, the smallest size at Wags being sold for $2.29.  You apply the mfr up to $2 coupon and then the Wags IVC coupon.  If you have sufficient items to use up the overage, there should be no problem.  I used it a few weeks ago to get all the Puffs tissue and really wish I had more.  It’s an easy-peasy deal, no beeping, etc.  Yo capeesh?  And if you still are having or anticipate problems either go to Wheaton, Lisle or Montgomery or give all your coupons to me.  i prefer the latter course…

Just a reminder that the Poligrip “free” tubes (free of scent, zinc, etc.) are regularly $2.29.  The $2/1 coupon in the 3/27 r stacks with the $1/1 IVC May coupon for .71 MM. There is a new $1 coupon in the 5/15 r which will give you .29 Poligrip, not free but pretty darn  cheap.  If you haven’t used the $2 coupons or want the stuff for .29, Wheaton still has lots of stock.

Wags – Lisle

I’ve decided to note which Wags I’m shopping to make it easier for everybody.  Here you see a combination of five transactions.  I ran the buy two Lunchables at 2/$4 get back $1 RR using 2 $1 qs from 5/15 S:  pay $1.05 get back $1 RR.  Needed milk (well, that was the purpose of the trip) and noticed that the 1/2 gallons of Dean’s were on sale for $1.49 while the gallons were $3.29.  Which explains why I ended up with 8 half gallons (not all pictured).  Was only able to get 3 of the Reach Crystal toothbrush MM, so $2 RR. (buy 2=$1RR; buy 3=$2RR; buy 4=$4RR – use $1/1 4/17 S1 & $2/2 5/08 S).  I’ll hit up another Wags to use up my remaining coupons for 34 more ($33 RR).
