Free Pepsi Products

Wags has got an unadvertised RR deal going on now:  buy any 2-L bottles of Pepsi, Mountain Dew or Sierra Mist, both regular and diet, for .99 and get a register reward that reads from Sobe (which is a Pepsi product dontchaknow).  It’s even sweeter because of the tearpads right next to the products that says “$1 off 2 Pepsi Products.”  So buy 2 for .99 and get .99 back.  Note:  Although this RR was rolling, the glitch has been fixed and don’t count on this.

Wheaton is putting up hand-lettered signs even as I type this, but can’t be sure of the other stores.  Even if you don’t see anything about the RR deal, it’ll still work.  And keep an eye out for those tearpads.

Between out Vitaminwater, Fuze, Seattle’s Best and now the Pepsi, we are looking at  a seriously hydrated summer coming up.  Now if  it would only stop raining…

Greetings to all functional illiterates

Does this post look familiar?

DOUBLE-DIP REACH WORKS!  You get  a $3 RR AND a $1 from the national catalina deal.

I’m updating the Reach section because the current RR is part of a national catalina and ends 6/12.  The new $3 promotion is a Wags one and starts on 6/5.  So……is there a chance for a double-dip?  While it appears so, there’s no way of knowing until the second one starts on the 5th.  I do know that the new promo will not work using the el cheapo crystals.

OK, now what part of Crystals won’t work are you having difficulty with?  Stop screwing around so I can eliminate the phone calls I’m getting.  Keep it up and I will be thrilled to name names.  you really don’t want to go down that path, peeps.

Friday Freebies

How about a sample of RevitaLens OcuTec?  Print out the pdf coupon and take it to one of the Walmart Vision Centers and get a whole starter kit for free.

This is the stuff that had the $3 coupon in last Sunday’s Smart Source ~~~ so….. if there’s a deal anywhere before that coupon expires on 7/11… hello, sailor!

How about a free sample of Carefree Body Shape pantiliners from Walgreens.com?  There is a glitch in the link (you keep looping from Wags to Wags to Wags); so the only way to actually get to this page is to cut and paste the following:

Seattle’s Best

I’m sure that most of you have been unable to find any of those single cans of Seatttle’s Best coffee, which makes the free coupon almost an insult, right?  I’ve checked Target, CVS, Wags, etc. and nothing.  Other sites have found them at all the stores I just mentioned, which leads me to believe that it’s a ymmv situation, depending on the state and store, etc.  Since I seem to have acquired a few **cough, cough** inserts…

I asked Steve to put in a special order for these:  The first order of about 300 will be in his store this Saturday.  If you want any quantity at all, please give him a call and let him know how many and which flavor.

Note:  The coupon value only goes up to $1.79 so Steve has agreed to make this the sales price.

Wags – Sobe Alert

While sorting through my RRs, I noticed that the new Sobe .99 ones state on them “Redeemable Only at Walgreens” which is distinct dis-improvement over the usual ones.  I’m having a hard time coming up with ways to use these, since Wags is looking to be a snoozer for the next couple of weeks (although unadvertised stuff pops up all the time).  I read on Wild for Wags that the Wet ‘N Wild products are 50% off the month of June, which makes for cheap fillers.  Some of the eye and lip liners are actually very nice.

Wags of the Future – update

Made a visit to this Oak Park store to see if they’re now complying with the official Wags coupon policy (click here).  I spoke with Tim, an asst mgr (store manager wasn’t in), who was not aware that they are supposed to mark down coupons.  He thought it might be a new policy, but I assured him it was not.  He said that next time someone has a problem, that they should call for a manager – this obviously wouldn’t have helped with Grace’s situation, since the mgr and two clerks all refused to mark down her coupon.  I strongly suggest that people print out the official policy and wave it like a flag until they back down.  If they still refuse to follow the corporate policy, get the names and call corporate (1-800-925-4733, option 4 – if they don’t speak English, ask to speak to a supervisor) from the store.  Because let’s face it, if a store feels they can go rogue on this, who know what other crap they’re pulling.  I did pick up three cold Sobes, rolling my .99 Icy Hot RRs, so it wasn’t a total waste…

Walgreens is introducing fresh and ready-to-eat foods in limited stores; their plan is to eventually have something similar to this in most locations.  Look out 7-11.  Why?  Here are some pictures I took at the new Walgreens on Madison in south Oak Park (yes, my north Oak Park bias is showing).  The first picture is of the entrance.  Walgreens took an ancient building on the corner of Oak Park Avenue and Madison, gutted it and retained the charm of the original shell with the new entrance set back.

Know what this is in front?  A charger for your electric car…

This is the view you get when you walk in the front entrance.  See how bright, clean and spacious it looks?  The selection of prepared foods is huge:  cut up veggies and fruit in cups, perfect for kids in strollers or carseats; wraps, traditional sandwiches and fancy ones on tomato focacia; general tso and kung pao ready to nuke…

How about a pharmacy section?

The prices are not set with paper tags, but instead use led displays, which can be changed with a small scanner-type device.  Much faster, huh?

And the main thing:  They had NO Crackerfuls; the service clerk was super-duper friendly and walked me all over and even went into the back to locate the one Icy-Hot remaining from their huge order of three.  Yes, the three puny tubes arrived unexpectedly.

Wags – 6/12

Crap!  I just realized that, while I talked privately with people about this, I had never posted this upcoming Air Wick deal.   This Sunday has the Air Wick Freshmatics on sale for $7.99 with a $3 RR.  There is the usual $4 coupon in Sunday’s Smart Source (6/12), so .99 for each.

I prefer this stuff for free, but enough people use them on a regular basis that .99 is a sweet price for them.  Please call your local Wags to make sure you have your orders in.

MotrinPM

Hello, you sweet little MM, you

I hope you’re putting together your deals on the MotrinPM I talked about a few weeks ago:  The 6/12 Red Plum will have a $1/1 coupon.  Not the biggest money maker in the history of the world, BUT it is low tax.  The coupon expires 7/30, so we should be OK.

Steve has only placed a “small” order so if you’re going to be getting any significant amounts, please give him as much notice as possible.

Wags – Lisle

I ran four very quick transactions, each one consisting of:  1 Gillette Fusion razor ($4  July PG); 2 Gillette deodorants (BOGO 5/15 rp & $1 July PG); 2 Gillette body wash (BOGO July PG & $2 5/15 rp); Sobe Lifewater (.99 RR from Icy Hot).  I took two of the Fusion Smooth Comfort Packs as my razor selection – original shelf price is $13.89, so much more valuable.

Each transaction ran $16.82 (asst mgr immediately started rechecking the coupons, assuming she had somehow screwed up if I was paying that much!).  Got back $15.99 in RRs ($10 from Gillette spend $30 get back $10; $5 from razor; .99 from Sobe.

Another Wags drifts to the Dark Side?

Going to Hell in a handbasket

Got an email from Chris, who says:

“Just wanted to let you know that we have another Wags that is SUPER COUPON FRIENDLY and very into ordering for us couponers.   Yes- it’s out in the middle of BUFU (Oswego).  The store mgr is Kim B. and her store is the 3401 Orchard Road in Oswego.  She said let people know that they will order for us and work with us on whatever we needed.

Phone: 630-551-0367 for Kim.  She also said that Debbie does a lot of ordering if she’s not in and to speak to her also if we needed to order anything.”

OK, folks, I don’t know anything about this store?  Any comments?  Can we just add this one to the mix, or does one of us have to actually try special orders?
