Just came back from Jewel where the main shelves of Fisher peanuts (all sale varieties) were wiped out, leaving only a couple of shelves on an end cap. If it’s so sad on the first afternoon of a sale, I would not bet any money on Friday shopping. They did have lots of the pretzels, but Pita read the ingredients and took a pass…or would that be a piss?

What to clip to your Jewel acct

I’ll be grabbing mushrooms and possibly celery (depends on the size of the bunch), but have already clipped the peanuts, toilet paper and pretzels, so add to your U™ account now before you forget. Cabbage is something we like, but don’t make often enough. Isn’t Brightly the name of Jewel’s paper towels? because having a shiny bright butt isn’t high on my list.
Jewel new week deals – a buck for luck
The Jewel preview ad offers quite a few $1 produce items worth grabbing, like mushrooms, coleslaw, bagged russet potatoes & onions and a smoking hot price on a 36 oz container of Fisher’s peanuts ($1.99 once you’ve clipped the $7 digital coupon).
Stopped in at Jewel today for a few more rice and broth after hitting up Amazon Fresh for dog food and five more pounds of vacuum-sealed, frozen salmon ($4.80/lb). Clearance cart was out but we’re talking tons of air fresheners for home and auto so even at 75% off, who needs ’em?
Jewel for four bits shopping
No clearance cart out :(, so loaded up with more of the 50¢ deals on rice, oatmeal and broth. There’s an Ibotta rebate for $2 (limit 5) on Perdue breaded chicken products & they’re BOGO, so 50¢ each after rebate; Bumble Bee chunk tuna in oil is 50¢ with a 25¢ Ibotta rebate (limit 5). btw, I saw this on a FB Jewel (and other stores) page; very helpful, so consider joining. Vinegar was over $5 at Amazon Fresh, so even buying it with free money would have felt so wrong!
a secret Jewel freebie?
Check your U™ account for unexpected freebies because Pita just got a free box of Bob’s Red Mill Instant Oatmeal Packets – I, of course, got squat. Plain, Brown Sugar & Maple and Apple Pieces & Cinnamon flavors shown.
Jewel shopping – wait, what???!!
Got another of those $15 off $35 Amazon Fresh coupons (think I’m up to 5), so I’ll be stocking up on half and half, toilet paper, potatoes, onions, tissue and things like that, since they won’t go bad or to waste around here. But thought I’d check out the Jewel produce since Brussel sprouts are $2.99/lb at Fresh and the Gorton’s fish might be a couple of bucks cheaper, but Jewel has them as a BOGO, so much better.
Took six of the broth boxes – $1.99 came off all to make them 50¢ each, so I might stop back in later in the week or I might not 🙂 Oatmeal is the small 18 oz containers and I’m used to getting deals on the 42 oz size. Artichokes were huge and well worth the 99¢ price for each.
For half a buck, Jewel gives a … deal?
Well, the Jewel preview ad is up and they’re offering Yoplait yogurt (limit 4) for 19¢ each as the Sizzlin’ Hot Offer. Frankly, you’d be better off just spooning sugar into your mouth. The only sale that looks decent is the oatmeal and rice since they’re things you can use year-round. Other than that, meh, although I’d grab a couple of sparkling waters if they include the unsweetened variety. And who wants to pay for taco seasoning when we’ve been trained for years to expect it for free 🙂
Jewel shopping? why?
I’ll hit up Jewel for 7¢ tuna and Pita had a reward expiring today, but those are the only Jewel items in this picture. What a change, right? The Hunts fire roasted tomatoes were $1 at Dollar Tree (as were Ro-Tel and Ramen 6-pks since they were on the $1 Extra Value shelves) – it was $1.49 at Jewel. And you can’t beat their Brownberry Ovens bakery prices!
possible MM on vegan cheese

Two Saturday Samplers showing up in this week’s ad, Violife vegan cheese and Starbucks Baya energy drinks. The Violife has a digital coupon for most of the products (clip now), so possibly offering a buck moneymaker towards the cart total. Add to your U™ account by Sunday and redeem by Monday. Other than that, I’m hoping to hit a clearance cart, ’cause they’re idea of deals ain’t mine ($6.49 for 121 oz of bleach!!!!!)
20 cent Quaker Instant Oatmeal

Jewel is running a Buy 5 get them for 99¢ promotion on Quaker products, plus an instant $3 saving when you spend $10. Promotion includes instant oatmeal and there are $1.25/2 tearpads conveniently nearby :). Total for the six boxes was $1.28, including low tax. While we might prefer steel cut oats, you can’t beat this deal. I scanned all six boxes before scanning three coupons and when I hit finish and pay, the $3 dropped off. Will I buy more before Tuesday? oh, puhleez, you really have to ask?
