There is nothing here that screams savings to me, frankly, in the Jewel ad for the upcoming week. Their bleach deals mean prices of almost $10 a gallon – even AmazonFresh is cheaper than that! I’ll stock up on the slightly less than a gallon bottles at Dollar Tree, thank you very much. Click on your U™ account and maybe you’ll see more to your liking. Exact same 99¢ produce picture; I was hoping for mushrooms for a cooking powder test.
two store e-coupons on cookies run through TOMORROW 3/31/2022:
“$2.00 off
Keebler Cookies
When you buy TWO 7.7-14.2-oz.
Coupon ; Unlimited use ; Expires: 03/31/22”
“$2.00 off
Mother’s Cookies
When you buy TWO 9-13.25-oz.
Coupon ; Unlimited use ; Expires: 03/31/22”
both brands are on $2.99 individual sale, and $1.99 after a Buy 5, Save $5.
hopefully: buy 6 (or do 2 or 4, and fill out with the Signature Select 4-lb sugar or 5-lb flour @ $1.49), and pay $0.99/each final!
now, there IS some ad inconsistency on whether the cookie buy-5 is the larger, mix-and-match “Buy 5 or more” or some separate/parallel “When you buy in multiples of 5”. the Keebler gets listed both ways, while Mothers (same manufacturer) is just listed the 2nd way.
IF it’s the 2nd, stricter way, you might have the 6th package in a transaction cost $1.99 versus $0.99, and not be able to mix-and-match Keebler and Mothers. …but i doubt it; i think the ad writer just got sloppy.
okay, based on clicking “Shop Deal” for “Save $1.00 on 5 Limit 0” on the website , the Keebler and Mothers cookies DO both look to be in the larger, more flexible, mix-and-match sale.
if i get different results in-store, i’ll report such.
Hot damn, you’re our Secret Shopper 🙂 I think Jewel is hurting ’cause lately I’ve seen the same stuff on the clearance cart from one visit to the next ’cause it’s so overpriced even normal shoppers give it a hard pass. Used to be the cart would go out & be cleared within a couple of hours.
the Pepsi/Starbucks + Bakery freebie combo offers haven’t been as good in recent months. for example, the current one:
“Buy Three Starbucks Baya ENERGY drinks 12 oz., Get one package of New 4 ct. Chocolate or Vanilla Cake Pops FREE (per customer in a single transaction)!
Mar 2nd – Jun 14th 2022”
nets you a bakery item that weighs like 5oz. however, this week, Baya is down from its usual $2.49 sale price, instead $1.99, so the deal is better.
there’s also possible enhancement with the tail end of another bottomless e-coupon that expires TODAY 3/31/22:
“$1.00 off
Starbucks Doubleshot, Tripleshot or Baya
When you buy FIVE 12-15-oz.
Coupon ; Unlimited use ; Expires: 03/31/22”
i’m on the fence as to whether the coupon’s worth using. you cannot get 2 bakery freebies per transaction, but it does effectively knock the marginal cost of Bayas #4 and #5 down to $1.49/each.
i’m inclined to say the coupon _isn’t_ worth it, though it depends on how much you value Bayas versus Cake Pops.
for illustration, an extreme example would be to buy:
1) (3 bayas + 1 cake pop 4-pack) * 5 transactions = $30
OR
2) (5 bayas + 1 cake pop 4-pack) * 3 transactions = $27
15 Bayas either way, but 1st way gets you 2 more Cake Pop 4-packs for just $3.
================
as for a great Bakery deal that *doesn’t* involve coupons, promos, or tiny items (or headache-causing accounting): Jewel-Osco 4-count muffins are B1G1F @ $5 this week.
*these* 4-packs run closer to 22oz each. 😛
===============
as for the $0.99 produce: 9oz watermelon cups have been swapped out for 9oz cantaloupe cups. these are convenience items i’d normally eschew, but i’ve very much enjoyed avoiding the labor of cutting up a melon, and not paying *too much* of a premium.
Wow! Thanks so much for the thoughtful analysis! That’s an incredible breakdown & correct on most deals lately. I might stop by later for the fruit cups because you’re right, there is a level of convenience mixed in along with the realization no one will eat anything after the first day & it’s gonna be compost. Have to check out some deals at Wags, so maybe stop afterwards.
another limited time stacking chance:

21 item linkages shown, but 4 are 12-packs. prices:
– singles = $1.00 / ea each (Original Price $1.19)
– 12-packs = $11.99 / ea each (Original Price $12.99)
manufacturer’s e-coupon, new:

Bottles Valid on Sparkling Ice® 17 oz. Bottles. Items
must appear on the same receipt.
Coupon ; One time use ; Expires: 04/19/22”
no linkages shown on the 2nd e-coupon (yet), so hopefully, they’ve gotten their act together in-store, making the stacking feasible by end of today 3/31.
another fleeting drink discount:
“$1.00 off
Rockstar Energy Drinks
When you buy FIVE 16-oz. cans.
Coupon ; Unlimited use ; Expires: 03/31/22”
they’re currently on sale for $1.67 (from Original Price $2.29), so pay $1.47/each final for 5.
i rarely buy standalone, 1-2 serving beverages, so i can’t say how good this price is. but it’s over 1/3 off regular price, and i noticed the coupon, so figured i’d mention it.
