yellow tail rebate PSA

If you have not yet mailed in your yellow tail rebate – DO NOT!!!  The current rebate form gets you $20 when you buy 12, but there is a new rebate form in the 12/11 CVS ad which gets you $36 when you buy 12!!  Yup, that’s right, $16 more bucks for the same amount purchased.  You have until 12/31/11 to purchase, 1/15/12 to get it postmarked and 1/31/12 for them to receive it.  As a matter of fact, you now have enough lead time to order coupons:  While I don’t see them on Dede, eBay has a Buy It Now for 10 coupons for $2.99.  You’d still be ahead…unless you grabbed those one or two packs at the Lisle Jewel customer service desk…

The rebate number is different on this one, so if you are planning on buying another case, go for it.   The Jewel sale is over and now the yellow tail is going for $6.49 after Preferred Card.  CVS, on the other hand, has it for 2/$11, a considerable difference.  They also offer the 10% off on six bottles or more.  So, let’s do the math here:  $5.50 x 12 = $66.  Take off 10% for the case price.  There is a tearpad on the CVS shelf for $4 off instantly when you buy 1 yellow tail with a 12 pack of Miller.  Well, hell’s bells, we need to buy the Miller for our $25 rebate, don’t we?  So 11 of the yellow tail coupons plus the $4 brings the cost down to $44.40.  Submit the receipt for $36 and you’ve just spent .70 per bottle!  Please call Emily if you want to order case amounts:  They carry Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.  If you plan to do the Miller/yellow tail rebates, you will need to have the Miller rung up separately but inform Emily (or cashier) that you are buying yellow tail and using the $4 coupon from buying the Miller.  They have no problem with this since they can’t print out duplicate receipts and you’re running two rebates.

The 12 packs of Miller are priced at $8.99 at CVS.

On another topic entirely, Emily says they are getting about 50 Norelco razors in per week, distributed on a first call – first get basis. Call the store on Thursday mornings at 7 am to have your razors put aside.

CVS – BF tripping – We owe you $22.94

Note:  The Naperville CVS store is starting to look like a Soviet commissary – empty shelves!  As of noon, they had $5,500 in sales.  Sold out of Theraflu, Benefiber and Cinnamon Toast Crunch; a few boxes of Corn Chex and Bayer Advance left.  They are substituting any of the GM cereals for the sale cereals.  They can’t issue rain checks for Bayer and Benefiber because these sizes were a special purchase.

Ran one full transaction of what’s still available.  1 LA Looks, 2 Listerine, 2 Benefiber, 2 Corn Chex, 1 Finish, 3 Norelco razors, 2 Bayer Advanced and 1 Breathe Right.  Total before coupons was $116.45.

I got a $3 off Breathe Right from the Magic Coupon Machine (woot!) and used a $1 ecb from my wallet.  After coupons I paid $9.95 – $7.33 was tax!   Got  back $22.94 in ecbs!

CVS – BF deals – update

Update: Emily has prepared ALL the rain checks. Just come in, mention your name and you’ll get your razors and your rain check.

First the good news (and the not-so-good news):  Enough Norelco razors came in that we will all get some, but not our entire order at this time.  Those who won ten coupons in the giveaway will get three razors now with a rain check for the other seven.  ouch, i know.  They ran the numbers given what they have and this is the best they can do right now.  The warehouse is pretty much cleared out, but Emily will keep ordering every week until all rain checks are filled.  Those of you who placed special orders in addition to the giveaway razors will be entitled to another three from that special order, with a rain check for the remainder.  Seriously, have you any idea of the number of these high-value razors that came in?  Hundreds…but they had orders for well over 500…

The Bayer Advance MM will be limited to two per person for the first couple of days – they’ll see how many are left on Saturday and then the floodgates can open.

Excedrin – Emily says that the recall stated all Excedrin, but since the 8 ct isn’t a normally-stocked item, they’re going to assume it isn’t part of the recall and have put it out for sale.  Sorry for the confusion, but I, for one, would rather be safe than sorry.  Of course if it were a money maker, all bets would be off.

Those of you who made appointments should probably call Emily on Wednesday after 4:30 to confirm.

Again, we all wanted more!, more!, more! but we’re just starting out with CVS and they’re trying to work with us.  This is just one store trying to accommodate a heck of a lot of special orders (I know the store manager is wigging out at all the stuff being delivered … wondering if he is gonna get stuck with it).  I’m in the same boat as you, not thrilled, but realistic enough to see that this store really wants to work with us (but boy they’ve never before seen extreme couponers).

CVS Excedrin PSA

Apparently there has been a recall issued for Excedrin, so CVS will not be able to sell it (Emily says the register won’t even process the transaction should you find one).  Ask about a rain check, since you are not using a coupon and it’s only free, not a money maker.

CVS – Newton thins

Newton Thins are on sale 2/$5, which might be a high price, but not compared to the usual $4+.  I just received a tearpad of $1 off Newtons (any variety), so I left most of them at the Naperville CVS a short while ago.  Expiration date is 11/30/11, so not a lot of time left.  Didn’t know I’d get the coupons, I couldn’t alert Emily, but get a rain check and pick them up on Wednesday the 30th (the next earliest delivery).  OMG are these good! The Double Stuf Oreos were part of the 4/$5 with a $1 ecb.  I used the .75/2 from 11/13 s with no beeping.  obviously ymmv

CVS BF deals

I’ve already spoken with Emily at CVS about these, so you can be certain of stock.  There will be one end cap set up with only FREE items – additional supplies will be placed behind the front counter, so there won’t be any of that “have to check in the back” stuff.  I would suggest that those of you getting the razors and looking for overage items print out this post and put all this FREE after ecbs into your cart.  This seems the best way to parlay this deal into a super MM.

11/20-23 ad

Filippo Berio olive oil.  $3.99.  HCW shows a $1 coupon in 10/16 S, but I couldn’t find it in the Trib, so maybe just regional?   Try this link for an IP.

Small boxes of Oreos, Cheez-it, Nutter Butter and Lorna Doone are 4/$5 with a buck ecb.  Use the .75/2 from 11/13 S and get some Oreos for $2.50/4 (after ecb).  Note that you can only get cookies with this coupon because the weight requirement is 6 oz and up.

Ricola drops are 2/$3, get back $1 ecb.  Use the BOGO from 10/2 S.  The HCW data base shows both a $1.50 and $1 in the 10/30 s, but I don’t see them – maybe a regional coupon?  Would have made it extra sweet.

Excedrin extra strength and Excedrin PM are a bonus pack (8 ct) for .99.  No coupons available, but this sale is repeated on the next ad with a different offer number.  Limit one per card.

11/24 ad

I admit to liking this one a whole lot more.  And not just ’cause it’s got the razors…

GM Chex cereal is the best choice among the cereals; I say this because they’re gluten-free.  Pay $2.87 with $2 ecb.  Use the $1/2 on coupons.com and SmartSource.com for 37¢ boxes of gluten-free Chex!  Print out the Cinnamon Toast Crunch coupons if you’d like to go that way.  Limit 2 per card.  You can bet I’ll be stocking up on this, ’cause the cereal prices are gonna skyrocket, just you wait and see.  Goddess told you to hit up the Amazon Skippy deal, now, didn’t she?  Have you checked their prices lately on peanut butter?  thought so…

Finish Quantum 10 ct is FREE after $2.99 ecb.  $1q in 10/23 S.  Limit 1 per card.

Listerine Pocketpaks 3 pk. FREE after $2.99 ecb.  Use .50 from 10/9 rp.  Limit 2 per card.

L.A. Looks styling gel FREE after $2.49 ecb.  Use $1 in 10/9 rp.  Limit 1 per card.

Carmex lip balm are FREE after $1 ecb.  Use the .30 from 10/30 rp for a little MM.  Limit 1 per card.

Theraful caplets and trial packets are both FREE after ecbs.  Use the $3/2 from 9/25 S for a $3 MM!  Limit one each per offer, so that’s what you’re buying!

Fiber One bars are FREE after ecb.  Use .40 from 10/2 GM insert.  Limit 1 per card.

The Revlon nail polish only goes down to .99, but there’s a limit of 6 per card, so if you’re looking for stocking stuffers, it’s a good deal.  The $1 insert coupon only covered implements and the Top Speed enamel line isn’t included in the deal.

Bayer Advanced aspirin is .99.  This is NOT an ecb deal and there is no limit on purchases.  The 10/23 rp has a $1.50 coupon on any size package, so we’re lookingat .51 overage on each item.  Toss a bunch of these into the razor mix….woot$$

Benefiber stick 3ct package is FREE after $1.49 ecb.  There is a $2 coupn in 10/16 S on any size package, so a $2 MM.

Zantac 150 is $6.99 after $2 ecb.  Use the Zantac, Any 24 Ct. Or Larger – Powered By SmartSource IP and pay !.99.  There were also tearpads and home mailers on this stuff, so if you have any, use ’em up now.  Limit 1 per card.

Osteo Bi-Flex are $19.99 with $3 ecb.  Use the $6 coupon from 11/06 rp to get them half-price.

Colgate Max clean, etc. FREE after $2.87 ecb.  I can’t see what we actually got in Chicago, so check it out for a very small MM.

And my very favorite match-up?  The iChill relaxation shot, which is FREE after $5.29 ecbs stacked with the Sheets energy strips, FREE after $3.99 ecbs.  Don’t leave home without them!

CVS reminder

Just a heads up for those of you either picking up their razors from the giveaway or those who placed/will place special orders:  This sale is only a three-day one, for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  You will have to purchase these when Emily is working because the high value coupon requires a mgr code (this is the same for Wags).

Emily has given me her schedule for this upcoming week, so plan accordingly.  Some of the giveaway winners have not yet called her to set up a day and time for pick-up…if you don’t show up, the Goddess will be disappointed…but considerably richer.  You have been warned.

Emily’s CVS schedule, starting 11/20:

Sunday   3 – close
Tuesday 3 – close
Wednesday 4:30 – close
Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) 7 – 3
Friday (Black Friday) SHE WILL BE OFF
Saturday 7 – 3 Has family plans and will be leaving AT 3! So don’t show up at 2:50 and pat yourself on the back, ’cause the Goddess will get even richer.

If you are planning on placing special orders for next week, you only have until Friday (tomorrow) morning to place them – the holiday has thrown off the ordering/delivery schedule.

lots of new IPs today!

$1.00 off two boxes Post cereals
$1.00 off one Alka-Seltzer Plus product
$1.00 off 11oz+ bag of Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee
$2.00 off one Coricidin HBP product
2.00 off any Afrin Nasal Spray

I particularly like the high-value personal care/health coupons:  $2 off Afrin, REMBRANDT and Coricidin?  This stuff should be MMs with a Walgreens or CVS deal.

CVS – quick little MM

The small size cans (2.5 oz) of Gillette Fusion shaving gel and the plain Gillette blue can are both generating $2 ecbs – use the $1 coupon in the November P&G to make these a slight money maker.  The Fusion rings up at 2.37, while the blue can is 1.69 (?).  Weird, I know.  The satellite system was down, which means no ecbs.  They put the $4 onto a gift card, which works even better for me.  So 1.55 MM after taxes.  Oh, I almost forgot:  limit one ecb per card.

Wandered around for a while, trying to see what we could get a deal on.  The only thing that immediately jumped out at me was the cashews on BOGO which is great since they are also part of the Spend $30 get a $10 gift card promotion.
Buy 10 and pay for five at $5.79.  Brings you to $28.95, which probably won’t trigger the card.  Then I saw this display of holiday M&Ms for 2/$5, remembered that $1.50 Mars IP I still had and did some quick math:  $28.95 + $2.50 = $31.45.  Subtract the 1.50 and you’re at $29.95 and get back a $10 gift card, so $19.95 for 10 cans of almonds and a big-ass bag of M&Ms.  What more do you need in life?  If you’re going to be doing any holiday baking or throwing a party, less than two bucks a can for cashews is crazy-low.

CVS Black Friday ads – two

Sorry for the delay…I got these a while ago and kinda forgot I hadn’t hit publish.  I’m looking at the two CVS ads for Thanksgiving week:  There’s Nov. 20-23 and a Nov. 24 to 30.  I’m going to keep adding to this one and bumping it up.

First wonderful thing I see is Blue Diamond almonds at 2/$4.  The Nov. 20 insert has a .75/2 coupon which brings down your OOP to 2/$3.25 for two cans!  Since it’s not an ECB deal, there is no limit!  Some areas/newspapers got a $1/2 coupon in the 10/16 S – Chicago got rocks.  CVS carries four varieties:  natural, salt, light sale and smokehouse.  The naturals are fantastic for baking.
