As I said in an earlier post, the only good things I see at Wags this week are the Schick Hydro razors and the Nivea lip balms.  Pay attention to the razors you select because some of them have a peelie on the front for a free can of Hydro shaving cream; naturally those are the ones I picked!  Total of 7 razors and shaving creams (each razor/cream is a separate transaction) and 12 Nivea lip products.  OOP of $34.49 and got back $28 in RRs (7 x $4).  Don’t forget that you still end up paying high tax on even the free stuff!

Don’t forget, tomorrow is the last day you can use your P&G insert coupons on the Pantene Beautiful Lengths shampoo and conditioner.  Free is always good.  Used this stuff last night and it’s nice, so will definitely stock up.  Since tomorrow is also the last day of the library 15% discount promotion, I’ll probably be out in back helping them unload the truck.

Well, the truck actually was late coming in today (and yes I checked), decided to pick up the Blue Diamond almonds to feed my addiction (hello chris).  Using the in-ad Wags coupon makes them $1.99 each and there is a $1/1 coupon in the 8/22 S.  Since I wanted to use up a $5 cat from the Nutrisse, I threw in a cow tail as filler and didn’t bother with my discount.  (OK, you got me, i forgot.)  Still, it worked out to be .48, which is not too much to get the monkey off my back.

Walgreens is running a buy 2, get $2 RR and a promotion (on the shelf tag) for 50% off the second product.  Normally, this wouldn’t be a great deal, but there are $2 coupons in the 8/29 P&G insert for the Beautiful Lengths products.  Since my local library promotion is running through September, I was able to get an additional 15% off the price.  To recap:  $8 (for 2 products) less two $2 P&G coupons, less 50% off second item = $2 but then you get the $2 RR.  In my case, the transactions actually resulted in small MMs because of the 15% extra discount ($1.47  to get $2 RR).  NOTE:  These P&G coupons expire 9/30, so be sure to hit Wags no later than Thursday evening.  Also, check to see if they are running any special library promotions in your area, as I’ve heard of other local libraries also participating.  credit to the drama queens at CW.

Do you ever feel like a store should just set up a cot in the back and charge you rent?  Starting to feel this way about Wags.  After a serious dry spell in which I didn’t set foot in a Walgreens for weeks (horrors), I find myself visiting the two closest stores almost daily.

Picked up the four Garnier and 18 more Trident (hey, you can never be too rich or have too much gum – forget the slim part) for a total OOP of $7.77.  But wait, there’s more!…..got a $5 cat for the Garnier, so what do you want to call it, OOP $2.77?  your call…, but my basement is starting to look like a Sally’s Outpost.

Kim got back to me with the Wags location info:  The Wags at the corner of New York St. & Eola Rd. in Aurora.  (BTW, I did leave some).  Here’s a picture of my fragrant purchase…..My note here:  This rocks!

Thought I was done for the day when I got an email from Kim, who said:
Be on the lookout!  Found a great deal in the clearance aisle at Wags this afternoon.  Glade Scented Oil candleholders on clearance for $.94.  A quick look through the handy binder…and behold!  Coupons for “Buy a Glade candleholder and get the Scented Oil candles for Free”.  So, left the clearance aisle, headed over to the cleaning aisle and found them to be on sale 2/$5…plus get $1 RR.  Ok, so the deal goes….Buy 2 Glade candleholders and 2 Glade Oil refills, pay $1.88, get back $1 RR.  (And, in my case, repeat 4 times!).   Yay! More smelly stuff we don’t really need!

Well, that was all the impetus I needed to fly out the door.  Unfortunately, sigh, my Lisle/Naperville area Wags did not have the candle holders on clearance yet.  As soon as I learn which stores have these, I’ll update this post.  In the meantime, though, it turned out to be a not-so-bad couple of trips.   The first Wags had no Gain, no gum and only eight haircolors, so I grabbed the Dulcolax for the overage ($8 printable and $2 Wags September booklet).  Total here was about $17, but remember, I got back $10 in RRs.

Next Wags (hi, Ron!) had four Nutrisse, 4 Gain and 18 Trident gums (in spearmint for my PITA son).  Ended up with an OOP of $8.03, but got back $5.  I’d say it was worth the trip! The Gain is on sale with an in-ad coupon for .89, which I paired with a mfr of $1/1 (8/29 P&G); the Trident was on sale with an in-ad coupon for .79 which I paired with a $1/2 from the September booklet and a $1/3 (9/12 S1), which made it a MM.  The Nutrisse is all on rainchecks for 5.99.  Using my library card gives me an extra 15% discount on everything.  The $5 Garnier catalina is set to expire later this week, so if I don’t get all my hair colors before then, I’ll just get any colors they have in sets of four and then exchange them for others at a later date.  It’s easy peasy!
