Hey, Jewel, remember me?

Update note:  My Jewel has placed large orders for HC soups, Pam, 6 pk Snapple and Hunts tomatos and snack cups.  If your Jewel has bare shelves, keep the Lisle (on Rte 53) Jewel in mind.   and let’s hope the Jewel warehouse gods are smiling on us…

Picked up PITA and thrilled her to the marrow when she heard me say those words from long-ago days:  “Let’s run a few Con-Agra’s at Jewel.”  Yes, it’s the little things in life…

Ran three transaction in a row, mainly to get the Snapple rebates out before I forget.  My total OOP for three transactions was $3.20, but that did include a few of the Wags $10 Neuragen RRs, some HC coupons and the $1 coupons for Snapple.  I found another $1/1 Garden Delight coupon and wanted to use up the last 3 of the Free Sobe coupons from that botched game.  Since we’re having steak tacos tonight (con ¡Porterhouse!), I threw in two cans of Rosarita spicy Jalapeño refried beans.  olé.  Was planning on going back with my receipts and HC and Rosarita coupons, but decided to keep them for another go-round.

Jewel gift card update

For those of you who have not yet received your Jewel gift cards from the Kimberly-Clark deal, here’s a picture of what they look like:  they’re purdy!  There doesn’t seem to be any order to the way they’re being mailed.  The form for the card pictured was mailed about a week after one that has not yet been received.

Jewel

Decided to stop at the “Hispanic” Jewel on 75th.  You know, the one that always has all the pierogi flavors – real Mexican, that Mrs. T!  Wanted to see if perchance they had the Nature’s Farm milk with the $2 coupons attached…they did!  Unfortunately, they only had the fat free (yuck!).  Picked up two of the milks and one Ronzoni Garden Delight so OOP was only .10.  I did get one of the new coupon booklets (with the strawberries on the cover) and the last four of those pesky milk coupons which jumped ship into my purse.  quel surprise!

Jewel

It’s kind of freaky, walking into Jewel lately.  Especially since I’m very limited in what I can buy…well, take for free, OK?  Case in point:  9 boxes of the Ronzoni Garden Delight pasta, on sale through, I believe April, at 10/$10…which pairs up nicely with the $1/1 coupon in 1/23 S.  There were only a few of the Nature’s Farm milks left and only one had the $2/1 coupon attached, although there was a tearpad of $1/1 coupons on the side of the cooler.  as if that could tempt me! So, here we have the entire order:  2 milks (BOGO, $1/1 and $2/1); 1 hot giardiniera and 2 El Ranchero tortilla chips.  Total after coupons came to $13.19, so handed over a $10 RR and the rest in cash….I would have used a $3 RR, but that would have gone into tax…nononononono never.  don’t ask.

Jewel Deals of the Week

nuttin’.  you already got your pot.  go back to bed…or Dominicks.

Notice:  this post will be repeated until the February cats start, ’cause there ain’t no party happening here.

Jewel cat alert – We Need Deals!

Hunts snack pack $1 ring  $1.90

Healthy Choice Soup $1.25 ring $2.25
Hunts canned tomatoes $1 ring $1.45

Obviously there are going to be lots more items and coupon match-ups, but this is a starter for you…a teaser you might say.   Don’t forget that there are lots of juicy coupons in the newest Dominicks $70 coupon booklet; Con Agra also mails out coupon booklets several times a year.

A Visit to Jewel

Who says you can’t go home again?  I visited the old homestead today to say hello (and to pick up my pots).  It’s a source of major amusement to management that I can accumulate pots when I DON’T SPEND ANY MONEY!! Well, isn’t that the extreme couponer’s game plan?

Ooh, ooh, ooh

or stuff I keep forgetting to post about…

If you’re looking for the $70 Football coupon booklets, avoid the Danada Square Dominicks.  An empty display at the front door with no other display anywhere in the entire friggin’ store and most employees clueless.  Asked at cs and the young man gave me one.  You know you’re screwed when they’ve turned young men into coupon nazis.

Update on the K-Clark $25 Jewel gift card rebates: Peeps who sent in for their rebates within the first few days of the promotion have already started getting their cards in the mail.  Catch is that they are coming CERTIFIED MAIL!  Yep, so far it’s 100%, so if you get a notice in your mailbox, that’s what it is.  Please notify any and all who may or may not be getting a gift card in the mail so they’re aware of it…

Changes at Supervalu (Jewel parent)

Or maybe Jewel’s cruel stepmother…. This is an article from Supermarket News on changes that the Jewel CEO has implemented recently in a futile effort to drag us back from Dominicks.   Give this clown a basket of Shoppers Value imitation cheese and kick his ass down the road all the way back to Walmart, from whence he came…

Thanks to vanchan on CW for the OP.

Bye-bye pot stamps

Last day for the stamps, so I decided to run the Perdue chicken strips rebate purchases while I could get the most mileage (free isn’t good enough).  Each transaction included 2 boxes of the chicken (for the Purdue MIR) and other assorted items for which I had free or greatly reduced coupons to bump up the total to $10.  Then I brought that balance down with RRs.
