money-making shampoo & conditioner @ Wags

Photo.jpg

Combine the $2 Fructis coupons in the 1/12 rp with the “Spend $30 get 5,000 bonus points” coupon on the cover of today’s Walgreen’s ad and the 3,000 points when you spend $15 on participating Garnier product and what do you get? Lots more free shampoo and conditioner (high tax, though).

The shampoos and conditioners are on sale for $4 for the first and $2 for the second (B1G1 50% off).  Buy 10 and you’ll pay $30.  Use ten of the $2 shampoo/conditioner coupons from the rp and you’ll be at $12.78 ($2.78 is tax).  You will get back 11,000 points (5,000 bonus + 3,000 + 3,000), so a $1 money-maker.  If  you buy treatment and styling products, you’ll pay slightly more OOP (use second set of $2 coupons in the 1/12 rp).

Note that the bonus coupon in the Walgreens ad is only valid through 1/14/14.

Walgreens clearance Panetonne

Photo.jpg

Walgreens by me has all their Christmas stuff marked down 75% (well, not all ’cause they’re bagging up the stuffed toys, etc. to store until next year – ick).  Picked up two of these Panetonne breads for $3.70 total, so used 3,000 points and 70¢.  I plan to make French toast with these tomorrow and store the leftovers in zips for fast breakfasts during the school week.

The trick is to let the bread dry out sightly, so I’ll take the loaf out of the wrapping, cut it into thick slices and let them dry out overnight.  Egg wash tomorrow and cooked in butter…although, now that I think about it, I’m gonna use coconut oil instead!  Between that and the sweetness of the bread, you really don’t need syrup.  And if you have younger kids, it’s great to slice the finished product into strips, so they can feed themselves without making a mess.

out & about shopping during a heat wave

Photo.jpg

Hey, if you compare today’s 5º high to yesterday’s -17, the teenage white boys are gonna be wearing shorts!  Stopped off at Walgreens to see if the Colgate $1.50 RR was still working on the .75 oz travel size – it was!  While I read about this much earlier, there was no reason to face the elements for the possibility of a free tube of toothpaste.

Photo.jpg Stopped at Jewel for tortillas and naturally gravitated towards the clearance cart. Lots and lots of Planters nut mixes (chocolate, butter toffee & more) – there’s a $1/2 coupon in the 11/17 S. Also lots of Pringles holiday flavor chips like Pecan Pie and Cinnamon for 40¢ a can – use the $1/4 coupon from 1/5 rp2.  They pulled out another large load of the Betty Crocker Pumpkin Bars pouches for 25¢ – use the .75/2 from 12/15 S for overage.

My first thought on the Pringles Pecan Pie was that it was gonna be a total yuckfest.  I wanted the two cans of cinnamon, but some guy ahead of me grabbed them both – he didn’t have coupons so paid the full 40¢ price – sucker!  These are actually kinda cool-tasting!  And I shall probably grab a few more cans…

Return of the cheap Norelco electric razor

Philips Norelco 1150X/40 SensoTouch 2D Electric Razor is $89.99 on Amazon with a $30 promo code.  Since it’s the same deal at Walgreens (except for tax), choose your poison.

Walgreens has the on sale for $89.99 – down from $129.99.  Use promo code NORELCO30 and the price drops to $59.99 and shipping is FREE.

and if you need more cheap Tide

Photo1.jpg
Let’s face it, I am probably the last person is the world to be buying more Tide (or any laundry detergent for that matter) cause you all know I’m just not that clean, but since the numbers worked on paper, I wanted to make sure everything was good – it was.

This week Walgreens has a P&G promotion where you Spend $30 on P&G products in the ad and receive a $10 RR; since the total is over $30, you’ll also get a $5 Jingle Cash.  Ring my bells indeed, the $5 is only valid next week on orders of $30 or more.  pah

I bought the four Tide ($5.99 each) and two Pantene (2/$8), used four $2 Tide coupons and a $3/2 Pantene coupon from the December P&G insert.  Since I wanted to pay with two $10 RRs, I picked up two M&Ms for .49 each with in-ad coupon.  Total was $4.33 ($2.39 tax!) and I got back a $10 P&G RR and the aforementioned – stupid – Jingle Cash.  You may have need for more Tide, but I wanted to just top $30 and I can use the shampoo in our bathroom soap dispensers.

So now I’ve got a collection of P&G RRs that I should be able to use at Jewel…the new owners are starting to piss me off.

50% off Creed Aventus @ Walgreens.com

Creed Aventus is a men’s fragrance that retails for over $300 for the 4 oz size – ouch!  Even on Amazon it’s pricey…so let’s check out Walgreens, where it’s available for shipping (not at stores, so no RRs!) and on sale and with a promo code and free shipping!  It can’t get better than that, right?  The above is on sale for $191.99, use promo code SCENT20 for 20% off ($38.40) and you’ll pay $153.59 –  over half off.

Because if you really like a product, save on the things where you aren’t brand/product specific and splurge on your must-haves.
