Huggies at Wags – I was wrong

I fully believed the info I posted yesterday, but apparently what was showing in the Wags computer wasn’t quite accurate.  If you do want to run this deal using the 6/12 rp coupon, remember that Steve will only accept expireds back a couple of days or so.

I see that some couponing blogs are posting the Huggies at Wags going for .99.  I’d be posting that too, but there’s just one problem:  It doesn’t work like that.  Tomorrow’s ad shows Huggies 64 and 72 pk on sale for $2.49 (regular price is $3.49).  The blogs are subtracting the $1 IVC from July and the .50/1 from 6/12 rp (which expires 7/9) from this $2.49 price, which would bring the cost down to .99.

Unfortunately, it appears that the $2.49 sale price already includes that $1 coupon.  Walgreens has been doing this more and more lately;  I’ve been fooled by shelf tags that tout this sale price in LARGE NUMBERS and then underneath see “after IVC discount.”  cheaty rat bastards…

Of course, if I’m wrong and the Walgreens’ computer system is lying to me about tomorrow prices, then you never read this post that I didn’t publish…the end

Coupon Dede

Don’t forget that the sweet 20% off sale ends tomorrow, July 9 at midnight.  I just put in an order for 100 of the Lumene $4 coupons, since it’s looking reallll good for Wags (I’ve been working on this for weeks now and it’s just killing me to not be able to spill my guts).  If all else fails with Walgreens, I still will be able to clear out all the area CVS stores (you are now getting what I call fair warning), since it’s not an ecb item and thus, no limits.  I totally love the Vitamin C one and considering I’m picking up an amount equivalent to a full jar for $1…yeah, it pays to stock up.

I also put in a “small” order for the MotrinPM, since I only have about 36 inserts from that week.  well, i think that’s all, but i haven’t yet started clipping.

Wags and Cottonelle – UPDATE

OK, here’s the scoop on why the Cottonelle cats aren’t printing (for the most part) at Walgreens.  The UPC that works is 0 36000 13396 7.  This package was discontinued at Walgreens a very long time ago (at least a year).  We are talking about some seriously old stuff here, folks (and I’d definitely be checking dates on the meds).  That old package had rolls containing 167 sheets, while the new large ones only contain 148 sheets.  hmmmmm.  So if you’re looking to score this great deal AND SINCE IT’S A NATIONAL CATALINA, check out your Jewel and Dominicks, etc. using this UPC and see what turns up.

I didn’t post this earlier, because, frankly, I HAVE TONS OF TP AND FIGURED YOU DID, TOO!  That said, perhaps you didn’t pick up the 4 bazillion I did and are interested in the following national catalina promotion which was scheduled to start today.  Walgreens has the 12 pk of the large roll Cottenelles on sale for $5.

Buy two for $10.00.
Use two $.50/1 printables = $9.00. The print limit has already been reached, but if you have some you printed out earlier…
Get back $3.50 for an OOP of $5.50/2, or $2.75 a 12 pack.  without the coupons you’re at $3.75 each 12 pack

-or-

Buy three for $15.00.
Use three $.50/1 printables = $13.50.
Get back $4.50, for an OOP of $9.00/3, or $3.00 per 12 pack.  without the coupons you’re at $3.83.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a severe glitch in the system, because some Walgreens are generating the cat and most others are not.  I am waiting for a list of working UPCs which I will have Wheaton run through their computer system.  Until then?  Hold off for another day.  If your store is sold out, get a rain check (which would be the best way to handle this).

Walgreens – Chicagoland

By now I’m sure you’ve all heard that Walgreens is testing curbside pickup in selected markets, the Chicagoland area being one of them.  How it works is you place your order online using your choice of local stores (you select one based on zip code).  Place your order and go from there.  Remember, not everything in the store is available online (which kinda sucks) AND you cannot use coupons to pay (either RRs or mfr) although you can place the order and they will fill it and you can then pick it up at the photo counter.

Having said all the bad things, remember, this is just a test, so there will always be things to work out.  I think it’s kinda neat and hope it expands, both in products, coupon use and territory.  That said, if you are planning on placing an order, here’s a promo code to take $5 off your first order of $20 or more:  FIRST5.  Code expires 7/16.

Walgreens 7/10

Walgreens has a monthly BOGO deal on the Noxzema razors, a bunch of ’em who cares about, but the bikini razors and the other smaller packs are only $3.49.  Only?!  Are you insane?  Well, yes, thanks for noticing, but the fact is that this Sunday’s Red Plum has a $2/1 Noxzema coupon in it good for most of the cheapies.  While it’s not a big MM, the fact is, you can buy two packs and a candy bar for tax…hmmmm….candy…

Wags – 7/10-16 – update

Not much is going on at Wags over the next week or two, but unadvertised stuff hits the fan all the time, so I wouldn’t take a long nap just yet.  Here’s a few things coming down the pike for the sale starting July 10:

Wags brand women’s 6-blade razor system will be on sale for $3.99 with $4 Register Reward.  If you have not yet accumulated a razor stockpile, this would be a good time to pick up a few (or ten) until a MM comes along.  Theresa at the Montgomery Wags tells me she has stockpiled at least a hundred of these, so give her a call or drive over.  Don’t really understand this need for multiple razor blades.  Maybe two or three, but what happens at 15?  Would you need to prop up your elbow just to hold the razor?  Maybe by then they’ll come with wall mounts…

Hyland’s teething gel will be on sale for $5 with a $5 Register Reward.  At first I thought it said Highland and immediately thought of whiskey instead of a homeopathic remedy.  Print out this $1 hylands teething pdf coupon and you’ll have a small MM.

EOS (stands for Evolution of Smooth) products are supposed to be da bomb, though I’ve never personally tried them.  Their shaving creams and lip balms will be on sale for 2/$6 with a $4 Register Reward.  No coupons out there yet, except for $1 peelies for the shaving cream on some BIC Soleil disposable shavers.

The Soft Soap hand soaps will be on sale for .99.  No coupons out there at present and usually they are low-value ones, but some people can’t live without this stuff, so that’s why I’m putting it out there.

Coupon Dede

Just received an email that Coupon Dede is having a 20% off sale on all her coupons (including Sunday’s PG inserts).  Just type JULY20 and get 20% off your entire order.

The only coupons worth getting right now (that I can see) would be either the Lumene $4 ones currently showing at .40 each (even if Steve can’t get the product – long story – you can always pick them up for free at CVS through 8/15) and/or the $1 coupons for MotrinPM currently listed for .10 each.  While not a huge MM, this time around Steve has already stockpiled 500 boxes and will be ordering more.  If you’re looking for any other coupons, just click on the sidebar banner.

I show Walgreens the love

While this is mostly Wags, the Pringles came from CVS (free from the magic coupon machine) and the three puny cans of fish food were from PetSupplies Plus – they only get three in at one time…the CVS of the petcare world.

As I said, this is mostly a Walgreens haul:  used up the last 25 coupons on the Seattle’s Best coffee; wiped out Wheaton’s supply of the Noxema bikini razors; cleared out the Cortaid from Lisle and two from Wheaton (lots more folks!).  Do I need all this Cortaid?  Hell no, but the last week or two have been real slow on the Wags front and I believe in supporting our stores as much as possible.  Since the Cortaid is low tax, wipe out Wheaton and Montgomery just to keep their sales numbers up.

One thing to keep your eyes open for is the Gillette Shave to Shower Gift Set from Father’s Day.  It’s down to $3.74! which works out really, really nice with that $4 Proglide razor coupon.  just sayin Total OOP at Lisle was .52 and .26 at Wheaton.

Walgreens – Lisle

Just got back from trying out the Crystal Light Kraft catalina promotion:  Spend $15 and get a $3 RR.   Buttttttt, you may have some problems here.  I tried four of the boxes pictured, which brought me to just under $16.  Handed over the four $1 coupons (6/12 S) and then the Wags in-ad coupon.  Total with tax was $4.10.  NO CAT PRINTED.

Tried using four boxes and no coupons – Cat printed.  So at this point I can’t be sure if it’s not being triggered due to the mfr or the Wags coupon.  My best guess (actually, it’s Rachel’s guess) is that it’s from the Wags in-ad coupon adjusting the price down to $1.99.   At that price you are paying less than $8, so not reaching the threshold.

We tried the Crystal Light tea which was marked $3.99 on the shelf but ringing up $2.50 (marked “sale”).  So stay away from the tea (unless you really, really, really like it) ’cause it’s a much worse price since you have to buy a total of 6 to hit the threshold.

So my advice?  ymmv.  sorry, but that’s all I can say…except:  If you do try this, please comment and let us know which Wags you tried and whether or not it worked.  Thanks.

Wags deals?

I’ve got to stop second-guessing myself about what constitutes a deal and what doesn’t.  In this case, I saw that Wags was having sales on some of the Sally Hansen waxing products, from $5.99 to $3.99.  Not so great, huh?  But use the $3/1 Sally Hansen wax product coupons from coupons.com and you’re looking at .99, which is obviously a much sweeter deal.  This deal is located on the personal care page.

Don’t know how long they’ll keep this coupon out there, so if you have any interest at all, better print them out now (2 per computer, not printer).
