Walgreens

Great news!   The Lumene wheels have finally started rolling.  I just got off the phone with Terry (the senior BA at the Wheaton Wags) who told me that they are expecting a shipment of 200 of the Vitamin C .5 oz jars tomorrow.  This is only the start, since 200 obviously won’t go very far.  The mfr rep is also trying to bring in some of their other skin care lines.

Please call Terry (630/682-2599) or any of the Wheaton managers to place your orders.  I know some of you are looking at sizable quantities, but it might take a week or two to get in the amounts we are used to dealing with.

A side benefit of this deal is that Wheaton now has lots of samples of various Lumene products, so see what the rest of the line can do for you.  Any interest in setting up a Lumene day at Wags with lots of products to test/sample and the manufacturer rep there to answer your questions?

    • Of course CVS doesn’t have stock! Why would you think they would? Wheaton is pricing the .5 oz jars at $3.99! I told Steve that it wasn’t likely any of my readers would want to shell out cash for stuff. Besides, the Wag online store already sells it for $3.99. I’ve told Terry to release anything they might be holding for me – I’ll wait until the next one or two shipments. She’s also trying to bring in some of the other Lumene items in that aren’t currently being offered (like the make-up remover cloths, which are supposed to do an awesome job of removing ALL make-up). If you are looking for something in particular, please let Terry know.

btw, certain CVS stores actually charge over $4 for this stuff.

  1. If you can get us a morning, bring the rep in, I’d be interested.
anything to get out of the office and actually meet normal people.

oh wait, anyone that’s here isn’t ‘normal’ are we?

do you think you could get MUM to come over??

    • No, that’s what she’s always charged for them. It’s a high-value coupon, so a high price. I took 100 when she was running that 20% off promotion and then used some credits from past purchases . Check and see if you have enough credits to make a different (400 credits takes off a buck). You can always check eBay, but I rarely bother, unless Dede is out or putting those stupid limits on them. Ooooh, that’s right, on eBay there is a 20 coupon limit per auction, so you’d have to buy a bunch of auctions and hope you won them all or limited yourself to Buy It Nows.

OK, just checked eBay. You’re insane!!! Grab Dede’s coupons while she still has them in stock! I may buy more myself, rather than dealing with eBay prices (.60 each?! wtf)!

  2. So is there a deal for this stuff or no? And will it help with dark bags under the eyes?

Also, might as well ask you here, what is high-tax? Is there a low-tax? I thought there was just food tax, which is like 1%, and then all other tax, which is 8% or whatever it’s at now.

And BTW I have that DVD on hold, but the person still hasn’t returned it. Probably got lost in her house full of 500 boxes of cereal and such.

    • Yes, Justin, there is a high tax and a low tax. Low tax is on food (unlike other states that don’t charge you to eat), so less than 2%. High tax varies, depending on what town and county you live in – Chicago sucks donkey balls for tax. Strangely enough, it’s hard to determine sometimes what will be high and what will be low. Case in point: The Celsius green tea drink sold at Walgreens came in two flavors, the peach and the raspberry-something. One was low tax the other flavor was high tax. Snickers candy bars? high tax. Twizzlers licorice? low (food) tax.

The DEAL for Lumene is that it is very expensive in the jars (20-$30 each), but they have these small .5 size jars for $3.99 (big jars are only 1.7 oz). Since we can buy $4/1 coupons from CouponDede (or eBay), we are getting the products for the cost of a coupon and tax (which will be lower because the three jars are only a total of $12, not $20). win-win

AND, it’s a GREAT line of skincare products.

Oh, and Jill’s DVD? It not due until the 24th, so stop whining.

        • Oh and yes I knew about the high/low tax, I just never heard it referred to as that. I always referred to it as food tax and regular tax. However, I had no idea that it varied so much. I figured it’d be as simple as “most food”, instead of it varying per item for no reason.

          • If it were only something simple like food and nonfood items I’d understand, but to say something like Twizzler would be food because it has flour in it and one flavor of Celsius is food and the other isn’t…well, no one ever accused politicians of having excess common sense.
