Valvoline MaxLife NextGen 10W30 High Mileage Motor Oil – 1 Quart, (Pack of 6) for $29.99 (28% off) with FREE shipping.  Finished motor oil is generally made from 85% base oil and 15% additives. The “oil part” of motor oil doesn’t really wear out. As oil goes through the drain cycle in the engine, it’s the additives that wear out. At the same time, contaminants like fuel, metals and sludge build-up in the oil. The vast majority of oil molecules do not break down and are fully reusable. The recycled oil in NextGen goes through a multi-stage refining process to remove contaminants and additives to create fresh base oil. Then Valvoline adds award-winning chemistry to create new oil performance that’s 50% recycled.

All kidding aside, I’m big into recycling, re-using, regifting(!) and this is a great price considering they deliver to your door.  You can order the same 6-pk from Walmart.com for $29.58 plus high tax and .97 for standard shipping (one week).  Me?  I’d rather pay with my SB credits…

Sunday freebies

Friday freebies

I picked up lots of this Dial Nutri-Skin lotion, both women’s and men’s, when it was a MM at Wags.  Like ’em on FB and print out a $1/1 coupon.  Since Walmart has the small sizes for .97, throw some in your cart with all your free Air Wick!

Who knew that WM would be our new best friend…

Here’s a coupon for $1/1 Softsoap Pampered Hands liquid hand soap.  This will probably result in free soap, since it’s always on sale at CVS or Wags.  Not a very user-friendly site, so don’t start clicking all over the place or you’ll end up every friggin’ time on the Colgate page.

Last day for the free pack of Mentos U2 gum to first 2,000 people every day through the 5th.  Like ‘em on Facebook.

How about a free download of the complete Chronicles of Narnia audiobooks?  These programs were originally recorded for broadcast on the Ancient Faith Internet Radio station. This download includes all seven books narrated by Chrissi Hart and is offered by Homechool freebie of the day.

Site is currently overloaded and you might have to either keep trying (the obsessed of you) or wait until later.

Super WM – Joliet

The things I do for you guys…I wanted to check out the Super Walmart on Jefferson in Joliet ’cause I’d heard they carried the Cascade trial packets – they do!  Since I was there, decided to check out the selection of Air Wick sprays.  Not only did they have tons right by the front door, they had three additional scents not carried by the Glen Ellyn store:  Island Paradise; Tropical Bliss and Serene Coconut Breeze.  There are 70 of them in this picture, along with about 33 of the Cascade packs.  Note that the stupid Cascade coupon limits you to four per transaction, so had 7 with four (one was included in the Air Wick lot) and one transaction with only one.  Tax down there is considerably higher, btw (Air Wick was .29 in Glen Ellyn and .33 in Joliet).  And I haven’t yet lost my mind with this quantity:  40 were gone when I hit Lisle…along with a bunch of watermelons (kidding!)

Kudos to Gloria, the truly patient and friendly cashier at Walmart.  The first time around something just didn’t work and the register got all wonky (technical word).  The customer service manager, Leeanna, came over and voided out the entire transaction.  She ran each Air Wick over the scanner and then after every set of 10, ran 10 coupons.  This way took longer, but we could be certain that every product had a coupon attached.  Yes, a very long time, but they were both soooo pleasant I wish their store was even 15 miles closer to me (yes, it was that far).  Leeanna is an avid couponer, so let’s hope she checks in and maybe gives us a heads up on great Walmart deals coming up.

and i never thought i’d be saying that last part

Walmart

You ask what we’re gonna do when we keep getting dumped on by Walgreens?  Start shopping at Walmart…I gave up trying to locate stock at Dollar General and just took their weekly ad in to Walmart.  They price matched the $4 and I rang up 60 of them.  Paid $17.40 in high tax.  They probably had at least another 60 on the endcap, but I couldn’t fit any more in the cart!  and no, i am not playing EC here with multiple carts.  I’ll hit ’em up again in a few days because the DG sale ends on Saturday and the regular WM price is $4.98.

The big question, I’m sure, is what I’m going to do with them!?  I pretty much had them sold before I bought them.  Maybe I should set up a roadside stand and sell Air Wicks and watermelons.

Serious note here:  I would strongly urge you to stock up on these as I can see dark clouds on the couponing horizon:  the values are getting lower, stores do not carry sufficient inventory for their advertised sales and your coupons will expire long before a CVS gets stock.  The new reality is to hit ’em hard and heavy and stockpile, stockpile, stockpile.

Coupons.com

Coupons.com has a $1 off any REACH floss product – these just happen to be about .88 at Walmart and just under a buck at Target, so print out a bunch and you will walk out with cash at WM (since you’re making .12 and the tax will be about .08).  This is one of those coupons that it makes sense to print whether there’s a sale or not!  Also some buck coupons for Listerine and kids Listerine.  There hasn’t been a decent sale on this stuff in over a year (and the way I define decent is at least FREE).

And yet another couple of great coupons hiding out in zipcode 73601!

I picked up about 13 cases of Libby’s canned vegetables at Dollar General during one of their incredible sales (FREE and low tax).  And hard to believe, but I shudda gotten more niblets corn!!!

Walmart

Hit up Wheaton for the chocolate bars and stopped at Walmart on the way back.  I carry those Black Flag and Cascade coupons with me just in case I can find either product on the shelf.  Naturally I found no Cascade, but did add 14 boxes to my fly paper collection.  Flies, Beware!

Funny story:  Check out with this older Indian guy.  He rang up all the boxes, then looked at the coupons.  Each coupon rang up at a dollar.  He started telling me that the boxes were .98 and the coupon were $1 – even printed out a receipt to show me; I misunderstood, thinking he wanted to mark down the coupons.  I said the Walmart policy is to give overage.  Turns out he was only trying to help me because he didn’t know why I should pay .71 if my coupons were for more than the value of the producdt!  I had to explain the sad truth about high taxes in Illinois.

Home again home again

Whew!  Spent quite a few hours on the No Power tour with Rachel, so got way behind on…well, everything.  Although she did spring for lunch at Olive Garden, so that was good.  Finally hit up Wags for my Huggies and Noxzema razors.  Only had 40 razor coupons, so it was 11 Huggies and 40 razors to end up at $8.71 OOP, of which $8.02 was high tax.

Then hit up the Walmart on Rte 53 in Glen Ellyn:  No fly paper; no Cascade trial packs; Advil was ringing at $2.92.  I even had them scan the package, thinking/hoping it was unadvertised at this location, but nope.  So, ymmv indeed.  Sorry if any of you went out and even sorrier that I clipped all those stupid coupons.

Have to make a Jewel run later because my FREE milk cats expire today.

Wags

Coupon still works.

a n d i was “gifted” with another hundred or so inserts with the Noxzema $2/1.  Just remember, even though it only has a life of one week, you can always pick them up at Walmart where the bikini razors sell for $1.97, or .03 legitimate overage.  life is good…

Happy Fourth of July

Ran in to Walmart to see what I could “buy.” I was interested in using the July PG Cascade $1 coupon on the trial packs, but could not find them anywhere. Ended up with just 16 Black Flag fly paper strips for .82 oop.  This picture was taken at my brother’s house (for a barbeque) – obviously my dining room table has never been this neat.
