post edit: pay .22 for pump soap? must think i’m rich

Photo1.jpgUpon review of the receipt…I still don’t understand what the sale price actually was! Here’s a shot of the receipt, so good luck.  The coupon must have been the $1/2 (customer service clipped them ’cause I brought the entire stack and left the coupons for staff use – I just grabbed the two).

I like to wait until the last day for many deals ’cause I’m primarily interested in picking up rain checks and hoping for more coupons.  In this case, I wanted rain checks for the Nivea lip balms at Dominicks for 99¢ – use the $3/2 (10/27 rp) for some tasty overage or extra product.  In my case, I have tons already, so these will get dropped off at the food pantry with the pasta side dishes from Target and some EE cleaners as soon as Dominicks gets more products in stock.  If you add the Dial foaming hand soaps to your JFU card, you’l get $1 off per bottle; use the $2/2 from 10/6 rp and you’ll end up paying 88¢ for the four bottles (well, depending on your high tax, of course).

Dominicks – ’cause once again the house elves drank all the milk – EDIT

EDIT: Forgot to mention that Danada has an entire freezer coffin of dinners, like Amy’s and some ethnic Indian dishes. Still too high-priced at 50% off, but not as crazy-high as the 8 oz of Organic Biodynamic coffee at 50% off the $17.99 price. I’ll swallow cellulite cream before I pay that much for caffeine…

Photo1.jpgSeriously?  I was at Jewel a couple of hours ago and no one thought to mention we out of milk (oh, wait, there were approximately 30 drops left, so technically weren’t out).  Decided to hit Dominicks after checking my J4U – I had a B2G2 on 7-Up 2L products and that’s just what’s on sale…four free bottles of pop!  I chose ginger ale and 7-UP, but I don’t see why the root beer and Squirt wouldn’t work.  The register rings them up as $1.99 each and then takes them all off when you scan the fourth.  Cool beans.

Found lots of cheese in the deli clearance section; alouette is on sale for 2/$7 so 50% off $3.50 makes for some very cheap spreadables.  And pot stickers…sigh.

Tai Pei BOGO coupon still available

Get your BOGO Tai Pei Foods coupons!  Enjoy an authentic Asian-style takeout experience right from your freezer.  Tai Pei® features restaurant-inspired varieties of frozen Asian-style cuisine, packaged in a takeout-style box that goes from frozen to fabulous in minutes.  and you all know how much i adore their chicken potstickers…like 25 boxes in the past couple of weeks…’cause potstickers aren’t just for breakfast any more!

The 5/$10 sale at Dominicks runs through November 5th.

Out and about “shopping”

photo.JPGThe free lettuce at Dominicks was too disgusting to even bother with – I mean, who wants to eat iceberg lettuce?  And the package that said romaine?  not.  But I did get the free jar of Herdez cooking sauce on my JFU, and, since I was just driving by anyway, it wasn’t a complete waste of a trip!

Stopped at a couple of CVS stores for more Oral B toothbrushes & heads – those are the ones that PITA uses, so a great stock-up deal.

Walmart for price match on the Kraft mac and cheese – paid for with the overage from the Gax-X.  Sponge Bob…you can dress them up but they’re still kids at heart…

Did not see the 50 oz Era here, but again, mine is a very small WM — it does show up online for $3.97, but don’t see store info.  But again, the last time I saw store info (Domino Light), the store not only didn’t carry it, the grocery manager said they had never carried it…

Oh, and I made almost $3 on my Walmart shopping trip.

Dominicks says “adios, Chicago”

It’s true!  Safeway has announced that they plan to exit the Chicago market by early 2014 – rather here’s your hat, what’s your hurry fashion, wouldn’t you say?

Here’s the entire article from Crain’s Chicago Business (I love that paper!).  Note that the update specifies which stores have already been sold to Jewel:

BOGO Tai Pei coupons! Hurry!

They call me carp: Dominicks tonight

photo.JPGStopped at Dominicks because, well, frankly, we were completely out of Tai Pei chicken potstickers!  I know, I know, it just doesn’t seem possible, but there it is, and I must feed my addiction.  Decided to redeem the rain check for seven Dole, since the coupons expire in a few days, saw the clearance English muffins on the way back with eight boxes from the Tai Pei freezer, so tossed those into the cart, as well.  On the clearance table were nine boxes of 40 oz Ultra Tide, marked $7.99 with 50% off stickers.  In a wonderful fluke, I had the 9/29 inserts in the car, so I was able to clip the $2 coupons from the P&G insert and ended up paying $1.99 a box (although you’re able to post-redeem up to a few weeks at the Woodridge store)!

And you know you live in weird times when a quart of Organic half & half is cheaper than a quart of Coffeemate, which, to the best of my knowledge, contains nothing natural at all.

OOP was $28.90 – only saved 80% (damned potstickers!).

Gluten-free, work-free (I’m lazy)

photo.JPGSome site, whose name I won’t mention (mum’s the word) likes to make a big deal about gluten-free scratch baking – Goddess says just buy the stuff on clearance!  Stopped at the Dominicks on Ogden in Downers Grove, looking for more TAI PEI coupons – not even a friggin’ blinkie!  But I was able to score some major clearance:

4 16 oz packages of bison for $5.00 a pack
7 tubs of Pillsbury gluten-free (and dairy-free) dough for $2.15; there is a 75¢ printable that I’ll try to post-redeem with.
3 1/2 dozen organics eggs for $1.25 each; great price for organics
4 8 oz packs of lucerne pepper jack shredded cheese for 84¢ each
5 6 oz packs of Eating Right roast beef for 79¢ each
1 pack Land O Frost smoked ham & oven roasted turkey for 10 sub sandwiches for 79¢
5 Tai Pei cartons, mostly potstickers, ’cause they are awesome! at $1 each

Still spent waaaaay more than I’m used to, but since I’m sticking Rachel with a large part of the tab…total was $57.12 (the balance I’ll take out of DH’s table since he falls asleep before I do…oh, like you don’t do the same! except with your own DH I mean)

Dominicks – lot of groceries for little cash

photo.JPG Not only does Dominicks have a BOGO TAI PEI on my J4U (limit one), but they’re on sale 5/$10!  Which makes these BOGO printables that much better! At first I didn’t see any of the Pillsbury Heat-N-Go packs in the clearance endcap, but I looked waaay in the back and found a couple of cases, still sealed!  (This was at the 63rd Street store.)  Shame I only printed out a couple of coupons! Total for 8 TAI PEI, the Organic milk, four of the mini-waffles, a large bag of clearance dog food and this container of cherry and peach turnovers (which somehow fell into my cart and I must have missed them)…$20.36.

I had $3 come off as the BOGO TAI PEI, used four of the BOGO coupons and two of the BOGO waffles plus the $1.50 catalina from the Campbell’s Skillet Sauce promotion at Jewel.

Dominicks has an awesome variety of the TAI PEI:  Egg rolls, two types of chicken potstickers, chicken fried rice, shrimp fried rice, ginger chicken…too many to list.  need more coupons

cheap Skippy – need more peanut butter?

$0.55 off any one (1) SKIPPY peanut butter product

Couple of choices for Skippy peanut butter because sometimes you just want your favorite.

Starting Friday, Dominicks will have the 40 oz jars of Skippy on sale for $5 on JFU.  You can extend the sale through the entire weekend and get a really, really big jar for $4.45 after printable;

Don’t wanna wait?  Get the normal-size (16.3 oz) jar on sale 2/$4 this week at Walgreens with the in-ad coupon (same $2/$4 price for Welch’s – use 7/28 rp $1/2), so $1.45 a jar after printable.  If you have RRs to burn and/or loads of points, this is the store deal to take.
