cheap Skippy – need more peanut butter?

$0.55 off any one (1) SKIPPY peanut butter product

Couple of choices for Skippy peanut butter because sometimes you just want your favorite.

Starting Friday, Dominicks will have the 40 oz jars of Skippy on sale for $5 on JFU.  You can extend the sale through the entire weekend and get a really, really big jar for $4.45 after printable;

Don’t wanna wait?  Get the normal-size (16.3 oz) jar on sale 2/$4 this week at Walgreens with the in-ad coupon (same $2/$4 price for Welch’s – use 7/28 rp $1/2), so $1.45 a jar after printable.  If you have RRs to burn and/or loads of points, this is the store deal to take.

newest printables: more PB&J coupons!

$2.00 off any Jif Almond or Cashew Butter $0.55 off any Jif Whipped Peanut Butter Spread $0.75 off any Smucker's Natural Fruit Spread

The Jif nut butters are pricey – even at Ultra – but if you can’t have peanuts, this is a very good coupon to print and hold.  The fancy-schmancy stuff gets clearanced out at Dominicks quite frequently.

PSA – Ultra in Downers Grove has PB

The Downers Grove Ultra (75th St) got in a couple of pallets of crunchy Planters peanut butter last evening, so if you’re holding rain checks … I try to use rain checks are quickly as possible ’cause otherwise there’s a good chance they’ll disappear!

Help! My wallet has moved to Shop & Save!

Sorbeto & gelato. PITA is holding the $3 size with blood orange and lemon/lime sorbeto. It was actually too much for one person so we shared!

Lots of fresh-squeezed juice cups (carrot/apple).

Picked up two of the rotisserie chickens at $2.99 each – used my $3 coupon with no trouble!  Had to wait 35 minutes for a batch of chickens…which was okay because they had three tables full of deli salad samples!  When the chickens finally came out (about 25), they were snatched up within a few minutes, literally.  Guy said nobody wanted to cook today.  I said today?????

Reduced produce racks had large containers of whole ginger at $1.50 a container!  Grabbed a tray of nice parsnips and several packs of lunch meat ends (only ’cause I saw they were the $$$ lunchmeats).  LOL American cheese is on sale for $3.99 (white or yellow) so picked up a pound for sandwiches.  Grabbed a large container (at least a few pounds) of baby carrots for $1.69.  Deli has something called Polish cole slaw, which has slivered carrots mixed in the cabbage and fresh dill and a very light vinaigrette.  Took a large container, but it weighed hardly anything!

And after all that, forget to get the PIMA coffee…which will necessitate a return trip.

Also stopped at Ultra across the street and in two trips (before and after Shop & Save) got another 24 jars of PB & J.  Go team!  I’ve also been handing out coupons to cashiers and shoppers at Ultra because … well, because we should.

Ultra: Carp-e diem

photo.JPGBoy, I sure hope we like this peanut butter!  And on the jam…it’s a shame I just stocked on my marmalade and preserves, but concord grapes are always tasty.  mebbe i can retro them into wine

photo.JPGAt the Lombard Target, the cashier ran these as one transaction and entered the coupons manually when the register refused to accept more than four like coupons.  With the judicious use of store and manufacturer coupons (and two FREEBIES), I took home 16 REV wraps for $3.02 – darn taxes!  And the B3G1 promotion is still running with the 3/$5 sale price (so 4/$5!).

Here’s the coupons and the prior post.

if you need peanut butter

This week CVS has Skippy peanut butter as part of their Spend $10 get $3 in ecbs promotion, so if your stockpile is running dangerously low, here’s what I suggest:

$0.55 off any one SKIPPY peanut butter product

Buy four jars of Skippy, use four of the $0.55 off any one SKIPPY peanut butter product coupons (2 per computer), pay $7.80 and get back $3 in ecbs: $1.20 a jar.  There is a 50¢ coupon in the 7/28 S1 (Chicago area), but I prefer printables for the extra savings.
