Dominicks and the grapevine

This info comes from the baby mama, who tried to run the Ken’s salad dressing at Dominicks yesterday:

My dominicks had the dressing at $2.99. Not fun. They do, however, have the sparkling ocean spray 4pks 2/$4 and the MDA book had $1.50 coupons. I just picked up 34 packs. Wish they had more. Well they did but we aren’t big on “diet” in this house.

We’re still working through out Beverage Basement, so I’ll pass on this deal even though I have to hit them up for all my rain check Gain since the powder coupon expires today.

Ken’s Salad Dressing

I’m sitting here clipping a few (groups of ten) Ken’s salad dressing coupons from the front page of the 8/14 S – they are part of a B2G1 free sale at Dominicks through tomorrow, 8/31, where the salad dressing is $1.  It’s free any way you look at it.  Didn’t post before ’cause salad dressing is something we really don’t need right now, but a friend desperately needs it, so clip, clip, clip.

For those of you looking for an excuse to visit Jewel, they are also running a 10/$10 on the Ken’s and I’ve read that they have a larger selection(?).  Check it out.  Both deals run through Wednesday the 31st.

Dominicks and Gain

Just a quick reminder to run either your Gain deals or get rain checks by this evening.  I’ve been picking up a few here and there and have separate rain checks for the dish soap and powder.  I’ll check back in a couple of weeks when I get more dish soap coupons.

Dominicks Gain update

Tried the powder and two dish soaps today and did not get the cat.  Could not figure out what went wrong.  CS gave me $3.05, which was very nice, but I wanted to stock up.  Just realized what the problem is/was:  I had read on many places that there was trouble with the Red Apple scent, but since I had purchased many of them, figured they had fixed the problem.  Apparently there are two red apple scents:  Apple Mango Tango (which is what I bought before) and Apple Berry Twist (today’s purchase).  So make sure you are not picking up the bad red.

Great, now I have to hit the stores again…

Wags and Dominicks

Wiped out Wheaton of most of their overstock Revlon nail polish and then rolled that $3 RR into the Pert Plus using a box of .20 gelatin as a filler.   The Pert/gelatin transactions ran .53 each – not too shabby.

Here’s a funny story (to me) which is probably giving Steve nightmares:  I’m at cosmetics, checking out the Pert/gelatin, having already filled a box with the Revlon – lots in the cart.  Older women walks over and sees the shampoo and nail polish and says, “Oh, that’s right, I need some nail polish.”  Turns out that none of the colors on the shelf appealed to her, so she shopped from my cart!  Two bottles of Pert at $1.50 each and eight bottles of nail polish at .50 each.  She pays $7 and then another woman walks up and buys two bottles of Revlon!  I told Steve I was gonna set up a Wags outlet in the parking lot.  He asked that I please move it to the bank lot across the street…

Went across the street to the Danada Square Dominicks, where I grabbed the last six boxes of Gain powder and twelve bottles of Gain dish soap – each transaction came to (after coupons and $3 cat from prior order) $2.63.

whew, i’m bushed…

Dominick and Gain update II

Jennifer commented on FB that:

“Just ran it with liquid detergent since LITH Dominicks was out of the box – IT’S WORKING!!! YAY!!”  So now we have confirmation that the liquid is now working.  One more option since Dominicks will undoubtedly be out of something.

I held off posting this, but now I’ve read confirmation from people whose judgment I trust, so here goes:  You know how Dominicks is running that Buy Three Gain products and get an instant $3 taken off?  Well, there is a catalina promotion that was scheduled to start on the 19th, where you get a $3 OYNO mfr cat.  It is now running, so this is what you do (after clipping all your little coupons):  Buy two of the Gain dish soaps for $1.99 each and one of the Gain laundry detergents (only the powder is working for this deal) for $6.99.  Total is $10.97 less instant $3 = $7.97 less two .50 Gain dish coupons (8/14 RP) and one $2 Gain powder from 7/17 SS.  Now you’re at $4.97.  Pay the bill and out spits the $3 cat.  Since you can roll cats at Dominicks, roll it into the next deal.  Bottom line is $1.97 for two large dish soaps and one small box of detergent.

I’ll head out to Dominicks tomorrow and check this out but it looks real good right now.  While it’s not my favorite detergent or dish soap, you sure can’t beat the price.  Deals are coming few and far between so stock up.

Dominicks

Quick run to pick up some Gain dish soap from the Buy 3 get $3 off instantly promotion Dominicks is running.  The only “deal” is the Gain dish soap at $1.99 each.  Drop the buck and you’re at .99, which isn’t anything to write home about, but use the .50 from today’s RP and you’re at .49 for the 30 oz size.  I got the last three from the Doms on 63rd:  Apple Mango Tango.  Get yourselves some rainchecks (I got one for 9 more).

Quick runs

Checked in with Wheaton Wags – they’ve ordered either 500 or a thousand (I forget) of the Degrees, which will come in on Saturday at the Lisle store (they’re piggy-backing onto that store’s delivery).  Call and ask when they will make it up to Wheaton.

Another ten Magnum bars from Danada Square.  OOP was .17.  I’d guess they had 20 or more left.  Didn’t check on the cheese ’cause I forgot.

Dominicks

First mistake was going to the Naperville Dominicks, where Ogden turns south – place was empty of customers and products.  Let’s see, ONE pound of unsalted butter on the shelf, the entire yogurt display was empty, one Sorrento mozzarella ball and nine Magnum ice cream bars.  I used an open box of the 3 pack to complete my ten, but when I went to check out I scanned in my mfr coupons first.  The store coupon ($5 off $15 frozen) wouldn’t work and the mgr told me it was because I was under $15 in frozen and it had to be over $15 after coupons.  Well, they were nice and polite, but you cain’t fix stupid, so I said cancel the whole thing, which they did.  And then I said I want my coupons back (like I’m giving ’em extra money, right!) – took my coupons and fat ass over to the Dominicks on 63rd in Woodridge.  After the Western Springs Dominicks, this is my favorite Dominicks. Everyone’s polite, they have  stock and no attitude about using coupons.  You can even see customers!

You see here $28(!) of groceries.  Decided to take five of the butters, using the $2.59 JFU price (cheaper than Aldi), the heavy whipping cream is cheaper than the light cream at Jewel, the all-natural, thin-sliced chicken breasts were on clearance for 1.99/lb.  They no longer carry the Sorrento fresh mozzarella, so they substituted the other kind and pushed through the coupons.  The Ice Mountain was FREE on my JFU.  Best deal was the Magnum ice cream bars, on sale for 2/$3.  Buy 10, use the $5/$15 ad coupon and 10 of the 7/31 rp $1/1 Magnum coupons (which makes them free).

While I’m not thrilled spending money, even I have to admit that we like to eat and eat well.

Cheap bleach at Dominicks

The Baby mama has a fantastic deal if all your stars are in alignment – mine, unfortunately, are out of whack.

if u managed to get the Spanish booklets at El Jewel that have the $2.00 clorox wipes coupons you can get some cheap wipes and bleach. Looks like this:

1 96 oz clorox $2.29
1 clorox wipes $1.29
-.80 JFU For bleach
-.30 card savings for wipes
-$2 coupon
= .48 for both

Check your Just F you to see what is appearing ’cause this is a good price for the both.  Hell, what am I saying?  It’s a great price for both.  Obviously I am doomed to stay germy.
