One of the healthy living/eating emails I get is from Spark.com (don’t laugh).  This one contains their annual list of the worst restaurant foods for 2011.  I’ve listed the foods and nutritional info and if you want more details, click on the link.  And sadly, this list only makes me more hungry…

Lemon Tree Grocer $10 in FREE produce

Yup, that’s right, totally, completely free produce!  You know I love this place – both the cafe and grocery store rock.  Tons of deli items, a beautiful produce section – well, you can now understand my shock when I opened up this email to learn that they want to give me $10 in free produce with no purchase necessary!

So sign up for the Lemon Tree Grocer loyalty program (I got 15% discount on my first purchase) and see what you get in the mail!  Goddess hint:  If you’re gonna shop there anyway, make sure it’s on a night when they have cheap food at the cafe!

Stockpile sales

Given the unexpectedly high number of responses to Kathy’s request a couple of weeks ago, Shirley has decided to brave my insane readers and has sent the following list of items she’s interested in purchasing:

Hi everyone. I am looking for the following items. I live in Glen Ellyn (60137) and I can meet you somewhere that is convenient for both of us. If you have any of those that you no longer need, please email me at [email protected]. Thank you.
Joint juice 30 day supply glucosamine + chondroitin (individual packets in a box)  $0.75
Estroven  $0.5
Luster white toothpaste (NOT the sensitive ones) – expiration date at least a year from now $0.5
Breathe right strips $0.10 each strip

Thermacare heat wrap $0.25
This could work out to be very cool for both sides.

PSA about LeapPad

Okay, I know that the hottest toy in America is the LeapPad and it’s impossible to find.  Well, you can buy one on Amazon if you want to spend $200+ for a toy that’ll last a short time or you get one of those cheapie tablets on 1SaleADay for $80 or so.  Hey, at least they’d be getting the real deal, right?

Stockpile sales – a December PSA $$$$

Many newbies get caught up in the Free – Whoopee hysteria and then find you have 100 boxes of Estroven or Neuragen or any of the other myriad oddities that were MMs.  If this is the case and you suck at garage sales, a reader has offered to buy the following items (First price is if it has to be shipped (she pays shipping), 2nd is if is delivered or we have a convenient meet up location):

“Stuff can be delivered to my house in Oswego, I can meet at the Montgomery Wags on 34 by Menards or at the library (right behind there), or at Jewel on Douglas Rd. For truly large orders I will travel, maybe we could have some kind of reverse Partylite party at your place or over that way, instead of people spending money, they can bring their stuff and I will buy it ha ha!”

This last one could actually be kinda cool:  A Sell-Your-Stockpile Party!  Everyone gets together and dumps what they don’t want and gets what they do want ($$$$$)!  hmmmm…

Anyway, either email me or comment and we’ll go from there.  Obviously I will not be posting anyone’s vitals on a public forum.

Deciphering the yellow tail rebate address

Here is the rebate address as best I can make out using a bright light and a jeweler’s loupe.  They also don’t differentiate between a zero and an O. And, it’s seriously small and printed in light grey ink – wtf!?

Hope this helps…

Cheap Heinz ketchup

Heinz is offering TWO bottles with FREE shipping on their new balsamic vinegar ketchup:  $2.24.  Like them on Facebook and click on the “Balsamic Ketchup” tab on the left side bar.  That page shows “Place an Order” which you do.  Once you enter your zip code, your free shipping option appears.  Here is what Heinz says on their FB page:

We are happy to announce that our ordering system for Heinz® Ketchup with Balsamic Vinegar is up and running! As a special thank you to all our fans who have been so patient, for each order placed we will be offering free shipping and one free additional bottle now through 11:59 p.m. (EST) tomorrow, November 15th. Again, we thank you for your patience and excitement for Heinz® Ketchup with Balsamic Vinegar.

My advice?  Get it while you can.  My first thought upon reading this was “UGH!” but since ketchup uses white vinegar anyway, figured it would be a milder ketchup.  We’ll see. I already ordered mine:  $2.24 for two bottles – great deal!

Hey – I just dyed PITA’s hair blue!

Then again, it certain lights it could be taken for light grey…tomato  – tomahto.  Normally she uses Miss Clairol, one of the extremely light Nordic blonde – don’t attempt this color if you’re over 26 – shades.  Tonight we went splurge-y…Nutrisse extra light ash blonde.  And I do believe that’s the color she got:  cigarette ASH!

Well, grey hair is very flattering to someone with no wrinkles or lines on her face.  Senor Clueless is not a happy camper.

Holidays are always fun at my house!
