Eve of Destruction for tests – get yours
Felonious Chunk has reversed plans to close the free Covid testing program and just destroy the 160 million tests in stock, because that makes perfect economic sense. If you never ordered last September, go for it. Everything is free, including shipping.
People can request four free tests per household through covidtests.gov. Officials say the tests are able to detect the latest variants and are intended to be used through the end of the year.
Earlier tests are expired, but dates have been extended on some so check the FDA site to see if you have any that are still good.
Packages of COVID-19 tests will ship starting the week of September 30. Once the package ships, you’ll receive a tracking number and updates on the expected delivery date if you entered an email address (not required).

If you want some, hurry on over (I JUST walked back in) because they haven’t even been entered into the inventory system, so people can’t wipe them out online. Take that, suckers!

Cheese maker Tillamook has launched a contest, in which the grand prize is 100 pounds of cheese – or approximately 200 packages of its sliced, shredded or block cheese – plus, precisely 3,618 coupons for even more free cheese.
Yes, that is a lot of cheese. If you used one coupon a week, it would take you nearly 70 years to use them all. If you used one coupon every day, it would take you a slightly more manageable ten years to finish them off.
From now until the end of the day next Thursday, February 20th, you can enter the contest at www.tillamook.com/boatload-of-cheese by providing your name and email address.
Be warned, though, the site experienced problems throughout the day yesterday. There was a surge in submissions when early birds found out the first 15,000 entrants would get a link to a printable coupon for a free package of Tillamook cheese. Those coupons quickly ran out. Squirmy and I were sharing a large oatmeal raisin cookie (very Lady and the Tramp!) when I got distracted and he took off with the whole thing. Hope all his tree rat friends enjoyed it.
Canned Tuna Recall with List
California-based Tri-Union Seafoods has issued a voluntary recall of canned tuna sold at Trader Joe’s, Safeway, Harris Teeter, Walmart, Costco and other major grocery stores in dozens of states.
Tri-Union Seafoods said the defect, located on the cans’ pull-tab lid, may compromise the integrity of the product seal, especially over time, causing it to leak or become contaminated with the clostridium botulinum bacterium, which causes botulism.
