Wags Friends and Family Event 3/30

Had to double-check this one, but yes, tomorrow, Friday, March 30 is Walgreen’s Friends and Family Event, where you can get an extra 15% off your purchases and 20% off any W-family products (Nice, etc.).  Pretty great, huh?  Too bad there’s no deals going on this week.  I would recommend checking out the clearance sections because there are lots of good deals to be had.

Note that the link above goes to last year’s info – it won’t be live until tomorrow.   Print out as many coupons as you want/need/desire.

Wags 4/4-7 (Easter sale)

I’m pulling my hair out here, looking for possible rolls for this four-day sale ad:  I have a great deal on one hand (Luster White is $4.99 with a $4 RR – use the 75¢ from 3/18 S for 24¢ toothpaste) but nothing on the other side for a roll.  it’s always possible that something will come up…

Wheaton Wags

Used two got2b coupons and a $10 RR from Coke.  Got back two $5 RRs.  .93 OOP.  Wanted to see what Wheaton had in the way of clearance – sad, sad, sad.  Not that there wasn’t a lot, but it was crazy-high priced and some stuff, like the Neuragen for $7.49, had been sitting there the last time I stopped in to check (and that was quite some time ago).

Gonna be hard to roll those $10 Coke cats…hellooooo, Jewel olive bar!

April 15th at Walgreens

Here’s the 4/15 Walgreens scenario, as best I can come up with at the present time.  You are basically doing transaction 2 and 3 back and forth, using the previous Register Rewards, as many times as you have coupons.

1)  Nasal Ease is $9 with a $9 RR.  Use the $5 coupon from 3/11 rp.  Pay $4 and get $9 RR.

2)  Similasan is $6 with a $6 RR.  No coupon.
Colgate Sensitive toothpaste is $3.99 with a $2 RR.  Use the $1 coupon from 4/15.
Pay $8.99 using the $9 Nasal Ease which will be marked down the penny (as per corporate coupon rules).  Get $6 RR and $2 RR.

3) Nasal Ease $9 less the $5 coupon.
Pepsi Next 20 oz is on sale for .99 with a .99 Register Reward.
Purex Ultrapacks are BOGO at $5.99. Use two of the $1 coupons from 3/11 rp.
Your subtotal will be $8.99.  Pay using the two RRs from No. 2 and a cheap filler added   for the second RR to attach to.  Get back .99 from Pepsi and $9 for Nasal Ease.  You can always throw in the hair accessories for $1.99 with a $1 RR as a filler.

Rinse and repeat.  Coupons for the Nasal Ease are selling for .25 each with a 50 coupon limit on WeclipUSave.  Purex coupons are .07;  make sure to order the Ultra coupons, not the regular liquid coupons for a nickel.  I wouldn’t put off ordering (either through weclip or through Dede or eBay) because the prices are going to shoot up as the supplies dwindle.  You can always check status by clicking the ads for either on the right side bar.

It’s Free Allegra time again!

Starting April 1, CVS will have the Allegra 5 ct tablets on sale for $6.99 – there will be a $7 coupon in most Sunday papers that Sunday.  Last year when they ran this coupon (also in April), every other store was offering the same price/deal, so I’m gonna tell you all to place your special orders NOW!  Wags will have the 30 ct for $17.99, but I prefer free, don’t you?

Wags – expiring RRs with no roll

Now the question is, do I use my $60 in expiring (today) RRs at the Jewel olive bar or try to make something more with them?  Obviously I prefer the roll, but as you know, it’s a pretty sucky week at Walgreens (we still lubs you though Wags), so I was getting desperate.

Walgreens has been clearancing out Olay bodywash for $2.29 (more than one location, so check your store and use the $2 from March P&G) and lots of other items on reset.  I wandered around and around and finally found the Depends 6-pks for $2.19 and  a couple of test strips for the ClearBlue fertility monitors.  Everything was supposed to be 75% off, so you can imagine my shock when the price rang up over $13 on the test strips:  That was accurate because they even sell on Amazon for $40!  Yikes!  So grabbed both boxes.  I’m cheap, not stupid.  Used over $60 in RRs (still have the $10 Coke RRs) and took home a very nice assortment of resale products.  The Goddess is pleased.

Again, keep your eyes open for clearance racks/carts/end caps at CVS, Wags and Jewel.  While I would like to use a coupon on everything I purchase, sometimes it’s just not feasible.

Walgreens 4/15 $5 MM – bump

A reader has been in contact with the rebate center regarding limits on the Nasal Ease.  She reports in:

Hi!  I just spoke to Lori at the rebate center, and she said that there is nothing that she can give me on paper.  She did assure me (and double checked again), that it’s in their computer system, and it states “$30.00 in rebates, per consumer, per household”.  I guess that’s all we have.  But it’s more than we had yesterday, so thanks!

So far I see a FARR deal on Nasal Ease:  $9 (shelf price is about $11.99) with a $9 RR.  The best part is that there is a $5 coupon in the 3/11 rp.  Order your coupons now, folks for this $5 MM!  It is selling for 25¢ on WeClipUSaveThey are currently out of stock but will get more this week; sign up for email notification. They are in stock (2,000) and selling for 25¢ each!  Here’s a link to a $3 MIR from the mfr.:  nasaleaseallergy.com  CouponDede has them for 50¢ each with no limits; you earn 10 points.

I’d probably email to see when the coupons actually arrive at WeClip – the 25¢ difference in coupon prices makes it too rich for my blood and there’s no time crunch.

Lisle Wags gets new registers

In one sentence:  They Suck!  and in case you didn’t get it the first time:  THEY TRIPLE DOG DARE SUCK!

Stopped in to pick up just a few of the Snickers eggs.  Shelf tag reads .59 or 2/$1.  Which is great, ’cause I don’t want any sales to mess up my deal – just gimme my candy for tax and I’m outa there.  Rang up six eggs and used three coupons:  51¢.  Okay, in what universe do they charge 17% on a purchase?  Well, obviously this is the way Illinois is heading, but at the present time, the tax is 7.25% in Lisle.  Which is one nice thing about these registers – they show you all the charges as they are rung up and you see the tax percent and amount – sweet.  Well, the register was ringing them up at a sale price of 39¢ and only taking off two of the coupons.  Figured I’d add another two eggs to bring it up to $3.12, then take off the $3 in coupons.  Doable, but not the best deal.

Can’t get the register to accept anything – it doesn’t show any difference after entering the two additional eggs.  Asst Mgr keeps trying to override the system and is finally able to do something with it.  Ends up at .35¢ and we bolt.  I can only imagine the pain our large transactions will cause.

Wags 3/18

What do I plan to run this week at Walgreens?  Precious little is the short answer – the long answer is almost as bad.  There really isn’t a back and forth RR deal; the Neosporin is a MIR (rebate is online) and you have one week.  Nuts.  Oh, and my favorite wording:  While supplies last.  Yeah, that just buoys up my confidence level.  So the best I can see is the 14 Day Fat Burn Cleanse to roll your Coke RRs for another week.  There is an 99¢ in-ad coupon for both Reach dental floss and Reach Prevent toothbrush; the 3/4 rp has a $1 coupon for both items, so two free.  I have been told that the 3/4 coupon did not scan for the sale toothbrush, but I don’t know why, because the mfr coupon states “not applicable to Crystal Clean toothbrushes.”  Guess they learned their lesson on that one, huh?

Carefree panty liners are 99¢ with a $1 coupon in the 3/18 SS.  Corporate policy allows the cashier to mark down the coupon by a penny or else have something else to each up that whopping overage.  I shouldn’t make fun of that penny ’cause after 300 or so it starts to be real money.

The Snickers Easter eggs are regularly priced at 59¢ or 2/$1, so a perfect filler with the $1/2 coupon in the 3/18 RP.

As always, Walgreen deals just appear, so I’ve learned to not be too disappointed beforehand – just rework the game plan and you’ll still come out way ahead!

Free Snickers eggs

Got your attention yet?  You’ll be able to grab some of those Snickers Easter eggs for free at both Walgreens and CVS, but in different weeks.  Walgreens will have them on sale 2/$1 starting 3/18.  Use the $1/2 coupon from 3/18 rp for free candy.

CVS will have a 3-day sale starting 3/25 for the Snickers eggs and Milky Way bunnies for 2/$1, get $1 ecb when you buy two – a $1 MM!  Limit two per household card.

Note that you will not be able to place orders for these items at either store.  Both chains consider these seasonal items and as such are moved in and out of the warehouse – no inventory remains (right now the warehouse is shipping wading pools and flip flops).  My advice is to grab as many as you can at Wags and then clip some more coupons for CVS.  I love these little Snickers size pieces.
