New Montgomery Wags – Update

The BA is asking that people call with orders as quickly as possible as she is trying to make a big impression with her manager on how much the deranged people purchase.  If the first big deal (she runs) generates enough sales with little inconvenience to the store manager, then more good things will come.  Again, they are not yet setting limits (I’m thinking about getting more… those apple/banana ones are only 1.5 oz each…you need four just to equal one Colgate!)

The BA called me to say she had placed a huge order of both the training and pump Aquafresh toothpastes (you wouldn’t believe the numbers if I told you).  She is trying to make a big splash as the newest member of the chain o’ deranged Wags and would appreciate anyone wanting a sizable number to use her store.  One nice thing about this deal is that it doesn’t involve RRs, so you could theoretically run a couple of hundred or more in one transaction.  but please don’t.  If you are planning on picking up more than the 20 that Wheaton is currently setting as limits and you can drive to Montgomery, give her a call.  All info is in prior post.

The training toothpaste is apple/banana flavor and the pump is bubblemint.   Expiration dates for the products now on the shelf are 12-18 months out;  next order might be further.

As an aside, this is the Wags where I picked up the 168 four-packs of Cottonelle for less than twelve bucks back in September 2009.  I might even have a picture somewhere here…

Another Wags turns to the dark side!

Yeah!  We’ve got another one folks!  The Wags in Montgomery, 1212 Ogden will be able to accommodate those readers further south and west of Wheaton and Lisle.  I’ve just emailed her to stock up hard on the Aquafresh training and kids (with pump) toothpastes that will be free starting 4/20, so please call our newest recruit, Teresa Marano, the assistant beauty advisor, at 630/820-4098.  She will be there tomorrow, Friday and Saturday from 9-5.  Welcome her to the fold.  She will be able to take care of you just like Wheaton would/could so any questions or special orders, give her a call.

Jewel and Wags with new info

On the Wags front, picked up seven of the Luster White because I was only rolling my $3 Colgate RRs; the white box contains six more packages and I used more of those Easter pencils as fillers.

Jewel – Ran in for the Mrs. T and to check on the expiration date of the brats deal – TODAY!  OK, must return later.

While at Wags, I checked out the Aquafresh training toothpaste and the children’s toothpaste.  The week of 4/20 Wags will issue a mid-week sale ad and one of the items will be these two items for $1.99.  Well, the April IVC book has a $1 coupon AND there is supposed to be a $1 mfr coupon in the 4/17 r, so we’re talking .01 overage (make sure you have something else or have them mark down the coupon or mark up the item – either way it’s free).  Now, I don’t need to stock up on fluoride-free products, but I’m hitting them up for at least 20 because the flavor on the pictured item is apple-banana.  and i am so done with mint…kwim?

Luster White is in stock at Wheaton!!!

JUST got a call from Wheaton that 168 tubes of the Luster White came in!  Unbelievable, right?  So, head on over there and claim yours;  they are limiting  transactions to 20 currently, but will relax those limits as we get nearer the end of the week.

Time to roll those RRs!

Carefree MM

One of my readers did a little “investigation” and found out that the Carefree cats which spit out on the Always deal a couple of weeks ago works on the current Buy Carefree Pantiliners get a $1 RR.  I asked her to run the deal and see what happened.  Here’s picghaw’s report:

UPDATE : We have a MM on our hands. There are different type of Carefree liners (saw 2: original, acti-fresh) that are on sale for 99 cents, so my $1 off coupon Carefree Acti-Fresh product works. I completely forgot to try it on the Carefree Original, I’m so SORRY, but it works on the Carefree Acti-Fresh. Its a Catalina coupon that printed out for me 2 weeks ago when I was rolling my Almay in RRs into Tena+ Always . I also got some randomly at Jewel. Richard is limiting us to 20 each, so walked out with 20 RR that I did not plan for. Spread the word. Of course the cashier only took off 99 cents so no overage.

$0.99 1 Carefree acti-fresh
– $0.99 1 $1.00 off on any (1) Carefree ACTI-FRESH product (excluding trial sizes)

Note:  There are .50 coupons in 3/27 r, so a very small MM if you didn’t run the Always deal.  Even if you ran it, it’s not likely that you have more than the 20 that Wheaton is currently limiting, so either pick them up at another store or buy the Wheaton stock now and check back to see if the limit has been relaxed later on in the week.

Wags and CVS

Ran a quick 11 transactions of Biore at Wags:  11 deep cleansing pore strips and 11 pore unclogging scrubs for a total OOP of $12.54 (all high Wheaton tax).  I used the $5 Almay RR, a $1 coupon in the pore strip box, the 3/6 S BOGO and a .15 Easter pencil (in-ad coupon) for each transaction.   I now have 22 Biore products and have rolled my RRs another two weeks.

A short note here:  If you are planning on making Biore purchases at the Lisle Wags, please note that they will not get their large order in until Tuesday, due to their order/shipping schedule.  I notified them, but it was a day too late.

At CVS I picked up 7 of the Air Wick  Freshmatic and one Freshmatic compact using the Spend $20 get back $10 ecbs (two cards-shhhh).  I used eight of the $4/1 from 3/20 s a bunch of ecbs.  There really wasn’t anything else I wanted, so I used a bunch of expired ecbs on four gallons of Deans milk, a pack of Orbit gum and five cans of Bumble Bee salmon (I make a mean salmon patty).  Now my ecbs are all current and I’m no longer under the gun to find a deal.  Which means CVS will be hopping the next few weeks…you just wait and see…

Wags 4/17-23

There are two ads for this week, the regular 7-day sale and a 4-day (4/20-23) special.  So far I don’t see anything fantastic using current coupons, but we still have time…

Having said that, Wags will be having a Coke sale on 12-packs:   either 4/$13 without the mfr coupon on the front page or 5/$13 with.  Doesn’t float my boat on pricing,  b  u  t, remember that strip of cat coupons that printed a few weeks ago when you purchased $15 of stuff like Coke or Hershey’s drops?  Most of those are store coupons, so my heart started going pitter-pat (could be excess caffeine, can’t tell), until I checked and saw that all the Coke products were mfr coupons. grrr.  However, they worked the same as Wags coupons, in that one coupon applied to the entire order.  Go figure… So, I crunched the numbers anyway, and if you buy 4 at $13, then subtract the $2/1 mfr coupons on Coke Zero (the only product that now works with said coupon), you are at 4 packs for $5, or $1.25 each.  This is about the same price I paid during the original sale, when I ordered and paid for 25 cases.  While I prefer Diet Coke, I’m not that type-specific to turn down ten cent cans of pop.

Waggin

I’m trying to burn a bunch of RRs, so here’s the photo of seven transactions.  I picked up five cans of Similac, cause that’s all they had – although Steve will be picking up a larger quantity of the $4.99 Advanced or Sensitive variety for Wednesday delivery ($5/1 – 4/3S); seven Colgate Max toothpastes (.75/1 – 4/3S); four Luster White ($1.50/1 IP) – ran out of coupons;  7 gel pens as fillers (.25 in-ad coupon); fourteen Oral B toothbrushes ($2/1 – 4/3 PG).  Total cash OOP was $9.58 and I burned $20 in $RRs.  Got back $37 in RRs.

Now here’s the sweet part.  Someone had commented that these Indicator toothbrushes were marked $2.99 on the shelf, but ringing $1.25.  I actually tested out different types and color and UPCs and here is what I found:  the ones with the UPCs ending in 0200 ( soft brush) not only ring at $1.25, they work with the $2 coupons.  Can we say .75 overage on each?  I can.  If you were smarter than me and printed out a ton of the Luster Whites, you can pick up 2 toothbrushes, the Luster White, Colgate Max and a filler (gel pen?) and pay $11.73 less $2+2+1.50+.75 or $5.48.  Throw in an RR ($4 or $5) and you’re at a buck or .48 plus high tax.  You then get back $7 in RRs.  Complicated, but  so is life.  And you’ve earned two more weeks to figure out another Wags deal…

Last minute shopping

Since I was pretty much restricted to shopping my stockpile today (see prior post), I was only able to escape the monkey house after 4 pm.  Naturally, I had to head to Jewel to snatch up nine more Tostitos using those expiring wts.  I saw a few more of those Old Wisconsin snack bites, so tossed them in the cart, too.  Two of those $1.29/lb corned beef and one lonely Smart Balance milk completed the order.  SB is on sale 2/$5 through, I believe, the 17th, but they only had the one, so I’ll hit them up later in the week using the $2/1 from 3/27 S2.  So what did I end up paying?  I used wts for the four snack bites and nine Tostitos.  Found two $1 corned beef wts, so those went into the mix.  I used two expiring $2 RRs and ended up $1.98 OOP.  Dates on the chips are 6-8 weeks away – THE BOY and I ate one whole bag this afternoon...it was not one of my atkins days…

Headed on over to the Woodridge Dominicks, but stopped first at Wags to check out the Tasters Choice or lack thereof.  You guessed it, lack thereof.  But I ended up rolling quite a few of my RRs using a combination of the Luster White toothpaste, Similac cans of formula and gel pens.  I ran six transactions, using varying amounts of formula and toothpaste, ending up rolling five $4 RRs and one $2 RR expiring today.  Note that the Luster White is $5.99 this week (next week is $4.99), but I needed to roll those RRs.  Total OOP was $13.06 (high tax toothpaste); I got back six $4 RRs.

Last stop was Dominicks to score the .99 asparagus – we loves us our asparagus!  Added three of the Girard’s dressing, large bunches of bananas, two Fresh Express, red seedless grapes and a 50% off package of 7% fat premium burgers with blue cheese and pepper (and no snarky comments about my eating habits, if you please).   Last time I shopped here I was able to use three RRs – this time one.  Had I known, I would have broken down the transaction.  I ended up using just one $5 RR and two $2 coupons on the Girard’s.  Just4U prices were:  bananas at .48/lb; red grapes at .79/lb and the Fresh Express salad was .99.  My OOP was $13.02.  ouch

Important Wags news!

Don’t forget that if you want/need the 4/10 Biore deal in any quantity (to roll those cats another 2 weeks), you need to call Wheaton and place your special order NOW for Sunday-Wednesday delivery.  After this morning’s order is placed with the warehouse, you will have to wait until after the next week’s Wednesday deliveries.  We are now being limited (for a time, anyway) to 20 per special order.  All this means is that our DS, DS, MIL, DH, etc. will be placing orders, too. (630/682-2599)

We will be working together with Lisle on this one and should have no more problems at all.  I’m very excited that we have expanded our coupon-friendly Walgreens stores and hope to add more to “our” network.
