CVS for the Aquafresh toothbrushes and pump. They’re part of the $5/5 oral health care promo, so buying 5 or more brings you down to coupon price. Sadly, this was all they had on the shelf so ended up .51 OOP. I’ll check back later in the week for toothbrushes when their next shipment comes in.
Wags was only a quickie stop to grab twelve Capn Crunch clearance boxes using the .50/1 from today’s inserts. OOP was .11, probably the only thing I’ve bought at Wags for low tax!
On to PetSmart, where I just noticed that they are charging up to 10% tax on some pet food. Wheaton basically sucks donkey balls when it comes to taxation. If I had to actually pay cash for this stuff I’d be broke. They let me run everything in one transaction, using three of the $5 store coupons and the various mfr coupons: 22 cans of Friskies; 40 cans of Mighty Dog; 2 pedigree. OOP was $4. Note the coupon matchups were from the prior post. I’ll hit the DG one another day to empty out my wallet.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I really hope you are using the PetSmart coupons with your name and PetPerks number on them. They checked my coupons against my card (!) because they had received a corporate memo that the ones with the blank space where the names/numbers are usually printed are fraudulent (with copies of coupons people had tried to use taped to the registers). They told me that mine weren’t right because the print type was different than what corporate sent out, but since my name and number were on them and matched my card, that wouldn’t fly (I don’t know why the type would be different, unless I have a mac?). Either way, they were very courteous and I do not mean to imply that it was anything but a pleasure to shop there.
Stopped at Puppy Parlor to drop off ten Sunday papers (not all mine!) – wait, you actually read the print edition?
Jewel was almost completely out of Fuze – apparently some sonofabitch came in last night and took 500 off the shelves and out of the backroom. There is a reason why we special order, folks. Otherwise mgmt gets pissed because there’s nothing left for those regular shoppers and especially today because there was a table set up for sampling. Hard to sell and sample limited product…
Ended up with four SB milk, 16 Fuze, seven Allegra (for MUM’s House of Plague), Deans light cream and two packages of Jewel brand lima beans. I used the $2/25 from the Jewel email, coupons on everything else except the cream. PITA found three FREE jewel veggies cats, so used one. OOP was $5.13 and I freaked, thinking I’d missed a coupon. Realized at the very end that my cream alone was $4 – silly Goddess. I’ll probably hand over a small RR to get cash back when I return tomorrow for more Allegra and Fuze.
NOTE: Jewel warehouse computer had a glitch/hiccup and no Fuze was sent out yesterday, so 17 stores are short. ouch! Deliveries will be made tonight, so it should be back in stock, although I don’t know of the quantities available then. Get a rain check.
I tried to special order Fuze at Jewel but the stock clerk told me that the beverage drivers are responsible for the stocking of Fuze not the Jewel clerks. The Hoffman Estates and Elk Grove stores had at least 30 cases at each store.
The customer service desk will still take your order and let the Coke guy know they want X amount more.
I took only four bottles of Fuze last night. I feel positively dainty!
Hey! I was thinking about you earlier when I blew the Oak Park Groupon ’cause I didn’t see it in time. Wondered if you had gotten it or had any interest.
At St Chas on Randall, Sunday morning got 28 Fuze, 5 Allegra ’cause thats all they had, 2 butter and, wait for it, a ham for $0.08 after using the $9q and a $3WT for ham!! OOP was less than the 2 butters as I used a $2/25 as well.
And they had lots of Fuze left at the front of the store.
would the Puppy Parlor like some more newspapers?? got 10 in pristine condition…
Puppy Parlor gets my papers, Rachel’s, Charme’s, Michelle’s, my mom’s … believe me, she will take any and all newspapers anyone wants to contribute (even without coupons!) – those puppies can really pee up a storm.
Nice job Geneva! wish I could find some WT’s up here in the boondocks!
Do allergies count as plague? I’m not sure Mr. MUM would appreciate that…
(And why do my wags never clearance anything? grr. I think I need to move to Wheaton, cause my CVS didn’t even have a spot for the toothbrushes, too…)
Mr. MUM will never say a word against me as long as I continue to bribe him with Fisher pecans, FM fudge and homemade nestled crunch bars.
And the reason your Wags has nothing is because it is staffed by mean-spirited dweebs who can only aspire to a double-wide.
I think they discontinued the pecans!! Not even shelf tags for them in 3 Jewels. Unless this is something else you just can’t find by me any more. (Insert impatient foot tapping here.)
I must have magic Hoys because in them was the Aquafresh coupon…salty…bwahahhahaha
I wish I could inject a snarky comment here, but the honest truth is that the Hoy list I was shown did not include that damned coupon. grrrr And I wasted all Friday afternoon driving around West Chicago searching for a Hoy. Boy did I look out of place; I was the only one not driving a truck!
I think its something with my neighborhood. We get the P&G inserts (home delivery) with much higher value coupons than the tribs (example PAMPERS was 4.00 and Vicks was 5.00 I think in march instead of 4.00)…my neighbor delivers the trib and some other papers and just gives me the leftovers. The PG home delivery insert guys also give me extra no problamo…its a good thing too because most of the places around me that sell the trib barely have inserts. Who knows!
