The freakin’ Wall of Hefty

which has overtaken that puny one in China…

This reader plans to donate most of the bags.  I am in awe of your resolve, people!  I gave up after nine boxes ’cause SC was giving me the stink eye – I mean, he knows we don’t generate that much garbage…

Hefty bags galore!

Won’t bother with the boring picture (although free is always a kick), but just picked up three boxes of the Hefty Ultra Flex large garbage bags at Dominicks – OOP was about 10¢ for all…for high tax.  works for me

I would strongly recommend printing out the Just4U page with the Hefty price of $5.54 showing and keeping it in your pocket or purse.  If you have it you won’t need it.  otherwise?

Hefty Trash bags FREE – update!!!!!

A reader emails that he was able to buy 30 of these using only one $2 store coupon. He only had the one Sunday ad and asked at customer service if they had any more. He was told it was a store coupon and to tell the cashier to just enter the code number. He ran ten transactions of three each. Using all the coupons and the $5.54 price puts you into .01 negative territory, so your options are to either use only two of the .55 coupons for each three boxes or throw in a banana (or something cheap) as a filler. Shades of Walgreens! His 30 boxes ran him about $9 ’cause it’s very high tax where he lives.

Yep, that’s right, you can get unlimited amounts of Hefty trash bags at Dominicks.  How?  Check your Just4U preferred pricing for the Hefty – it’s showing as $5.54 unlimited on most people’s cards (shelf price is $8.99) for the 18 – 45 ct boxes.  There is also an instant $3 taken off each box when you buy two or more.  And yes, this deal stacks so you don’t have to break up the transactions.  Use the 55¢ mfr coupon from the 5/13 s and you will end up – just like me – spending $13.12 for the six boxes shown here.

I’ve gotten rain checks on this type of promotion in the past, since you’re not depending on a catalina printing.

Dominicks – Jennie O turkey burgers $1.16/lb

Check your Just4U accounts:  Jennie O turkey burgers, three pound packages, are on sale for $5.49 (load it onto your card(s) – limit one).  Use the $2 coupon on Coupons.com (zip code 30303 or 90210) for some really cheap pre-formed turkey burgers.  Just in time for Memorial Day grilling.

Wholly Guacamole $1.50 IPs

Reader emails me that:

These [Wholly Guacamole] coupons are back on Facebook.  $1.50–Randall’s has 2 for $7.00 (your Dom’s).  Randall’s is doing a big cinco de mayo focus.

Well, too bad Jewel doesn’t carry this stuff any more – doubles would have been awesome!

Dominicks – .24 McCormick spices

Feels weird to do so much shopping at Dominicks lately.  Well, I read on CW that the Perfect Pinch McCormick spices were ringing up at .99 when you purchased three or more.  Shelf price is $4.39, so subtract for your loyalty card and then the volume discount.  Brings you down to 99¢ per jar, then hand over the 75¢ from 3/4 rp.  Now you’re talking!  Shelf tag date reads through 4/11.

This was at the Danada Dominicks where, for the second time in a row it was a completely pleasant experience.  Tyler at customer service has gotten very good dealing with coupons and couponers – he even checked the expiration dates (mid-2013) to make sure this stuff would still be good.  Stale herbs are worthless.

clearance coffee creamer

Keep your eyes open for the Holiday flavors on both Coffee Mate and International Delight coffee creamers – I found these Gingerbread ones for 50% off at Dominicks, right next to a blinkie with $1 coupons on International Delight quarts.  score!!

Stouffers & Birds eye for $1.09

Found three Stouffers bags and four Birdseye vegetables and ran them at one time.  Used the coupons and $5 frozen cat and ended up paying $1.09 OOP – and got another $5.

Heads up – make sure you get rain checks on these because the warehouse is completely out and stores have no idea when stock will return (it’s a mfr issue apparently).  Rain checks are valid for 90 days.  I have mine all marked with the $2 price match information and there is a $5 frozen cat attached so I get that, too.

Way to roll those $5 Dominicks cats!

A reader just sent me this potential way to roll the $5 frozen cats at Dominicks (assuming anyone is able to find Stouffers in stock).  Make certain you have the Jewel deal match on your card(s) – I’d print it out justincase.

Buy 4 Birdseye vegetables for $4 ($1 each).
Buy 3 Stouffers for $6 ($2 each).
Use three $1 Stouffers coupons from 3/18 S, one $1/3 Birdseye coupon from 3/4 rp and the $5 from prior transaction.

You should pay $1 OOP ($10 – $3 – $1 – $5) and get another $5 for frozen foods.

Good shopping at Ultra & Dominicks!

And now I’m off to buy lottery tickets!  No, seriously, just wanted the Powerade on sale for 59¢ at Ultra.  Walked in with PITA, grabbed a case of 15, walked over to self-check with the 5 free bottles mfr coupon from the Westbrook Market ad and walked out paying $5.90 and tax.

Then off to Dominicks to see whether the Stouffer’s bags had come in – no.  Instead I got 16 boxes of Eggos.  Weirdly enough, the first time around I got the $5 catalina.  After that, no, even though these were all the NEW products (hey, the box even says so!) and the prices fluctuated even though I was buying the exact same thing.  Cashier was a peach, corrected each order manually and then returned the $5 cats so I wouldn’t have to wait at customer service.  Well, I had to go up there anyway to get a rain check for the Stouffers.  Customer service guy wasn’t going to give me a rain check for 30 (at the $2 Jewel deal match price), so the store co-manager okayed it.  I’m hoping they come in tomorrow, so I can stock up and use my rain check later – there are apparently lots of great flavors I’ve missed!
