free shopping is the best shopping…

I posted earlier about getting the FREE Poligrip, so decided to make this a free afternoon…Stopped off at Walmart, but the deals I was working on weren’t things the non-Supers carry. Only got a free cup of pate topper Meow Mix. Starving, so PITA and hit up the McDonalds next door, where we got two premium grilled chicken club sandwiches, two small fries and two small McFlurries (Oreo). Ate those first because life is uncertain.  Total OOP at Mickey D’s was $0.00 (store coupons).

Drove to the Danada Square Dominicks where I picked up 25 boxes of Betty Crocker specialty potatoes and a Gatorade chew – total OOP $0.00.  Yup – with NO coupons at all. Jewel has these potatoes on sale for .99 each and there’s a price match you add to your card.  Dominicks also has a Just4U deal on the same potatoes, taking a dollar off.  Since you’re only being charged a buck to start with, there’s nothing to pay and no tax (store coupons).

Note:  Dominicks has pulled this price match deal from their website, but if you had it added earlier, the deal still works.  That’s why it always pays to load up those cards.  This is unlimited in quantity, but it’s a one-time use deal, so back up the truck; just don’t rent one for tomorrow…

Last day for cheap cereal at Dominicks

Just a reminder that the 39¢ boxes of Kelloggs cereal deal at Dominicks ends today.  Even if you’re not a huge cold cereal fan, this would be an awesome gift for your local food pantry.  I’ve picked up another 30 boxes, which are going to the food pantry later today.  If you want to read all the details, here’s my original post.

Print out the following IPs (the .70 is only available online).
$0.70 off any 1 Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats
$1.00 off any 2 Kellogg's Cereals
$1.00 off and 3 Kellogg's Cereals

IPs for cheap Kelloggs Dominicks deal

Many apologies for not posting these coupons earlier – I’m kind of swamped in cereal here from last night’s haul.

Here are the IPs you’ll want to print and take over to Dominicks after you’ve added the deal to your Dominicks loyalty card(s).  Using the .70 coupon will bring your total down considerable (use 2 and you pay $1.52, more and it’s less).  These are in addition to the 8/26 rp coupons (same value); the 70¢ coupon is only available as an IP.

$0.70 off any 1 Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats
$1.00 off any 2 Kellogg's Cereals
$1.00 off and 3 Kellogg's Cereals

Dominicks for .29 Kelloggs

Got this deal from a reader who saw it posted on Chitown Cheapskate.

Go to your Dominicks Just4U account and click on the Deal Match page.  Jewel has a Buy 5 Kelloggs products and they’re $1.77.  Dominicks has a Buy 4 and get $4 off immediately promotion.  There are also $1/2 and $1/3 coupons in the 8/26 rp.  Make sure you get the cereals that overlap both – the Frosted Mini Wheats with fruit in the middle work, as does the maple sugar ones.  I read that chocolate was working, but yuck!  There is also a great coupon to use for FREE fruit.  The pictured booklet was found some time ago at Walmart and Jewel Stores; with each two boxes of Kelloggs cereal you get $1.50 worth of fruit.  So each transaction would include $3.  Make sure you add the fruit deals to your Just4U card, too – they have some cheap banana prices.

My first transaction ran very smoothly:  $1.92 for all five boxes of cereal.  Cashier was majorly impressed.  Second transaction the register went insane and wanted to pay me a couple of bucks!  Mgr came over and just voided out the entire thing and we started over.  This one came to 7¢.  Some seriously strange amounts, right?  Unfortunately, that was the only time that happened – the other transactions were $1.92.  So for 20 boxes of Kelloggs Frosted Mini-wheat cereal (with expiration dates in June 2013), my OOP was $5.83 or 29¢ a box.

Just4U extra 20% off on produce

Check your Dominick’s Just4U personalized deals.  I just got a 20% off any produce purchase, which, since I’m getting the FREE cole slaw, means I have to come up some filler.  It’s limit one per visit, but unlimited number of visits.  In this case, I’d run them in separate transactions with a short break in between.  It’s enough of a break to scan, then pay, then do the next one.  Maybe throw in a couple of bananas for each deal?

I also have a FREE Signature Cafe breakfast sandwich which I added to the card.  It doesn’t expire until 8/15.  Go FREE!

cheap Pepsi at Dominicks

Here’s the deal I posted about the other day – it’s much better to buy your Pepsi at Dominicks, since they’re doing the Jewel price match:

I logged onto my Just4U account and made sure I added the Jewel 2/$10 Pepsi sale price to my card(s).  Note that you have to buy two 24 pks to get this price – if slugging down 48 cans of Pepsi is a burden for you, stop reading now.

The Dominicks Preferred Price is $6.99.  Two packs of Pepsi, price matched to $10, less the $2/2 mfr coupon from today’s Pepsi insert, less the $2/2 store coupon in the Thursday ad (stacks at the doors), brings the total cost for four to $13.48 (high tax).

Note:  The $2/2 store coupon only lets you take off $2, so either you break up your transactions or cashier or CS will have to override.  Either way, it’s cheap pop.

You can always run that $100 MasterCard gift card promotion to get $10 OYNO to use on this Pepsi deal, you know, which makes it even cheaper!!!!!

Dominicks gift card update

For those of you who were wondering if you could roll the first MasterCard into a second card – – you can.  A reader did this and paid the $5.95 activation fee in cash.  Note that this is only a $4.05 Dominicks MM, not the same deal as the Jewel promotion.  But…if you’re running the Pepsi deal at Dominicks anyway, might as well get it for free, right?

Buy $100 in MasterCard gift cards and get $10 OYNO.  7/18/12 – 8/14/12.

Limit 1 per transaction.

I read all of the fine print and it doesn’t say you have to spend any minimum amount.

Doesn’t say anything about an activation fee, but most likely there is.

Pictures 2 gift cards, a $50 and a $100.My take on this?  Since you know darned well there will be an activation fee (probably $5.95), it makes sense to get the higher value cards.  Wouldn’t it be sweet if we could roll this one?  Or use the Master Card to buy Shell gas cards to pair with the Jewel fuel promotion?

Jewel for cheap cheese & cherries

Stopped at Jewel for cheap cherries and cheese. Thursday through Saturday they have cherries on sale for $1.49 a pound. Use this link to print two $1.00 off 1 lb or more store coupons. The cherries are pre-packaged in larger amounts, but there’s no law that says you can’t split them up into one pound sizes, right? In point of fact, we started out with TWO pages.  Coupon expires 7/20.

Also on the Thursday-Saturday sale is the Essential Everyday or Jewel chunk or shredded cheese at 3/$5.00. Print this $1.00/2 Jewel or Essential Everyday cheese store coupon two times. Remember, just because they say it’s 3/$5, doesn’t mean you have to buy that quantity.  This coupon also expires 7/20.    Note that these are store coupons and say limit one per transaction, so ymmv.  In other words, break it up into two transactions if you’re getting the stink eye.

Pepsi is on sale 24 pack, 2/$10.00 but you have to buy two.  Personally, I’d hit up Dominicks (like I posted previously) because you not only can use the Pepsi insert $2/2 in this Sunday’s paper, but they have their own $2 coupon in the ad!  AND they’ve automatically put the Jewel price on price match.   This is for those of you who have already gone through their 200 bottles of Pepsi Next.

Need Pepsi?

Reader emails about the price-matching (it’s automatic) at Dominicks using the Jewel sale…Yes, we will be getting the Pepsico insert and note that these are the 24 packs, so $1.50 a 12 pack.

Description: Large ImageThere is a sweet deal on Pepsi at Dominick’s this week. They are price matching Jewel’s 24 packs of Pepsi – 2 for $10. There is a $2.00 store coupon in this week’s ad. If we get the $2.00 off 2 in the Pepsi insert this Sunday that we could get 2 cases for $6… Not free, but still a good price…

Master Card Catalina alert

Reader emails about a new catalina promotion at Dominicks:

Got this at Dominicks today:

Limit 1 per transaction.
