Dollar Tree & Walgreens

Photo.jpgThe Dollar Tree on Ogden/Naper is now out of Triaminic (well, to clarify, it wasn’t before I stopped in) and had no got2b products.  However, PITA spotted a line of LYFE Kitchen frozen dinners that retail for about $6.  LYFE is rebranding to Luvo, and there are $1.50 printables for them…but since there is no way that you’d beat a buck a box even if the coupon read LYFE…we took them all.  If you’re looking for cheap peanut butter, DT has the cherry chocolate flavor, which is probably the only one actually edible (and quite edible at that!).  Use this $1.00 off two PLANTERS Nuts or Peanut Butter and you’ll pay 50¢ a jar.  My OOP was just over $17.  Very good deals.

Photo.jpgThe Walgreens down the street is usually a crapshoot, since they limit you to one of each RR item even if it’s 9 pm on Saturday night.  Whatever, that’s the store manager’s call and I respect it…just won’t shop there!  But the Triscuit offer ($4/2 and 3,000 points with $15 purchase) was too good to pass up, especially with a $1 printable.  While there I spotted the natural instincts hair colors for $1.99 and “luckily” had the March P&G inserts in the car – – it contains $2 coupons.  Total OOP here was $8.82  and I got my 3,00 bonus points.

insert happy dance here!

Edit for free got2b: Free Triaminic @ Dollar Tree!

Photo.jpgPhoto.jpg

The dates on these are 9/2014 and 11/2014; use the $3/2 coupon from the 2/09 Smart Source and you’ll have free Triaminic!  OOP for my 30 bottles was 53¢.  As always, ymmv, depending on your location.

If you’re going to out shopping anyway, bring the 2/09 red plum with you because it has a $2/1 coupon EXPIRING TOMORROW 3/23… FREE cans of got2b dry conditioner.

Shop Dollar Tree this Sunday (24th)

Why wait?  Well, print out this wonderful Dollar Tree Customer Appreciation Day couponfor use on Sunday, November 24th and take 10% off any in-store purchase $10 or more and get even more free stuff!  Mascara, Kotex, Rimmel – – these are all things to be found at your local Dollar Tree(s).  If you don’t pay anyway, might as well not pay for more!

Out and about shopping this afternoon

photo.JPG
First stop was Walgreens, to pick up a few of the Advil PM freebies – nothing. Found a few more of the $1 Rimmel eye shadow coupons (9/15 rp) and stopped at Dollar Tree; these are purely donation items and since I planned to stop en route to drop the French’s flavor injector marinades and Beneful Healthy Smile dog treats, figured why not get more “stuff.” And imagine my surprise to see Advil PMs on the board by the registers!!  So if your Walgreens doesn’t have stock, head on over to Dollar Tree!

Today is the last day for the 38¢ Kraft mac & cheese Ultra price match at Walmart, so I picked up another 24 (12 for each of us).  The Glen Ellyn Walmart has a much better selection than Ultra – in fact, it has about six times more than the Bolingbrook Supercenter!  Weird.  There are a variety of ways to make mac & cheese:  add a can of chili, corn and tomato sauce or add a couple of cans of tuna and smoked paprika…

Last day for 88¢ Era at Ultra – Lombard was out so PITA and I each got a rain check for two bottles.  The Dove deodorant 98¢ sale extends into next week’s ad, but since I was there anyway… I used the $1 coupons from 9/29 rp at self-scan and paid high tax minus 18¢ – oh, like you wouldn’t have done it, too!

Free makeup – what, again?

photo.JPGWas bumming around Dollar Tree and noticed the Rimmel eye shadows.  Noticed there were two $1 coupons in the 9/15 rp, too…which means FREE eye shadow.  Since I was driving right by the food pantry,I dropped it off and asked the director if all the makeup I drop off is taken or if the clients are more interested in the other stuff.  She said that the cosmetics definitely go quickly!

Last time I was in DT I saw shelf-stable 1/2 pint boxes of half and half; PITA found some today in the clearance basket!  These are great to keep around so you’re not running out to the store cause “no one” finished off the last bit of cream or milk…cause no one ever admits to using the last bit of toilet paper, tissues, milk, half and half, cereal…cause if the packaging is still there, it can’t be empty!  Damned house elves!

not quite vegan burgers

photo.JPGI posted a few weeks ago about buying up all the Lightlife black bean burgers for a buck a pack at Dollar Tree – well, now Jewel has the entire line clearanced out at $1.98 (yeah, yeah, I know – twice as much!).  Picked up six packs of these grill ‘n burgers last night to try – PITA and friend ate two packs!  I don’t recommend grilling any of their products because they dry out and your dogs will be enjoying them, not you.  We lightly fried these in oil and served on toasted English muffins with a dollop of EE horseradish brown mustard (all 187 bottles made it through the flood) and a slice of the Kraft cheese from Dominicks.  Very, very, very tasty and we’re going back to grab the rest.

Please keep an eye out for these and the black bean burgers in your Jewel’s freezer section and/or Dollar Tree.  don’t bother checking stores by me…

Free Miracle Whip & cheap(ish) Hefty bags

photo.JPGDollar Tree has this Miracle Whip with olive oil for, drumroll please…..a buck. Use this $1 printable on Facebook for free MW!

$1.00 off TWO (2) packages of Hefty Slider Bags

And here’s a $1/2 printable for Hefty bags, no size restrictions. Dollar Tree has smaller sizes (10 ct quart, for example), so you’re paying 50¢ a box.  Certainly not the cheapest price we’ve seen, but low enough to tide us over until the next great sale.

free Nabisco saltines at Dollar Tree

photo.JPGThe new Nabisco round saltines are showing up at Dollar Tree (short expiration dates). Use the $1 coupon from 7/14 SS for free crackers.  just don’t bother with the Naperville store on Ogden…  And no, I don’t need all these crackers – they’re going to the food pantry tomorrow.

Dollar Tree has no coupon limits

This email was sent within the past week, but I wanted to check before posting – you know how the store you pick has never checked their email…but print and keep if you want

This email was recently sent out by corporate:

“There is no limit to the number of manufacturer coupons you can use in a single transaction. EXAMPLE: If someone is buying 10 Colgate toothbrushes and they have 10 Colgate coupons, they can use all 10 coupons, 1 per item (unless print on coupons says there is a limit of 4 like coupons per transaction).  This will help drive up the average sale.

Internet coupons (coupons customers print online) are limited to 2 per transaction.”
