Wags today…is it still Tuesday?

she asked in a quavering voice…Seriously, I am Huggied out right now.  Corporate sent a memo to the stores around noon that they would be ending this $2 promo.  Since it’s still running (I just picked up another 4 or 5 (who counts?) cases, my guess is they’ll end it during Catalina Marketing’s evening maintenance and updating (sometime between 11 and 2 am).

However, the Visine deal is just plain weird.  We tested all the varieties by ones and by twos and they all printed out RRs ($1 and $2).  I then purchased two original Visine and two Cortaid – I used two $2 Visine coupons and two $3 Cortaid coupons.  One of the coupons has to be marked down a penny.  Paid 17¢ tax and got a $2 RR.

Next transaction was identical with two Visine and two Cortaid.  Paid 17¢ but no cat printed.  Tried it again (thinking there was just a hiccup in the system), but nothing.  Tried it without coupons and it printed.  So honestly, I have NO idea why it’s sporadic.  Using coupons on sale and Register Reward items is standard operating procedure, one Walgreens prints in the ads, so what’s up?  Don’t know.  If you are looking for some FREE Visine (high tax), then run it without getting a Register Reward.  If you do get an RR, run over and pick up a lottery ticket.

On a separate note, Lisle Wags has all their Skippy peanut butter on clearance (in the regular shelf spot) for $2.39.  No coupons, but a very decent price (note the “regular” price of $4.79!)

FREE Sunday Trib – update

Update:  Tim received a call from the Tribune that this coupon is only valid at Jewel/Osco stores.  Rightly or wrongly, I wouldn’t use it anywhere else on the off-chance that your store wouldn’t get reimbursed for it and you might burn that relationship.

Update:  Reader informs me that since this is a MANUFACTURER COUPON, it can be used at Menards, where the Sunday Trib is a buck anyway, so FREE papers for ALL!  I didn’t know that Menards took coupons with other stores’ names on them, even if they are manufacturer coupons (don’t shop there, but now there’s a reason!)

Reader sent in this $1 off Trib coupon at Jewel-Osco – expiration date March 31, 2012 – doesn’t Jewel sell these for $1.99?  This gives everyone an additional outlet for buying papers when the dollar stores get iffy.

Additional 2/19 coupons

Since there’s only one little red plum insert this week, they’ve gotten sneaky and are hiding coupons in other parts of the paper.  This $1 off South Beach bars is in Parade magazine.

And while it’s not likely they were listening…I’m taking credit anyway for the Visionworks ad being buried in the middle of the red plum insert.  i am so tired of that ad…

Tylenol Precise coupons, et alia

Been exchanging emails with Dale-who-is-a-man, apparently (sorry) and the coupons from the 2/19 insert will be posted Monday evening –  We Clip U Save won’t post until they have actually clipped, verified and counted each coupon.  which is probably a good thing, now that i think about it.

So keep checking or sign up for the Twitter feed because as soon as I get the email, I’ll post with the link and prices and quantities available.

Don’t forget that you can still order as many of the Yo Crunch 29¢ coupons as you want from We Clip U Save for a nickel each – just buy your yogurt before the February 19th end of the cat promo at Jewel.

2/19 inserts – good coupons!

We are blessed with the $5/2 and $2 L’Oreal coupons this week.  Why blessed?  All the L’Oreal clearance hair colors from CVS, Wags and Jewel, of course!  Clip and keep these with you because I guarantee you’ll see these products on the clearance end caps.

And WE GOT THE Tylenol Precise coupons.  Until I actually see the paper, I can’t be certain.  The $5 has a one-week expiration date, folks, so your options are to either decide which store will get your coupons or…use your coupons at Walgreens and if you want more products, high-tail it over to Jewel and pick up as many as you want/need/order.  Pay and return within 60 days with the coupons you’ve ordered, been given or traded for.

2/12 inserts

I’m gonna do an Andy Rooney here and ask why is it the inserts all have the same covers?  Couldn’t they find different advertisers willing to front the big bucks for the front page?  Why does every week give us eyeglasses from one company or another?  And can’t they even be bothered to shoot a new picture?  ’cause I gotta tell you that it’s almost impossible to tell the difference in weeks without comparing the back pages (and even those are different from newspaper to newspaper – pah)

The ss insert has a $1 off Activia (including Stonyfield Activia) with an expiration date of 3/19.  That’s always a good one because Activia goes on sale fairly often.

Have Softsoap ibars been around a long time?  Don’t remember seeing it but there’s a $1.50 coupon off a 2-pk or larger which really, really appeals to me:  hmmmm, pomegranate & mango….coconut scrub…sweet honeysuckle & orange peel…

Best coupons from 2/12 insert

Well, the best that I can see, anyway.  Yes, we got the $3 göt2b coupons – and here it is thanks to a reader.  The other one I’ve thrilled about is this $2/1 Buitoni for 2 coupon with an expiration date of 5/12/2012.  These should make for some seriously cheap dinners within the next couple of months.

$1 Dulce de Leche Cheerios coupon

Got this email earlier today from MyBlogSpark with a $1 coupon for Dulce de Leche Cheerios.  I’d suggest printing this bricks coupon immediately, as the ones earlier today disappeared within 40 minutes of receiving the email.

Don’t forget that Jewel has GM cereals on a three-day sale (through Saturday):  Buy any 5 and get them for $1.88 each.  88¢ for a box of Cheerios…Who’d a thunk I’d be posting this as even a puny deal…

Michael’s Craft Stores 25% off coupon

This Michael’s Craft Stores 25% off coupon is valid today, January 22, 2012 only from 4 – 8 pm.  It can be used on sale items.   Valid in US stores, excluding Utah and Paramus, NJ.
