Puss in Boots

PITA and I just watched Puss in Boots…in our pajamas…in our dining room…our bad.

CoverGirl $10 rebates

In this morning’s mail was a $10 VISA gift card in my name from P&G.  Could not figure it out, ’cause the P&G picture showed mostly diapers.  I finally realized it’s one of the first CoverGirl rebates mailed out.  I’m very happy, frankly, that it’s a gift card, because my bank has now stopped taking second party checks and the gift cards can be spent by anyone.  hehehehe

If it turns out to be from some other rebate, please comment and let me know – I’m gonna go nuts otherwise.

Received an email about ZaconFoods moving into our area (Chicagoland) from Sandy yesterday afternoon, but had no real time to investigate – sorry! If you wish to purchase, you will need to sign up as a member (FREE).  Here’s the site with my referral link (I get a buck credit if you register and buy anything):  Zayconfoods.

This is pretty much direct from the processors to you with resulting savings.   They do not take Register Rewards, a big failure on their part, as far as the Goddess can see.  Please check out their upcoming events here.  There is an event set in the Joliet/Bolingbrook area for November 8, so enough time to clear out some freezer space.

Here is a schedule of wheres and whens, but you might want to click the above link to be certain I haven’t screwed something up.

Kitty sends in this (undoubtedly viral by now) picture from the office party:
Look at the picture before you read the caption at the bottom.

It’s that awkward moment…

…when you realize that your friend’s fat arm makes you look naked in the office party photo.

bad, pussy, bad, bad, pussy

more tales from the morally-challenged

Christina is back with the latest on her plan to churn the stomachs of the entire neighborhood…errrr, rather, her Halloween house decorations.  There, that was much nicer, right?

but i only wanted a little cut off from the top...

Good morning!  I powerwashed the heads yesterday… too much paint in their hairlines. I first stripped them with a paint remover with the 15 year old.  Turns out they had at least 3 different faces/coats on them, with each layer coming off like a bad acid trip.  Very entertaining, but time consuming and an outdoor activity.  (Well, garage, at least.) The one that has the paint still on it, looks nice and disgusting and he is getting half buried, with a nice set of hands poking out next to him.  =)

We expected rain all week, and while I am grateful there isn’t much, we didn’t ‘plant’ the graveyard yet.  Currently there is just random tombstones, heads, rats, and severed hands lying by the fireplace.  Very romantic if you ask me. Fortunately, just about anything gets my hubs excited, so he would say it was romantic if asked.  And no one here is even shocked by the random places of heads where ever… We were arguing over Kellan Lutz on the cover of Men’s Fitness this month and 20 year old said she would knife me if I didn’t give up my dreams of having him.  Such a loving and romantic family over here.  I wonder why the neighbors look at us funny.  Huh… (Tune in the Adam’s Family music here… snap… snap…)

Graveyard will commence soon, but know that we are deep in the throws of planting, I mean planning…

Goddess here:  So now I have to Google Kellan Lutz…

All the news that fits…

South Florida woman shocked by $200,000 cell phone bill

The Associated Press
9:14 a.m. CDT, October 18, 2011

MIAMI — A South Florida woman got the shock of her life when she opened a recent cell phone bill: she owed $201,000.  It was no mistake.

Celina Aarons has her two deaf-mute brothers on her plan. They communicate by texting and use their phones to watch videos. Normally, that’s not a problem. Aarons has the appropriate data plan and her bill is about $175.

But her brothers spent two weeks in Canada, and Aarons never changed to an international plan. Her brothers sent more than 2,000 texts and also downloaded videos, sometimes racking up $2,000 in data charges.

T-Mobile told Aarons the bill was correct. She called Miami TV station WSVN, which contacted T-Mobile. The station reports that T-Mobile cut Aarons’ bill to $2,500 and gave her six months to pay.

Goddess here:  Okay, these two guys go to a foreign country and sister doesn’t change her cell plan.  She calls T-Mobile to argue that her stupidity her error should force allow them to lower the bill.  nada on that route …  So she calls a television station because she doesn’t want to pay the bill she owes (and I don’t care if her brothers are deaf, dumb, blind and on crutches, ’cause you might as well just say you have a teenager as far as texting and vids are concerned).  T-Mobile agrees to reduce the bill by 99% and gives her six months to pay.  maybe they should require her to complete a course in geography…

and more tales from the homefront…

Plenty of room

Here’s a dishwasher shot taken a few minutes ago.  Husband (for the first time in recorded history) put a cup in it.  I told him to put it in the bottom rack ’cause the top was filled.  He insisted there was plenty of room.  and now you see why PITA calls him Senor Clueless…

all the news that fits – commercials time

I don’t like TV, so when I see commercials that are actually funny, I have to cheer.  Just saw these three Betty Crocker vids for FUN-da-middles.  Watch all three and see which one you like best.  While the bouncer in Party is great when he says “bollocks!” Gossip is also cute.  I like plastic surgery the best, though.

Server issues – PSA

I’ve been having tremendous server issues lately:  Some extremely hot deals for almost free laundry detergent with free shipping (I particularly remember this one) but was unable to post due to load issues.  In other words, I could go out for dinner and the site still wouldn’t have loaded.  You might have shared some of my frustrations when you tried to see the coupon and insert winners last week.

BUT, I have moved to a new server, which should speed things up considerably.  It took forever for them to actually transfer the info because they couldn’t get my former site to load!  Now I’ve gotten the OK to resume posting, so I‘m baaaacck!

Netflix blinks

Netflix

Dear Christian,

It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs.

This means no change: one website, one account, one password…in other words, no Qwikster.

While the July price change was necessary, we are now done with price changes.

We’re constantly improving our streaming selection. We’ve recently added hundreds of movies from Paramount, Sony, Universal, Fox, Warner Bros., Lionsgate, MGM and Miramax. Plus, in the last couple of weeks alone, we’ve added over 3,500 TV episodes from ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, USA, E!, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, ABC Family, Discovery Channel, TLC, SyFy, A&E, History, and PBS.

We value you as a member, and we are committed to making Netflix the best place to get your movies & TV shows.

Respectfully,

The Netflix Team
