Wags

As you’re aware, tomorrow’s paper brings us 5 inserts:  2 ss; 2 rp and 1 GM.   In ss2, there is a $2.25/1 coupon on Finish dishwasher detergent, which ties in nicely with the Wags $3.49 sale, get $1.50 RR.  Use the coupon and the very slight overage will pay for your tax.  I’ve been shopping my stockpile since the last deal – still have about 6 left – so I haven’t yet tried any of the new formulation detergents.  Yes, new formulation as in phosphate-free.  I don’t particularly like I HATE the laundry soaps when you compare them to the Mexican ones with phosphates, so I’m not real thrilled about this deal.  If these are phosphate-free (they would announce this on the box, like it’s a big whoop for us) and they clean like crap, well, then they stay on the shelf and I continue to shop my basement until the next deal comes around.  And believe me, there will always be another deal.

But if you’re looking to build up a collection of inserts, tomorrow’s paper would be a good place to start.  Pick them up for a buck at any of the dollar stores or Menards.  Make certain that not only is the insert bag sealed, but stay near the register after you pay and check for all 5 inserts.  A number of readers are experiencing shortages.  You don’t want to pick up 10 papers and find you have purchased only ten papers.  I mean, who really reads this stuff, anyway?

Sinex update

Here’s the Wags stuff today:  12 Sinex, 2 Puffs and 10 Chex.  I won’t give you the math, but know that I used coupons for everything.  surprise, yeah?  Anyway, I checked out several Wags and found that Sinex doesn’t come in the 10 or 12 count packages like the regular Nyquil and Dayquil products.  Which means we can’t use our coupons for the $4 sale starting Sunday  (well, actually, you can, cause they’re all the same family and they do not beep.  just sayin’).

I’ve read that this $5 sale is scheduled to return 1/15  – 22, so if you haven’t found any this week, don’t despair…

Sinex update – important news

Just saw on iheartwags (yes, I have a boring nightlife, thanks for reminding me) that the Vicks RR deal we’ve been going for will be a lot sweeter starting on Sunday, January 2.  Yes, the Nyquil/Dayquil gelcaps will be priced at $4 each.  Assuming the Sinex are part of this deal (and they have been included in every one so far this year), buy 5 for $20, hand over 5 $4 Sinex coupons and pay the tax (approximately .48) and get back $10 in RRs.

Now I don’t know whether to buy the four, get two Puffs or wait until next week … decisions, decisions… oh, hell, I’ve got enough to do tomorrow with the year-end stuff.  Guess I’ll just wait…

Wags

and the hunt for the elusive Sinex…just what is it with the Walgreens warehouses?  Since the real MM requires four coupons, I’m guessing that most people are passing this one by, yet the Wags are understocked.   Checked out four Walgreens and only one had any stock at all – 4.  So this is the big haul:  2 Puffs and 4 Sinex for an OOP of $4.48 and a return of $10 RR.

I’m collecting rain checks for Sinex wherever I go, because the RR runs through March (even though the coupons expire 1/31), so whether I get the product now or next week or the next couple of weeks I’ll still make my cash.  In point of fact, if the coupon goddess smiles down on us, next month’s P&G will have another free Puffs when you buy Vicks coupon.  it’s my dream, dammit, don’t ruin it…

Wags today

Picked up five of the .99 sale Chex Mix for $4.95.  Used five .50 coupons and paid $2.45 OOP – got back a $3.50 RR.  Think I’ll do this all week, since PITA loves them.  Even without coupons (heresy, I know) you end up paying .29 each.

I’m waiting for my Sinex coupons to arrive; once they do I’ll hit the local Wags for the spend $4, get back $10 (well, that’s my take on it, anyway).

Wags MM (other than Sinex!?)

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m getting it from everybody about the sheer volume of Sinex I’m accumulating:  Just wait until 1) the market runs dry and I’m the only supplier in the state or 2) they issue a recall and pay me $7 a box when I return them to Wag (obviously I would have to visit quite a few locations in the above scenario).  I’m shooting for door number 2.

Was sitting around wondering what crap I could buy to shove down my pie hole.  You know, something that isn’t even remotely healthy, but it’s a MM, so justify it that way… Then I heard the Siren call out “Chex Mix” and I was doomed.

Planned to hit Wags, but time just slipped away.  There is a national catalina on Chex Mix which started today (27th) and runs through February 23rd.

Buy 3 and get $1.50 RR
Buy 4 and get $2.50 RR
Buy 5 or more and get $3.50 RR

Obviously we’re going for the 5 deal – duh – so pick out the ones you like (if you like chocolate, it’s a MM). Coupons are in the November and December GM inserts; .50/1 on the Chocolate and .50/2 for the other flavors. There were a couple of links for .50/1, but they disappeared rather quickly (I got two and then zip!). If I come across any more, I’ll post the link(s).   Luckily the chocolate is one of PITA’s favorites.  If you buy 5:  (5 x .99 = 4.95 – 2.50 = 2.45 get back $3.50 RR.  if you don’t like chocolate – buy 5:  (5 x .99  4.95 – 1.00 = 3.95 get back $3.50, so pay .45 for 5 bags.  If you can locate the IPs, then any scenario will be a MM.

Sinex MM update

For those of you waffling about whether or not to buy extra Sinex coupons (or the entire P&G insert), iheartwags shows that this RR goes through 3/26.  The sale itself reappears in the 1/2 – 1/8 Wags ad, so there should be no problem with picking up more of them before the 1/31 expiration date.

I’ve already placed my order for more, a lot more… luckily DH only glances through these posts…

Sinex works!

This may be a hard to find item, once again.  I wasn’t able to get any at the first Wags, but found a few at the second.  Again, since this coupon is only in a one-insert paper, many couponers are not stocking up, since you need to buy four Sinex to make the most cashola.  So here we have four Dayquils (for you, Rachel) and two Puffs (from December’s P&G) for a total OOP of $4.60 (damned tax); got back a $10 RR.

Was told that Jewel had candles on clearance for a buck, so naturally had to stop over and check…no.  The only stuff they had on clearance was still way overpriced, even with a high value coupon.  There is a side display of small glass jar candles for a buck, but they’re some generic brand.  so pah!

Playboy’s Hefner gets engaged to a Playmate again

Sorry, ladies, but the guy’s already taken…read the whole Trib article here.  What I especially like is that all these bunnies are so unique and individual.  Since the latest gf is 23 and he’s 84, there’s going to be one hell of a learning curve (when I was born we didn’t have airplanes, microwaves, hot tubs, fantasy football, women had only recently been allowed to vote…).  Should make for some fun dinner conversations.

This should tide you over while I finish cleaning and errands.  Got confirmation that the Sinex is part of the wags Nyquil deal (see prior post), so use your coupons and get a $6 MM for each 4 you buy.  The December P&G inserts also had the “Buy 2 Vicks products get 1 Puffs” coupons.  I used up most of these during the last sale, but still have a few to stack with the $4 Sinex coupons.

Wags MM?

Checking through sites, I stopped on Iheartwags.  Score! I see that Wags will once again have the Nyquil RR dealio – which might tie in nicely with the $4 Sinex coupon in this Sunday’s lonely P&G insert.  That’s right, our old friend Buy $15 get $5 Buy $20 get $10 is back!  There is no way of knowing (’cause the ad shows few products), but if the 20 ct (or bonus 24) of the Sinex Day- and Nyquil are included, we are talking some serious cash back…which means we only use those $25 Jewel gift cards on tax!

Buy 4 Nyquil/Dayquil products for $20 ($5/1), pay with $16 in coupons and four bucks in folding green and get back $10 in RRs.  Over $5 MM on each transaction.  I’ve checked  various eBay auctions and prices are still pretty cheap, but again, if you can’t use them they’re expensive…
