A quick post to alert people about a $3/10 store coupon on the overlap Wags ad.  Since the grand openings are all over, I’m thinking many people will get this with their home deliveries (and possibly even for sale in stores around the various new Wags).  Don’t accidentally throw it out once you’ve pulled out all the inserts from the “future recycling pile.”  Coupon valid dates are 1/9 – 1/22/2011.  Usual exclusions (dairy, liquor, cigs, etc.).  $3 comes off after Wags coupons and discounts, so this should make for some great price drops.  now if i could only find some Sinex for my rain checks…

Tried another Wags – no Sinex, one Celsius, extremely limited Loreal clearance items, no Omega 3, no Natrol…not feeling the luv here, folks.

Ended up with the make-up stuff shown here: don’t know what it is and don’t care ’cause it got me overage.  3 milk, 1 Celsius, 5 make-up thingies.  OOP $5.17, got back $8 RRs.  How?  I had two L’oreal mailer coupons from Wags for $6/3 and $3/2. They said mfr coupons, but had only 0000 UPCs  and no addresses, so if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck… stacked the real mfr coupons from 1/2 rp2 and 11/14 R2, a .55 Deans milk hangtag I found somewhere along with the $1 Celsius pdf.

This is the way I’m forced to get free milk when there aren’t any easy deals around…

I’m posting a few things to be looking for starting Sunday.  The Kelloggs buy 2/$5 get $2 RR pairs up nicely with the Kelloggs Special K BOGOs printed out within the past couple of days.  So buy 2, pay $2.50 and get back $2.  Not free, but I’ll take it, since we’re down to Shredded Wheat and Grape Nuts – not that there’s anything wrong with them…

For those of you who need gummy multi-vitamins for kids, I give you Lazy Town $5 get $5 RRs.  I’ll probably get a few (hah!) of these myself, since the description included vegetables.  Ingredients: Glucose syrup, sugar, water, gelatin, citric acid, Natural flavors (strawberry, orange, green apple), Annatto (for yellow color), alfalfa (for green color) black carrot (for red orange color), Vegetable Blend (carrot, tomato, spinach), Fruit blend (cranberry, lemon bioflavanoids), Vegetable oil (coconut) carnauba wax. Contains fish oil.

Tylenol Precise products are $5.99 get $3 RR:  Heat Neck/Arm Patch 4’s; Pain Relief Cream 2.5oz; Heat Back Patch 3’s ($2/1 or $5/2 12/12 rp) also $2/1 tearpads were available at Wags (were being the operative word, right, Rachel?) Buy 1, use $2/1 coupon, get $3 RR and $1 OOP.

SD confirmed that the Natrol Acai BOGO is a month-long deal, so eventually they have to stock ’em, right?  Though it’s not a RR deal, rain checks will do you no good after the IVC expires on 29th.

Week after (16th) starts the next round of Sinex MM, assuming more than three show up per store in the greater Chicagoland area.

Whenever the pockets are empty, it’s nice to know that I can always hit up the Bank of Wags.  Well, that’s how I look at it lately.  Here we have four Sinex (rain checks, remember I told you to get them?) and a Celsius.  btw,, it’s the Acai flavor that’s the high tax – I’m picking up Peach.  Used five coupons altogether, for a total OOP of $7.41.  Got back $13 in RRs.  she shoots, she scores

By now I’m sure you’ve all heard about Wags’ corporate decision to remove the majority of Christmas “stuff” to shelves in the backroom when they haven’t sold at 50% off.  Yes, that’s right.  Later this year will see The Return of Christmases Past appearing at your local Walgreens.  If I were to call the Wags CEO, I’d say something along the lines of Dude, what the hell is wrong with your thinking?  Do you believe people won’t see the difference between new stuff at other stores and old crap from the back room? Target gets rid of its post-holiday junk with discounts gradually getting larger and larger until it’s gone.  Avail yourself of its secrets.

And one other thing:  if you don’t have the storage space now to handle all the things we couponers are begging to trade you high-value coupons for – what makes you think you can handle the further restrictions on space.  unless you plan on having tent sales?

Now on with today’s purchase attempts, since Walgreens doesn’t seem to be able to order/stock the Natrol, Celsius or Focus Omega 3 (and let’s not even mention Sinex):

The Lazy Town children’s gummy vitamins are going to be on sale starting the 9th for $5 with a $5 RR.  I had heard some rumblings that the deal might be working now – wrong!  Not only is it not working now, the damned things rang up at $8.49, even though they were all in a display advertising a $5 price.  and we’re not at Jewel, remember…  So I ran a couple of transactions to come up with the stuff in the picture:  3 Deans milks; 3 Natrol Acai (using the Wags IVC and the $2 mfr AND the BOGO this week) and 2 Celsius ($1 pdf coupon) .  Total OOP was $9.88 (!) but got back $6 in RRs from the Celsius.

The ONLY reason I stayed here once I found out they had neither Finish nor Focus was that I really needed milk.  Luckily the Dean’s milk is on sale for $1.99, so picked up the “stuff” you see here for a few bucks…actually, I used a $3.50 RR to bring down the subtotal to $2.72 then came the tax:  $1.28!  You know how I feel about IL taxes, right?  Well at least I got back $8 in RRs.

Last  summer (mostly over the 4th of July extended week-end) I really, and I mean really, stocked up on the Celsius 4-pk green tea in both flavors (well, when you consider how much they were paying me to take it out of the store, what could I do but oblige them?).  I still remember how odd it was that one flavor rang up high tax and the other low…but as long as our tax dollars are being spent wisely, I have no problem with paying them…ahahahahaha, I crack myself up sometimes…

Well, Celsius is once again on sale for $3.99 with a $3 RR.  But I just couldn’t see paying a buck plus tax…sad, isn’t it?  So I learned earlier today that there is a pdf (!!!) coupon for a buck that’ll give you the stuff for the right price:  FREE!  Now my plate will really be filled with RR deals at Wags.  Thanks to CWer JRL for the link and info.

Wags II and SuperTarget – Update the 2nd

Apparently Target changed the price in their registers and quarts are now scanning at $5.99.  Not all shelf price tags were removed, though, so some readers were able to get them for the $1.20 price.  There is some concern that they might not honor the rain checks, but I can’t see that happening.  A computer glitch is one thing, but to advertise the price in all your stores with a shelf sign?  happy sledding with that one…  Odd how Target was able to so easily change the prices when it was not in their favor and three months was not sufficient to make changes when it was…

Got so excited about my beloved Greek yogurt I forgot to put in the link to Chobani, where you can print out coupons for .30 off the 6 oz size and .50 off the 32 oz size (print 2 times for each email but not on the same computer…hint, hint). Chobani

Heard about the almost-free Greek yogurt at Target, so I jumped on my broom and did a quick drive-by (stopped first to pick up the free Omega Factor 3 at Wags).

Wags…The free after RR Omega Factor 3 held no interest for me, until I heard about the $3 coupon inside!  woot!!  Ran in, grabbed a box and paid with a Sinex RR and .18.   Tomorrow I’ll hit a few more Wags and see how much cash I can generate.  I’m going to use clearance Christmas stuff as fillers, so I’ll keep rolling those Sinex RRs – should work out beautifully.

So here’s the dealio at Targét:  the Chobani 6 oz size of Greek yogurt is $1.20, the same price as the 32 oz size – guess which one I’m stocking up on.  Quarts come in two flavors:  vanilla and strawberry.  Unfortunately, they only had the two quarts pictured here.  Fortunately, it’s a regular sale, running through the 8th, and I was able to get rain checks for each flavor.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get as many as I wanted, since the register was putting a limit of 8 (don’t ask how I arrived at that number).  Fortunately, I was able to do multiple rain checks of 8.  and i won’t tell you how many i got…let’s just say i like yogurt and leave it at that.

My advice here?  Hie on over to Target and get as many of these as you can carry.  If they are out of stock, get as many rain checks as you can – they are good until February 18th.  I might actually go back for a couple of the 6 oz ones in pomegranate,  ’cause that one sounds yummy and then pick up a few more Goodlife recipe cat food single serving trays ($1/1 1/2 rp1) which will be free.

Slow day on the deals front.  Stopped by Wags to see if there were any Sinex lurking about (found four) and run a possible deal.  Wasn’t certain, but so it is…

Picked up my four Sinex using a rain check and 6 clearanced ($2.59/each) L’oreal Bare Naturale for lips.  Used four $4 Sinex coupons and 3 $5 L’oreal coupons (1/2 rp2).  Paid $6.02 OOP and got back $15 RR.  While I could have thrown in a Christmas clearance item for filler to use another RR, decided it just wasn’t worth it for me.  Note that the L’oreal coupons say for face cosmetic; aren’t your lips on your face?  Mine are.  The $1 Planters Nu-trition coupon was from a tearpad – it has a exp. of  9/12/2011, which is long enough that a damned fine deal had better come along to use it (well, it and its brothers).

Quickly, here…picked up four of the Finish no-phosphate detergents; I’ll get more inserts during the week and pick up more.  The Oscillococcinum (3 x quickly!) that’s generating the $9 RR is the children’s version, while the $5 IVC is for the adult version.  Tried it, beeped, no thanks.

Total, including tax, is $1.49/each transaction.  Get back $1.50 RR.
