Wags and MotrinPM

By now you all are aware the Walgreens warehouse dropped the ball as far as ordering sufficient stock for this promotion.  However, in the interests of seeing how many shelves we can still clear, which stores still have any inventory, here is a link to the Walgreens product locator.  You click on availability in stores, type in a zip code and it gives you a list of the surrounding Wags and whether the MotrinPM is in stock or out.  It also gives you store addresses and phone numbers.  i see that all my NYC stores have stock! Note that it does not list the amount in inventory, so it could be one box or 100 boxes (still insufficient to me!).  Or a store could have 100 boxes in inventory, but they are being held for a customer as a special order.  My best advice is to phone each store, ask about numbers and if they have any restrictions on purchases.  If they limit deals to one or two per person, there’s no sense in driving to Buttfuck, Iowa.  No limits and 300 in stock, pack a box lunch and head out.

However, if AdvilPM counters with their own spend $2 get $2 RR, I am so ready…

Wags Purex Update

A short note to let you all know that Walgreens will no longer be carrying those Purex Complete 3 in 1 laundry sheets – apparently they were not a hit.  So I’m sitting here with a worthless rain check because the warehouse doesn’t have stock.  On the bright side, I was just talking to a “friend” this morning at breakfast about picking up coupons on eBay, so it could be worse.

Wags

If you feel that 14 or more boxes of Cream of Wheat are not sufficient, go to the cream of wheat site and you can print two of the $1 off any flavor and two of the $1 any Cinnabon flavor.

These are, obviously, a bunch of transactions thrown together.  I transferred 3 of my Motrin $3 RRs to the Baby Magic RRs because I like to keep a mix of RRs on hand.  don’t ask.  I picked up 14 boxes of the Cream of Wheat instant using the $1/1 from the 1/09 S, so only low tax on that.  The NasoGel was on sale for $4.99 get back $5.  I used a $3 peelie, so $6 MM for two (for those unable to find MotrinPM).  Puffs went with the Vapodrops deal (so that was all free).  The sweet one is the candy/Coke store coupons deal.  Here’s how it works:

First you purchase any combination of items shown in this week’s ad.  In this case I went for the cheapest product using a coupon (surprise!), or the Hershey’s drops candies at 2/$5.  Buy 6, and you’re at $15, which triggers the store coupons, but then you hand over 3 of the $2/2 from 1/30 S and you’re down to $9, so you throw in a few fillers and hand over 3 of the Motrin RRs and you’re at filler cost (about .75 if you’re using the tissues).  When you pay, out comes a strip of Wags coupons, including $2 off a 12 pk of Coke Zero and the Hershey Drops you just bought.  Since these are store coupons:  1) you can use the same Coke coupon for however many zillion 12 pks you buy and 2) you can stack the Hershey mfr $2/2 with the Wags $2/3 and end up paying $5.  Each time you buy the promo, another strip prints out and will do so through March 26.  If you know someone who has already run this deal, “borrow” the Coke Zero coupon and avoid the candy nonsense.

In this picture, I paid $16.65 for the five 12 pks of Coke Zero, less the $10 in store coupons, which left me with $6.65.  That’s still too much, so added a couple of more tissue packs and use two of the $3 RRs to get down to about $1.15 for five 12 pks.

These store coupons don’t expire until May; Coke will be going back on the 3/$10 sale in two weeks (next week is Pepsi), so one way or another, roll your Motrin RRs to Baby Magic (or another dealio) near the end of this week and then stock up on some cheap pop.

Wags and info

First the “stuff” I picked up:  six Puffs using the Buy any Vicks product from the 2/27 P&G and 17 of the Vicks Vapodrops (located in the candy section by the front registers), five Colgate toothpaste (D&Y and 2/27 S) and 140 boxes of MotrinPM…(not in picture, obviously).  OOP was $15.90.  How much cash is in my hot little hands?  $225 in RRs.  I plan to roll a significant number of them into the Baby Magic body/hair wash later on when the large shipments come in.

Steve and I tried every possible way to get the Dayquil/Nyquil $10 RR to print.  We didn’t even use Sinex!  We tried three with coupons, three without coupons, four with & without:  no combination, no matter the amount, would print that RR.  He is going to contact the buyer about this because the sale price is being promoted in this week’s sale ad and the displays all say Spend $20 get back $10 in RRs through 3/26/2011.  Big screwup.  But every time I think of that store “hogging” all the Sinex out of the warehouse (took 700), I have to laugh.  yeah, it’s mean.  hahahhahahahaha

Wags MotrinPM update

Update: check back later, as I just learned that there may be a more profitable ending to this story…

Sorry to burst the bubble, peeps, but the Wags warehouse has really dropped the ball:  they are completed out of stock and expect to have only 120 pieces come in this week.  yeah, 120 for the entire Chicagoland area.  I’ve got way more in my basement…

So, here’s what we can do about this:  Though Steve can no longer take special orders for large amounts (waving a red flag to have “sold” 3,000 when the warehouse didn’t have that much stock), people wanting smaller amounts, say 20 or so, can still go in, pay and wait for their order to come in, sometime within the next couple of weeks.  maybe use a couple of family members, friends, amenable strangers?

I have learned that many of the Chicago stores are still stocked, so a few phone calls could result in cash.  Go to the Wag’s site and see what stores you will or could visit.

Don’t forget to roll those MotrinPM RRs into the Baby Magic lotion or body/hair wash near the end of the week.  Steve is putting in a large order of these (warehouse is stocked) so there will be plenty more come Wednesday (call first to see what time).  Pay a quarter, get a very nice, concentrated body wash and roll that RR for another week’s breathing room.

This Wags still has a large number of the Colgate toothpaste (400?).  Stack the .75 (2/27S) or the $1 from Jan AY with the $1 store coupon from the Winter/Holiday D&Y (exp. 2/28).  Pay $1.25 (or $1) and get back $3 in RRs.

Wags the 1st and new info – important

NOTE: Just found out that the monthly RR deals for March does not include the Sinex.  I had read that it was scheduled to run through March 26, but obviously someone, somewhere confused a 2 and a 3.  Please, do not order the Sinex coupons, expecting the $10 RR.  Now, if you just want to buy Sinex and use the Free Puffs coupons and one $3 RR, then go for it.  $2.47 (including tax) is still dirt cheap for three Sinex and three Puffs.

Another note:  Steve is not in the store on Sunday.  Apparently there are no other stores in the area with MotrinPM (surprise!) and Wags has already gotten five calls (as of this am) from other Wags asking for stock.  The two assistant managers have been instructed to not release any large quantities until Monday, when Steve is in.  In this case, large quantity is over 20 boxes.  This was something of which I was unaware, but frankly, I’m glad this system was put in place.  The fact that no other Wags has sufficient stock to cover the demand would mean that most of my readers would get screwed.  ain’t gonna happen, peeps … Steve has slightly more than 100 bottles of the Baby Magic lotion and baby wash and will order a sizable amount for Wednesday delivery.  Again, if it doesn’t all come in before the end of the week – YOU WILL BE COVERED.

And yet another Note:  Just talked to Wags to cancel Sinex order.  They have now sold out of all MotrinPM (700 boxes) and all Baby Magic lotion and wash.  Right now they are running transactions as if the items were available (hand over coupons, pay, get RR and notice when items come in).  Please wait until Monday – when Steve is in – before hitting them up for the Baby Magic, as he has to set up the purchase plan for his staff to use (as he did for the MotrinPM).

Wanted to test out the deal, so to speak, so ran the following:  twelve MotrinPM in six transactions: OOP .66.  Took those six Motrin RRs and picked up six Baby Magic in six transactions:  OOP 1.50.  So far, I’m up 12 Motrin and 6 baby wash for $2.16 and still have my six $3 RRs from Baby Magic.

Then something got screwed up (see?  I’m honest).  I bought three of the Sinex at $7.99 each.  This is the shelf price that actually rings up and should trigger the $10 RR for spending more than $20 on Vicks.  Also bought three Puffs using the Buy Vicks get free Puffs from 2/27 P&G.  Added a pocket tissue (.25) for a filler to cover the $3 Baby Magic RR I used.  OOP was $2.47…but no $10 RR printed.  I will probably return all the above tomorrow.

If you want to order more MotrinPM coupons, go as hard and heavy as you want; my Wags should be able to cover you.  I can’t speak for other Walgreens.

Wags and Sinex – update the 2nd

Update: Mariposa reminds me that the 2/27 P&G insert also contains a FREE Puffs (up to $1.99) when you buy any 1 Vicks product.   So we’re talking about 4 Sinex and 4 Puffs for each transaction.  Hell, yeah, I’ll wait until the 13th to make certain it all comes in.

I know some of you are probably wondering if the Goddess has lost her touch:  Goddess, Sinex will be $5.49 using the in-ad Wags coupon on the 27th, the same week as our wonderful MotrinPM.  Well, yes, but two things are wrong with using it then:  1) the ad says “limit 3” which is usually just a laugh, unless you are dealing with an unfriendly-to-couponers Wags but more importantly 2) there is no stock on this stuff! If any of you have seen more than one or two boxes, let me know ’cause I sure haven’t.  My Wags called the warehouse trying to locate an amount suitable for our purposes; bad news is that one store took a huge amount, but good news is that Sinex is coming in on a regular basis.  So hold tight and we’ll get tons more.  besides, the coupons aren’t readily available just yet…

If you like the Purex Complete 3 in 1 sheets that are BOGO this week you could get rain checks for a sizable amount, order $3 coupons and pick them up using the $3 Motrin RRs to pay for them.  Adding 2 fillers would still leave you OOP only about .50.  although i don’t honestly believe anyone should be forced to do this much laundry…

I decided to start a new post to cover the pour-through deal on Sinex (MotrinPM to Sinex); it certainly deserves its own thread!

Just spoke with the Steve (hi, Steve) the Wags store manager and learned a couple of new things:  1) the Sinex sale price has now dropped .50 to $5.49 (almost zero OOP) and the sale has been pushed back one week to March 13th.  While this will in no way prevent us from making serious cash, the timing will have to be carefully worked out.  Not to worry, ’cause everything is being arranged even as I post.  And honestly?  it gives us more time to get those coupons…

I will have a further update tomorrow (morning?) with greater detail.  Remember extreme  couponers:  In unity there is strength!

Wags and MMM – 3nd update

I checked this afternoon and the stock has come in (it’s a beautiful thing).  I have a strong feeling that we will be one of the few Wags in the entire Chicagoland area to have sufficient stock.  just sayin’

Update: I’ve just ordered 50 more coupons from Dede (right sidebar) who has several thousand still in stock.  Cost was .35/each plus $1.11 shipping.  Each purchase earns you points, which can be redeemed for future coupon purchases.

Wags has now upped their MotrinPM order to 600.  Please let me know via comment or email the Goddess tab if you are going to require a sizable amount of product.   The Sinex order for the following week has also been increased.  That deal will involve the four Sinex coupons from 2/27 P&G, two fillers (I like the pocket tissue) and two of the $3 Motrin RRs.  Pay $2.46 and tax and get back $10.  Works for me…

Stopped by Wags to check on using the $6/2 coupon with the Motrin MM deal starting the 27th.  While there they unloaded the truck and most of my stuff was in!  So here it is…  sorry the picture is so dark.

The good news on the M(otrin)MM front is that the actual scan of the Motrin product (from the Wags order sheet) shows the Motrin PM: the product is the same as before, so maybe they’re pushing the fact that it’s ibuprofen; you know, Nyquil Sinus becomes Nyquil Sinex…wait, that was a great decision on their part.  Let’s file this one under the who knows/who cares section of marketing.  As long as it makes us money…

So my Wags is putting in a huge order with the warehouse, well in advance of the sale.  If the warehouse runs out, we’ll still be covered.  As a matter of fact, if any of you have ordered or plan to order coupons and will be buying from the Wheaton Wags, please comment and let me know and I’ll have Steve bump up the quantity.   Their numbers are pretty much incredible and we can only make them more so.  This Wags takes us seriously.  Oh, and Steve is still single

Another bragging point:  this Wags sold a ton of Skippy last week – and not all to me! – so congratulations to all of you who made the trip out there.  You’re pretty smart readers…and i don’t care what anyone else says...

Wags and Purex – Update

Works beautifully.  Total was $1.17, but there was $1.99 in high tax!!  If your Wags does not sufficient stock to run this, wait a couple of days.  My wags put in an order for 30 boxes, but no guarantee they’ll come in.

Wasn’t going to post this because I honestly didn’t think a buck a pack was a good deal for the BOGO Purex 3-in-1 sheets (20 ct); spoiled, I know.  However, my dealio mind started grinding and realized that if you buy in multiples of 6 (3 pay, 3 free) and throw in the cheap seeds as a filler for .20, you can run it this way:  $7.99 x 3 + .20 = $24.17.  Subtract 6 of the $3 coupons ($18) from the 2/20 rp and the $5 RR from Garnier and you’re at $1.17 plus tax for all six, a much better price to me.
