Combined shopping today – $10.78

I’m lazy, I’ll admit it.  So all the running around is combined into 1 photo,  broken down as follows:

Wags:  nada on the Pantene and Gain dish soap at two stores.  Mind you, I’ve been holding onto the Gain rain check for weeks now; coupon expires today.  Ended up taking 5 more cans of the almonds for a $3.90 subtotal, used a $2 Pantene RR, so $1.90 for 5 cans.  Off to …

Walmart for the 10 bottles of Gain for tax of .40.  Next is…

Quick stop to health club for food (did you really think I was gonna say exercise?  Nah – monthly member appreciation day means tons of great food all day long.  Lunch over, back to work…

Dominicks..Mostly crap in the clearance meat section, but had a freezer case full of clearanced Johnsonville brats in a variety of types (this is the DG store on Ogden).  There is a $1/2 coupon in 5/02 S which brings them down to $1.49 each.  Since today was National Enforce One Cat Per Transaction Day (and here I forgot to wear the t-shirt), I divided the orders into 3,and used their store coupons from the Renuzit crystals.  Eggs were free, from the new U savings program.  Chicken drumsticks were 1.29/lb, which was OK since it’s something everyone in the house eats without complaining.  Total OOP was 8.48…final stop

CVS for – nothing at all!  Thought I’d try for the golden toothbrush, but alas, although this store actually had one on the shelf when the sale started, but they sold it.  sigh   Between CVS and Wags lately, I’m experiencing life in the Soviet Union.  Total spent …. hahahahahaha, although I did get another rain check.

Wags ad this week

What looked like a pretty decent week turned out – not to be.  The deals I was looking at were the Trident gum single packs:  buy in multiples of 3 and 2 (example 6, 12, 18) and use the $1/3 from 9/12 SS, then the Wags September booklet’s $1/2 and then the in-ad coupon for .79 (in that order).  Although that coupon says limit 3, the register doesn’t give a shit and let’s hope it’s the same with your cashier.  In other words, ymmv.  This gives you a small MM, so make sure to have something to eat up the overage.  Then I was going to pick up the Gain dish soap .89 using the in-ad coupon and pair it up with the $1 from the September P&G insert.  Again, small MM.  Naturally, my store had neither; the store looked like a Soviet Union Wags – bare shelves (or was that bear [for Russia, get it? sometimes I slay myself]).  I was hoping to get all this and then use the extra 15% discount with my library card for greater overage.

Well, I got rainchecks on the Gain, so we’ll see later this week what comes in.  I’m holding rainchecks for 26 Garnier hair colors so I’ll use the overage to bring down the hair color even more.

Don’t forget, if you get grief at your Wags about the overage on Gain, you can always head on over to Wal-mart, Dollar General or Family Dollar, where it’s always a buck or less.

Too much clean! OOP $1.88

This is more or less just a fun shot.  I picked up 23 of the single load Tide packets and 1 more Gain dish washing liquid.   Tide was from Target, Gain from Wal Mart.  (I’d planned on getting the free Shout wipes at Wal Mart, but I couldn’t find them at my store; wouldn’t have made a trip for one bottle of soap!)   The Purex 3-in-1 from Ultra was a much better laundry deal, but these are good to take with you when/if you travel.  So, yes, I pick them up whenever I think to clip the coupons.  The $1 Tide coupons usually appear in every monthly P&G insert, with a couple of days overlap between the expiration dates.  So these coupons reflect both the August and September inserts.

Wal Mart in 5 minutes and 32 cents

OK, how many of you have dishwashers?  How many believe that if you have an automatic dishwasher you never have to wash dishes by hand?  No, no, no, men, leave the room.  Now that we’re back on the Planes of Reality, let’s talk free…

I read on CW that Wal Mart carries Gain dishwashing liquid for $.97 AND since there is a $1 coupon in today’s P&G insert, what do we get (other than dishpan hands)?  Keeerecto, go to the head of the class.  I picked up the 8 bottles here for .32.  Don’t worry, I’ll pick up more when I get additional inserts.  It’s tough being a domestic diva.

As an aside, there were signs at the door announcing that Wal Mart is now open until midnight.  That is just so sad on so many levels…
