I’ll admit that I’m not a huge country fan – OK, can’t stand the stuff, so I was surprised that I even clicked on this YouTube video. Joey + Rory are wonderful! Fast, clever lyrics and entertaining. Watch it and see if you agree.

Groupon
[ad#cj-1] today is for 1/2 price drinks at Hala Kahiki in River Grove (near Triton College). This place has been here for, like, a bazillion years, never-changing and tacky as hell. When the cold and snow eventually comes (global warming notwithstanding), roll into high temps and your choice from over 100 large umbrella drinks.
I would drive by this place all the time, and for the life of me, couldn’t remember the name; it was always Kalooki looki in my brainbox and everyone else knew what I was talking about. Had this just started happening, I’d be real worried about my memory going…
And speaking of Unilever…
Just got an email from Lipton (a Unilever product), asking me to subscribe to their Tea & Health Club newsletter. It’s free and I hope it gives me high value coupons. A girl can dream, can’t she? Anyway, click here and register. Youse gots nothing to lose…
Auntie Anne’s Pretzel update
JUST got two emails from Buyzooka with the info on the free food (is good). The voucher for the Freebie pretzel is being mailed (make certain your account has all the correct info) and the BOGO pretzel is the email verification.
While I like cinnamon/sugar, I like cheap/free even more. My recommendation would be to hold off on anything until that voucher shows up in the mail. The BOGO expiration date is 11/24/10, so plenty of time… and oh, god, did I really have to post that picture again?! now i’m drooling…time to hit the the poppycock…damn
Miss me?
Spent the entire morning in an extremely useful breakfast meeting at Panera. Great breakfast sandwiches, don’t you know! Since time is running out on the coupons expiring 9/30, figured I better move on them….so, here are a couple of deals thrown into the same picture. The Frank’s hot sauce was from a Family Dollar store ($1 coupon and $1 hot sauce = .12 tax), the John Frieda root awakening was free at Ulta (like Frieda on Facebook and they send you an email coupon for shampoo or conditioner. Note: says one per customer but give you a pdf file…..hmmm, what to do…let’s just say, your mileage may vary), the Maxwell House was .79/each from Meijer (see prior posts for coupon match-ups) and
DRUM ROLL PLEASE………….
40 more 8 packs of Aquapods from the Downers Grove Ultra. For these I spent $5.80 and got back $30 in catalinas – oh, and I almost forgot: water.
The clock is ticking down on the giveaway!

CNN – Living a year on Groupon coupons
My husband thinks this story is cool and I should post it. Honestly, it might be a goof thing to experience, but it’s not really couponing as we all know and love. If you want to see someone who is even crazier than I am (remember the beverage basement?) then check it out here.
Cantigny Park
Sorry for so few posts today; spent the day with family and friends at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. We used a pass from our library to get in for free. Most local libraries are part of the Macy’s Museum Adventure Pass program which provides passes for 19 museums and cultural exhibits throughout Chicagoland. It’s a great program and a great way to save some bucks: Brookfield Zoo, Chicago Botanic Garden and Morton Arboretum are just some of the attractions. Check out the program and check out some passes for a last fling before school begins. We toured the house/museum, the war museum and tank exhibits and spent hours walking the grounds after a picnic lunch (free Sobe, Gold Peak tea, Target bread and Dominick’s clearance OM turkey breast) under some large shade trees. Boy, this is the way to live, right?
