Wags deals 10/03- 10/09

One of the coupons in the 10/03 SS will be a $4/1 Schick Hydro razor, which dovetails nicely with both the sale and $4 RR starting Sunday.  Both equals FREE razors.  (The CVS sale works out to be the same, except 1) you’re limited to one per card and 2) it’s crappy ecbs, not RRs which you can blow at Jewel or Dominicks – wait, you did know that RRs are a form of catalinas and thus, can be spent at those two grocery stores, right?)  The 10/03 RP has a Nivea lip product coupon (either $1/1, $2/2 or both) which ties in with a $1 Nivea lip shine or balm stick sale.  The Nivea lip products are actually very nice; when my daughter gave them to her teachers as a component of last Christmas’ “Depression Care Package,” quite a few wanted to know where we’d bought them because they were so effective.

Not too bad a selection of freebies.  Make sure to head over to Dollar Tree or another of the dollar stores where you can find Sunday Tribs for a buck starting Saturday afternoons, if you either don’t get a subscription or require additional inserts.  Please make sure to completely check each sealed plastic insert package to make certain all inserts are present.  Pay and then step aside while you check.  Once you leave the store, you’re stuck.  Unfortunately, there are enough coupon thieves out there to make your life miserable, and after all, isn’t that what marriage is for?

Today’s Buyzooka

This one is pretty good if you are the sort of person who likes having the crap scared out of you – and don’t have kids.  A  BOGO to Brookfield Zoo’s Creatures of the Night, good through (obviously) October 31, 2010.

Mambo Sprouts

There’s a nice coupon booklet put out by Mambo Sprouts Marketing, with high value coupons on natural and organic food products. Just received the latest booklet and on the front it says “Final Printed Edition.” Which means those of you interested in some good coupons will need to go on line to mambosprouts.com to register for a free subscription. A sample of the coupons: $1/1 16 oz POM juice; .50/1 CLIF C Fruit & Nut Bars; $1/1 MaraNatha nut butter and $1/2 Westsoy products. Expiration dates 11/30.  Lots more coupons, along with recipes and information.

Teaser Fulfilled! UPDATE – Sale Extended THRU 10/1

Restaurant.com Weekly Promo Offer 468 x 60
Even though I have lots stored in my account, a few more never hurt.  Especially for this kind of non-money.  I don’t recall a 90% offer yet this year (although I could be having senior moments already) so I’d grab while you can.  Do like I plan to do:  hold them as gift certificates.  The only downside to this is that if you want a particular restaurant on a particular date, that restaurant may have already printed out whatever quota they’ve allotted to restaurant.com.  So, no dice for that date or month.  Another day, bingo!  So jump right in and get your holiday parties/gifts for cheap.  Unfortunately, my mom reads this, so can’t give one to her.  Hi mom!

Note: At some point in the day, the link to Restaurant.com disappeared. It was there earlier today, I swear! I’ve now switched to a banner, and everything appears to be functioning properly.

JUST got an email that this promo has been extended through tomorrow 10/1. Don’t miss out on this deal.

Teaser

Tomorrow morning I will have a fantastic deal posted here.  I am prohibited from mentioning the deal or the company, but it will be great!  Check back with your credit/debit cards or paypal handy.  this ends the teaser message…and i return you to your regular blog.  And yes, that is a picture of me, thank you for asking!

CVS today

It’s a sad commentary on our throw-away society that it’s cheaper for me to buy a new electric toothbrush than it is to buy replacement heads; but then, that’s what extreme couponing is all about!  Oral B Vitality at CVS is priced at $23; use the $10 coupon in the October P&G (the new pink insert) and your cost is $13 – HOWEVER, there is a $13 ecb attached to this, so, in effect, it’s free.  Use your current stash of ecb’s and it’s a wash. We currently use Oral B and like it heaps (sponsor, place your logo here).

Unfortunately, the CVS on 63rd and Main in DG never got their shipment in from the warehouse, so it’s possible this is the case for all the stores in the same district.  Good news is that I got 2 rainchecks for 2 each (limit in ad) and CVS rainchecks never expire.  The coupon exp. date is the end of October.

FREE eggs! DEAL IS NOW DEAD!

Definitely a snooze you lose situation here, folks.  It was only up for a couple of hours and then *bamm* you pledged and got squat.

Saw on a couple of sites about this promotion from the Good Egg Project for BOGO egg coupons – no specified brand.  woot!!  Only personal info they want is name and email. This coupon can be printed out 3 times, just hit back.  Each coupon will have a unique number.

Restaurant.com – what, again?

Save 80% off Restaurant.com $25 Gift Certificates! Use code FALL at checkout through 9/30/10.Yes, they are really pushing these deals and it’s not even holiday season yet!  But, let’s not complain, folks, ’cause these are true bargains in dining out.  I have personally purchased not only the individual restaurant certificates, but have a bank of gift certificates and the dinner of the month club.  All for bubkes!  It’s really a no-lose situation, since you are protected from any restaurant closing (restaurant.com emails you the info and then offers to either exchange for another restaurant of your choice or leaves it in a gift certificate form in your account – and yes, it’s happened to me).  Oh, and another thing:  these certificates never expire.  Not comfortable making changes on-line?  Call their customer service people.  I actually called customer service to exchange one restaurant for one I liked better.  Easy-peasy.  Can you tell I like this company?  We’ve never had a problem using one of these certificates in any restaurant, so order with confidence.

Miss me?

Spent the entire morning in an extremely useful breakfast meeting at Panera.  Great breakfast sandwiches, don’t you know!  Since time is running out on the coupons expiring 9/30, figured I better move on them….so, here are a couple of deals thrown into the same picture.   The Frank’s hot sauce was from a Family Dollar store ($1 coupon and $1 hot sauce = .12 tax), the John Frieda root awakening was free at Ulta (like Frieda on Facebook and they send you an email coupon for shampoo or conditioner.  Note: says one per customer but give you a pdf file…..hmmm, what to do…let’s just say, your mileage may vary), the Maxwell House was .79/each from Meijer (see prior posts for coupon match-ups) and

DRUM ROLL PLEASE………….40 more 8 packs of Aquapods from the Downers Grove Ultra.  For these I spent $5.80 and got back $30 in catalinas – oh, and I almost forgot:  water.
