Jewel quick run

Had to make sure “my” Jewel had enough of the free Swiss Miss, so did a quick run – picked up a few items…OK, so I ran four transactions.  Boom, boom, boom, as follows:  3 runs of 10 Swiss Miss – so 30 boxes (no coupons); 12 cans of Wolf Chili (.75/2 1/23 s), 2 Garden Delight pasta and 3 Sobe (free coupons for all).  Kept exchanging the $10 Neuragens with 2/13 exp dates for the Con Agra cats with 2/24.  Also felt a couple of the Kraft food & family coupon booklets fall into my purse.  Not such good coupon values, but the expiration dates are 12/31/2011.

Total OOP was $1.74.  Just think of how much better I’d do in a state with no food tax (and palm trees out my windows)…

The Jewel on Rte 53 in Lisle has, at present, 15 cases of Swiss Miss and can get more in quickly, so if you’re not finding it by you, please stop in and stock up.  They’ve also got lots of the Wolf Chili.  The chili without beans actually has a higher ring price, but since my family would be horrified at the thought of it, the regular had to do…

Toilet paper for a year?

In keeping with my “enter any and everything” plan, here’s a link to a 90-day contest from Cottonelle:  register and then every day you can enter and win prizes (have them send you daily reminders).  The grand prize is one full year’s worth of tp.  Now, we’re actually pretty set on tp right now, what with the eight cases of Angel Soft from the Jewel cat deal last October – but there’s always next year to worry about!

More freebies

In just a couple of minutes, log onto to Dr. Oz and register to win one of many prizes, not going to list, but just GO!

P&G on Facebook

This has been posted on numerous sites, but I’ll throw it out anyway:  at some point today (heard 11 am cst), P&G will be giving away “something” if you like them on FB.  One site posted that it is a booklet of high-value coupons.  Now P&G claims that “Is it a coupon? NO! Is it a sample? NO! Is it worth over $100.00? YES! YES! YES!” so a book of coupons would be different from a single product coupon, right?

So click here and “like” them, then sit around waiting like the rest of the the world (insert sarcasm here).  This picture has nothing to do with the promo, I just like it.

Another $25 Visa Freebie

Well, I did debate about posting this, but since I saw it on a few sites and I’ve personally done this…why not?  The “official” name is the 2011 Kia Optima Test-Drive.  Last year it was another car, same bucks.  If they want to pay me for walking into a dealership, I’m on it like lint on a cheap suit.

If you have no intention of buying a car in the near future, be nice and tell the salespeople up front so they doesn’t waste their time…alternatively, you could use my fail-safe method:  sprinkle a few drops of beer on your clothes and use a bit as mouthwash.  Guarantee you will not be handed those keys…

Panda Express freebie

PITA and I (yeah snow day) picked up our free lunch today, courtesy of Panda Express.  I’ll admit that I haven’t eaten at this chain in about 15 or so years, just about the time they were entering the Chicago market…there was so much orange grease on my plate I walked out and never returned.  Obviously with a memory like that, it would just about take a free meal to get me to return.  Here’s a picture of the little boxes that the Firecracker Chicken came in.  I put the tissue in for size comparison, ’cause these boxes are really tiny. And hot!!  Don’t get me wrong, I adore hot food and heavily spice up my cooking with peppers, but this stuff is crazy hot!  How hot you might ask?  So hot that they probably had to get clearance from the Wheaton Fire Department before putting it on the menu; so hot that they keep fire extinguishers in the bathroom; so hot…well, you get the drift.

Actual price of this single entree is $3.  Would I go back?  Depends… It’s not a giant container, and adding rice is another two bucks.  Taking it home (with your own rice) would be one alternative, but then you still have only enough for one person, when any self-respecting Chinese restaurant container would be about 2 1/2 to 3 times more.  My advice is that if people in your group want to eat there, go along, but don’t make it your first choice.

You can try your luck at either of two places:  the Coffeemate site itself or their FB page.

Free Chinese!

or was that Free Tibet…i get confused sometimes.

Click here to print out a coupon for a single serving of Firecracker Chicken Breast from Panda Express.  Limit one coupon per person.  Tomorrow, February 3, 2011 only.  This coupon is on the corporate website, so I don’t see why you couldn’t print out like a zillion of them.  I mean, unless you suffer from ethics or something…

Free Pasta?

Mueller’s Pasta is on sale for .89 at the Sunday-Saturday Meijers in Michigan, both regular and whole grain.  While this should transfer to our area stores this Thursday, there’s no guarantee.  (There is a Thursday-Sunday ad which, oddly enough, is the same for both states, but it doesn’t show up there.)  It does go on sale often enough that it makes sense to click here to register at Mueller and download a $1/1 coupon – a pdf with a March 3, 2011 expiration date ~ enjoy!  If you’ve registered with them in the past, you won’t be able to download any coupons, so use another email.

I’ve got to start making more meals incorporating pasta – there’s bound to be more out there than just spaghetti and meatballs!  thanks to meijermadness, which started me on all this hunting around

Free Chocolate?

Remember how I tell you to always subscribe?  hmmm?  Well, I certainly remember telling you to sign up with Mambo Sprouts ’cause they have some great coupons for natural/organic “stuff.”  They have a link on their site for a chocolate giveaway (naturally, since it’s for Valentine’s Day).  Click here and enter.
