stopped at the Dollar Tree on Park & Roosevelt in Glen Ellyn for some holiday grilling buns and saw this interesting toothpaste on the shelf. I have so much of the stuff I’m taking boxes to the COD food pantry, but if you’re interested, it’s much pricier on Amazon )

Decided to pick up some Bubbl’r with the freebie coupon from May – there was a tearpad on the shelf with one coupon – score! The Pacific Foods aseptically packaged soups are a great deal at $1.17 a box; had them in the past and mighty tasty. Make sure to check dates ’cause I pulled out a bunch that expired last month; I kindly brought them up to the service desk. The rest were as far out as mid-2023.

Woot has a refurbished Arctic King 1.1 Cu ft Compact Upright Freezer for $57.99. It’s small, yeah, but if you don’t have the space to open from the top, it makes a great extra freezer space when you won’t use a larger appliance. Also a lot easier to move! You get a 90-day Woot warranty and the extended one (through Amazon Asurion) is really, really cheap for a few years.

National Cinema Day – $3 tkts

According to an article in the Washington Post, “moviegoers across the country will have the chance to see a film for $3 at their local theater next weekend in an inaugural event dubbed “National Cinema Day” as the industry attempts to climb back to its pre-pandemic success.

No matter the time of day or the film format, on Sept. 3 people will pay just $3 (not including taxes or fees) to see a movie on the silver screen. That is according to an announcement Sunday from the Cinema Foundation, a nonprofit arm of the National Association of Theatre Owners.”

I checked and there are a TON of theaters around here included – actually most of the 41,000 screens in the US are participating.
