Colgate mouthwash price match at Walmart

20130912_113716Obviously this is not my photo, but from one of you dear readers who took my price-matching at Walmart advice and picked up 120 bottles at one store!  Frankly, I’m amazed that they that many of the smaller size!  Email said that the first manager said we can’t… but asked the second, who said we can’t…but asked the third, who said we can’t…until the one manager said yes!  They did limit it to four like coupons per transaction and only the two “flavors” shown in the Ultra ad – then ran many, many transactions.  Email said that the overage paid for most of the high tax.

price match Ultra’s Colgate mouthwash @ Walmart

UntitledYeah, I know that Ultra has the Colgate Total 8.4 oz mouthwash on sale for $1.88 starting tomorrow, but you have to buy four to get that price.  For most of us, four isn’t a problem!  I checked online at Walmart to see how many of the nearest stores carry this size bottle (let’s face it, Walmart usually pushes those industrial-size ones) and found the spearmint and peppermint varieties at most locations.

Ultra requires you to buy four products to get that $1.88 price (Walmart’s policy is to match the lowest price, not require a set number of items to be purchased), but doesn’t put a limit on how many you can purchase!  Ultra does have a twelve like coupon limit, whereas Walmart has no coupon limits at all.  And their policy is to give you back the overage!  Win, win, win!

Check out the coupons on the data base tab for any other items you might want – Palmolive is 98¢ when you buy four products and there’s a few 50¢ coupons for both the dish soap and 88¢ Speedstick deodorant that expired in August (Ultra policy is to take 30 day expired coupons).  So if you want something that uses an expired coupon, head to Ultra.  Otherwise, it’s Walmart.  And since I seem to have accumulated quite a bit of Dawn premium dish soap over the past few days…

PSA: PB&J and chicken

Ugh, though not together!  PITA and I are out the door to grab some last minute PB&J at Ultra (unfortunately our Walmart doesn’t carry Planters PB).  While we’re out check out the Grotty Groupons, the $10 Mystery Box (ooohhhh!) and the Sephora gift card.  Heck, why not drool over the China for 2 for $999 deal, which includes air!, while you’re at it!

This is a friendly reminder that today is the last day to get the 88¢ Planters peanut butter and Welch’s grape jelly/jam at Ultra (or to price match at a Walmart large enough to carry them) – or 38¢ each after the $1/2 coupons.

Limited numbers (if found at all) of the new Jewel Big Book – figures since it starts today…not real confident in the new owners…  If you find the old booklet (ask at customer service desk) you’ll still be able to use the $3 rotisserie chicken coupon until Saturday and Dominicks will once again have the chicken as their Friday $5 special (which can be extended on your card through Saturday’s coupon expiration date).  If you’re gonna be at Dominicks anyway, print and take these $0.55 off any Reser’s Deli Salad for some 44¢ salad.  Right now I’m on my second chicken in the stockpot – the first one got pulled out and all the meat removed (easily!).  I kept the same stock and dumped in a second chicken.  Kinda like a stockpot conveyer line; just think of how incredible that stock will taste by the time I finish!

Walmart for deodorant & Chinese!

photo.JPG
Hit up the Glen Ellyn Walmart, where I price matched the $1 Sure deodorant from the Food4Less ad and used a couple of BOGO Tai Pei coupons to get some free entrees. These sell at Walmart for $2.28, so my OOP for four and the high tax on deodorant came to $5.30. Which is a decent price for Chinese, right? I’ll make up a batch of rice in my wonderful rice cooker and that’s dinner!

$1.50 off (2) KRAFT or CRACKER BARREL Cheese
Print out the BOGO coupons under zip code 30303 (hello, Atlanta!).  Here’s the info on how to change your zip (I’d recommend printing out the two Kraft cheese coupons – slices & chunks – as well).

To change zip codes once you’re on the coupons.com site, click the “LOCAL” tab on top.  You’ll see your current zip code next to the categories button near the top left.  Click and put in 06607 (for MorningStar Farms) and/or 30303 (for BOGO Tai Pei), then click the coupons tab.  Voila!  Welcome to Bridgeport, CT!

As I’ve mentioned, the Glen Ellyn Walmart on Rte 53 is in the process of converting to a Super Center; this involves replacing the old garden center section and expanding into the parking lot.  There are so many free deals that I don’t post because I’m not able to actually run them to prove they work!  With the Super Center, I’ll have access to deals like the 88¢ Planter’s peanut butter and Welch’s grape jam from Ultra, since both items are mostly carried only in the Super Centers.  And Walmart doesn’t have those Buy XX to get the deals – you pay the bottom line (or not pay as the case may be!).  The Goddess predicts lots of free dog and cat food in our future.

Good price for Quaker oatmeal…

photo.JPGI really don’t like paying for groceries, but since I’m still rebuilding my stockpile, there are going to be times when the bullet gets bitten.  Ultra has these Quaker Real Medleys on sale for 78¢ each when you buy six.  Since Walmart will price match without quantity requirements, they should always be your first choice if you just don’t want or need 10 jars of Nutella (although why you wouldn’t want 10 jars of Nutella is beyond my ken).

So you price match the oatmeal to get the price from $1.99 down to 78¢, and use the $1/2 coupon from the 8/18 rp.  Then you use anything you can to get overage.  I had only a few of the BIC disposable razor $3 coupons and my Walmart is on the high-end of the pricing scale, but I was still able to get 20 cartons of oatmeal and 10 packs of razors for $4.86 – with the price match and coupon alone my cost would have been about $5.70.  ‘nuf said…
