Walmart & Walgreens

Was able to score a few more Clairol $5/2 coupons, so trotted over to Walmart for a price match. No sense driving around to different CVS stores, hoping to find stock, right? So now the HE shampoo and conditioner stockpile has recovered and all will be fine, the good lord willin’ and the crick don’t rise…again.

If your first thought upon seeing this picture is “who would buy so much kinesiology tape?” then you’re obviously new to this site!  PITA has scoliosis and the medical professionals, operating under the “If you only have a hammer, everything looks like a nail” premise, have advised surgery and a back brace for a few years now.

Fie! says the Goddess!  And fie again!  About a year ago we (read: mother) started taking PITA to the chiropractic college in Lombard for originally twice a week, but now once a week sessions of physical therapy, stretching and taping.  The difference has been huge:  She stands tall and doesn’t slouch.  So each week they tape her front and back to let her feel when she starts to slouch.  It doesn’t stop her from slouching, mind you, but if you feel a slight pull, then you’re not standing correctly.

We’ve purchased the original kinesoilogy tape, knock-offs, vivid colors – you name it.  If the tape holds for two days (of long showers and baths) it’s considered a success.  Imagine my shock when this tape stays on day after day after day.  It’s still intact and it’s Saturday evening – it was applied Monday afternoon.  So yes, not only will I stock up because it works, but it works and it’s free.  And I got another TON of those $5/$20 store cats for Sunday and Monday.  There must be something I can buy!

price-matching is easy-peasy at Walmart

20130709_122924Submitted for your viewing pleasure by a reader. Smart person, ’cause even though the official Walmart policy says you don’t have to bring in the ad you are price-matching…it’s always a good idea to be prepared.  If you don’t have the paper copy, go online and print it out.

worked out to be 164 bottles for $36 and change in high tax, in case you were wondering

Free shampoo at CVS and Walmart!

Sunday’s P&G insert had a $5/2 coupon for any Clairol product. The picture shows hair colors, but remember, wording always trumps pictures, mainly because it’s just not possible to list every possible product on a coupon (can you even imagine the teeeeensy print?).

Anyway, CVS has Clairol shampoos and conditioners at $5/2 this week, which means FREE shampoo and conditioner.  Clairol posted the following on their Facebook site in response to Can I or Can’t I coupon questions:  Clairol Yes, since this was our mistake of not having “hair color” called out, we will honor the redemptions.

You can also take the CVS ad to Walmart and have them price match, if it’s more convenient and/or your CVS is wiped out.

free crackers at Walmart

free-lance-crackers-mHere’s an oddity I ran into last week but forgot to post: Get a free 8-pack of Lance snack crackers at Walmart with this coupon.  Since Walmart’s coupon policy prohibits internet coupons for FREE products and this offer is on Walmart’s own site, there is a bizarro conflict, right? Anyway, I can’t print and try this because it’s a Smart Source coupons and Java and I have had “issues” for months now.

price-matching at Walmart – again

photo.JPGSometimes it’s easier to drive a short way to Walmart rather than do the road trip to Food4Less.   I bring sale ads for the store I’m price-matching (when I remember!), even though the official policy says it’s not required.  Better safe…

I was actually looking for smaller size bottles of Head & Shoulders on which to use that high-value $5/2 coupon from the 6/16 paper.   Since my Walmart is a small one, there are lots of things they don’t carry.  Clip and bring the coupons with you – Dollar General also carries this line and people have been finding the large bottles scanning at $2.50!

If you hit up Walmart tonight or tomorrow (Food4Less sales end on Tuesday), look for the bonus pack of Schick Xtreme3 Hawaiian Tropic women’s razors – you get 8 razors for the 4-pk price, then use the $3 Xtreme3 coupon plus any other overage in your order.  My OOP here was $1.15

MM razors at Food4Less (pm Walmart)

photo.JPGYou can either hit up your local Food4Less (the low-price arm of Kroger) or price match at Walmart and/or Target. Frankly, I’d go the WM option if you don’t wanna drive to F4L because Targes makes you go to customer services where you perform a coupon dance and then jump through a flaming hoop before they’ll remember how to price match. ..

I price-matched the four Schick Hydro 5 disposables and used the $4 coupons from 6/9 for overage and/or use the IP below.  Since PITA was with me I was able to buy four (ad limit is 2).  If you have the Almay $4 coupons from 6/2 S, pick up more $1.14 jars of makeup remover for even more overage.  I used my overage on this crazy-high dog food…of course I also had $4 coupons for each bag.  I mean, I’m not crazy, ya know?

3 Lipton for the price of 1

The one thing Walmart consistently gets right is price matching; there’s never been the slightest difficulty. It doesn’t hurt that I always bring in either the print ad or print out the online ad though WM says it’s not required – don’t wanna be teaching them their own policy, you know?

So here are three boxes of 100 ct Lipton tea bags which were PMed using the Food4Less ad (with $1.48 prices). After three .40 coupons, I walked out paying $3.32 – less than the price of one with tax…

Food4Less – PM at Walmart

I’ve gone through the newest Food4Less ad over and over and frankly, it’s just not worth the gas – much better to price match at Walmart, especially since they don’t require the Buy 10 or 4 or whatever to get the discounted price:  You pay the bottom line price.  The best part about buying at Walmart, though, is that they normally have a much wider variety.

What looks interesting?  I think Skippy peanut butter (original ones are pictured) for $1.48 could work, since we’re coming into Summer drive time and PB&J keeps so well.

Or the Lipton tea bags, 100 ct box for $1.48.  Use the 40¢ coupon from 5/19 R and pay $1.08.  You’ll be making lots of sun tea, so why not stock up at a penny a bag?

Papa Charlie’s Italian beef is $11.98 (ouch!) – use the $1.50 coupon in 3/24S for a tiny bit of relief.

Chef Boyardee microwave cups and canned pasta (think Beefaroni) is 10/$10, so use the .50/4 for some pennies off.

Febreze Air Effects is $1.78, so use the $1.50 from 5/19 R for very cheap stinkies.  The Febreze Set & Refresh is also $1.78, with a 75¢ coupon in the 5/12 P&G.

Trident gum is 78¢ and with the $1/3 from 5/19 S1, it’ll be still too much spend on a bad habit.  but i do…

Feel free to check through the new ad and comment on what I’ve missed.  This ad is from the Bolingbrook store.
