Clearance cart was out, but nothing appealed, then Pita saw this short-dated brie with $2 peelies. Negotiated 50% markdown, which meant $5.50 per 16 oz wheel. Yeah, it’s a lot of cheese, but we’ll eat quite a bit and the rest will freeze well.
One Saturday Sampler this week: Violife vegan cheese. Add to your U™ account by Sunday and redeem by Monday. This makes three freebies I’ve gotten over the past couple of days – some of you have gotten different items, while others got zip (Pita never got a one). Odd because I don’t buy energy bars and prefer DT kettle chips.
Was just telling Pita about the freebie, she checked and nothing, so I went back on my account and now I have the CORE Bar as well as the chips! Of course, one or the other will probably disappear before redemption …

Email says “We’d like to thank you for being a Jewel-Osco for U™ member. Here’s a FREE item you can add to your account today!” This is a little snack-size bag, so don’t rush over, thinking you hit the lottery or something 🙂 Check your U™ account in case you got the freebie but not the email.
One Saturday Sampler today, a bottle of Proud Source water. Add to your U™ account before Sunday and redeem by Monday. Qualifying products include a smaller size with oxygen. lord love a duck
Don’t forget the free Honey Stinger Organic Energy Waffle pouch added the other day; various varieties.

Carts and carts and carts of coffee and tea today at Lisle Jewel, all marked down 75%. Clearance cart also had cosmetics, roasted peppers in oil (from Italy) and more. Pita and I had only stopped in for El Milagro tortillas, and since they only seem to carry Signature and Mission, it was a hard pass. Walked back to the front, where the cart had been moved to the customer service area. Total was about $160, which included $10 for four pounds of blueberries and a full price bottle of blueberry wine Pita wanted to try.
Interesting deal on a dozen roses – only $5! I’d gift myself, but self-love lasts longer than roses.
Starbucks coffee price isn’t included, since it’s a MUM purchase 🙂
This was on our way to someplace else, but worth checking for clearance coffee and tea, right? The Naperville Jewel on Ogden & Washington had SAS worker bees pulling what looked like most of their fancy coffee and tea down from the shelves and into carts – clearance marking will be done in-store starting tomorrow, but don’t know what the markdown will be. Someone from SAS was stacking pods on the clearance end cap, but didn’t see any price tags. Pita and I will stop by tomorrow after class because I’d like to stockpile at least a year – can’t see prices dropping or sizes increasing.
