Jewel/Tylenol Precise PSA

Stopped at Jewel this afternoon to check on my special order of Tylenol Precise; while there I picked up eight of the creams.  This was the first time I’d purchased them at Jewel – the rest were picked up at Walgreens.

The SCOT scanner couldn’t read the coupons because they’re the new goofy-looking codes.  Last time this happened, the customer service scanner worked fine, but this time – nothing.  The coupon would scan, but register zero – no beeps or anything.  If I weren’t the cheapest human on the planet and knew to the penny what I should be paying and if I had something in my order other than Tylenol Precise it would be very easy to walk out without getting your coupon credited.  Most people have only vague ideas of total.  And even a couponer, dealing with a cranky two-year-old and a headache might be forgiven for missing this.

So please, please, please, keep an eye on the coupons and alert the cashier to the potential problem.  Since the register gives no indication that the coupon is giving zero as a value, it’s  not likely a cashier would catch it.  Be alert!!!  i still don’t know how we’re all gonna handle the 200 products…maybe just a general grocery coupon entry?

Ore-Ida Easy Fries .25 each!

There is a catalina promo running at both Jewel and Dominicks, where buying two Ore-Ida products gets you a buck, three products earns you $2 and four or more gets a $3 cat.  They are triggering on the small 4.25 oz boxes of Easy Fries, which are on sale for 10/$10 at Jewel.

I bought “lots” in sets of four:  Pay $4.07 for the first set of four, get back $3 OYNO, which you roll into the next transaction, bringing your OOP to $1.07 for each set of FOUR.  I can’t be sure if this will still be working tomorrow, so if you like ’em, hit your nearest Jewel tonight.  If you’ve never had them before, they are remarkably like oven french fries, but only four minutes in the micro!  For a quarter, I’ll stock up…and did.

FREE Sunday Trib – update

Update:  Tim received a call from the Tribune that this coupon is only valid at Jewel/Osco stores.  Rightly or wrongly, I wouldn’t use it anywhere else on the off-chance that your store wouldn’t get reimbursed for it and you might burn that relationship.

Update:  Reader informs me that since this is a MANUFACTURER COUPON, it can be used at Menards, where the Sunday Trib is a buck anyway, so FREE papers for ALL!  I didn’t know that Menards took coupons with other stores’ names on them, even if they are manufacturer coupons (don’t shop there, but now there’s a reason!)

Reader sent in this $1 off Trib coupon at Jewel-Osco – expiration date March 31, 2012 – doesn’t Jewel sell these for $1.99?  This gives everyone an additional outlet for buying papers when the dollar stores get iffy.

Tylenol Precise coupons, et alia

Been exchanging emails with Dale-who-is-a-man, apparently (sorry) and the coupons from the 2/19 insert will be posted Monday evening –  We Clip U Save won’t post until they have actually clipped, verified and counted each coupon.  which is probably a good thing, now that i think about it.

So keep checking or sign up for the Twitter feed because as soon as I get the email, I’ll post with the link and prices and quantities available.

Don’t forget that you can still order as many of the Yo Crunch 29¢ coupons as you want from We Clip U Save for a nickel each – just buy your yogurt before the February 19th end of the cat promo at Jewel.

2/19 inserts – good coupons!

We are blessed with the $5/2 and $2 L’Oreal coupons this week.  Why blessed?  All the L’Oreal clearance hair colors from CVS, Wags and Jewel, of course!  Clip and keep these with you because I guarantee you’ll see these products on the clearance end caps.

And WE GOT THE Tylenol Precise coupons.  Until I actually see the paper, I can’t be certain.  The $5 has a one-week expiration date, folks, so your options are to either decide which store will get your coupons or…use your coupons at Walgreens and if you want more products, high-tail it over to Jewel and pick up as many as you want/need/order.  Pay and return within 60 days with the coupons you’ve ordered, been given or traded for.

Update on Yo Crunch coupons

Just got an email from We Clip U Save about Yo Crunch coupons.  She writes:

We just posted 600 more…………HOWEVER, we actually have around 10,000 POSSIBLE…………..in other words, we’ve GOT them ‘in hand’ but they haven’t yet been ‘pulled/sorted/clipped’ as we’ve simply been too swamped with this week’s activities.  BUT………..if you, or any of your specific readers/contacts/friends, etc.. will contact us, we’ll definitely ‘pull/clip/ship’any size special order needed for those, as otherwise, we didn’t realize there would be enough ‘demand’ to justify paying sorting staff to ‘pull/sort’ thousands more of them.
Hmmm, this puts a whole new light on the deal, doesn’t it?  The sale price goes through March 2, but that won’t help when the cat promo ends on the 19th!  If you contact We Clip U Save and place an order, you can buy up as much as you want of the Yo Crunch and then return within 60 days with the receipts and coupons to get your $2.90 per transaction returned.  I’d recommend using either a Jewel gift card or a credit card, since you’ll be paying off either of them within a week or two.  I’ve been eating a couple of the Oreo ones a day now – they’re tasty little suckers!  I’ll probably pick up another 30, since we’re going through them so quickly.

Jewel tripping – Yo Crunch for cheap

Update:  Question on the end sale of this 10/$6.  It’s March 18th.

I knew about this promo that started in January and went through February 19 (Sunday), but with the normal price of 99¢, it just wasn’t worth it, coupon or not.  Yesterday Jewel dropped the price on Yo Crunch to 10/$6, so with the 29¢ coupon from 2/5 S and the $1.50 OYNO when you buy 10+, you are paying, with tax, about 16¢ a carton.

I read on CW that the deal was working, but as a suspenders-and-belt type of Goddess, had to try it out.  Yes, it works and Lisle will have large quantities for Friday delivery.  Please give them a call if you plan to pick up any sizable quantity, because they don’t normally carry more than a few cases of each variety.  I checked We Clip U Save, and the clipping fee for the .29 coupon is 5¢, but they’re currently out of stock.  You can have them notify you when they come in or you can use Coupon Dede, who has the .58/2 coupons (other regions got this) in stock for 7¢.  Don’t forget that you can always buy them and then return within 60 days with your receipt and coupons and get your $$$ back.

Jewel tripping

Forgot all about posting this!  A reader contacted me about all the hair color and Febreze products on clearance at Jewel, so I pulled my trusty inserts and headed on over.  You see here two big bags full of L’Oreal hair colors, a case of Bush’s black beans (25¢ on the clearance cart) and six Febreze refills (50¢ on the clearance cart).  The hair colors were almost free, between the clearance price and the coupons and the Febreze were $3 MMs, which brought down the price of the beans.  Total OOP was $6.18, of which about $4.75 was high tax.

Jewel DiLusso PSA

Hey!  Don’t forget that today is the last day to use those wonderful BOGO store and $1 mfr coupons on the DiLusso deli items.  We picked up a few more items (they had the coupons on the deli counter still – I think they see me and fill up the box).

Also made sure to check out the clearance cart, where I found boxes of Kashi Heart to Heart instant oatmeal reduced to $1.50 and Bear Naked granola for $2.  I’ll hold on to the receipt in the hopes that an IP or insert coupon appears.  ‘Cause what’s better than clearance?  Clearance down to FREE!

PSA – Jewel Di Lusso deli

Remember, just because you don’t have all your $1 coupons doesn’t mean you can’t rock the Jewel deli sale.  Pick up all the weekly Jewel ads before they get tossed and buy as much lunch meat and cheese as you want (in 1/2 pound packs, of course) by the 8th.  Pay with the store BOGO coupon and keep the receipts.  You have 60 days to return with your coupons and receipts to claim your cash back.  Plenty of time to rustle up some coupons on eBay (I saw some buy it now for $1.99 for 20).

Since Di Lusso is a Hormel company, you should be able to find these coupons with various store names on them, although they will all be manufacturer coupons.  This should keep the supply large and prices low.
