EE $1 coupon expires tomorrow!

Kashi was clearance at $1.25, the Wild Harvest and Back to Nature granola packs were $2 and the rest was courtesy of that wonderful EE coupon.  The EE breads are $1.99 on sale – you can’t even get PP outlet bread for a buck.  I have lots more mustard in the bag (yellow is on sale for a buck) and about ten more cans of white kidney beans, which will be wonderful as the base for white chili (with our chicken sausage).  After all the coupons and $5 OYNOs, I paid out $1.50 from my Jewel gift card (the sunglass deal last week).

Jewel & ice cream cat alert

Stopped in for ice and walked out with a whole lot more – lets just say the EE “oreo” cookies rock.  seriously, dude, they did not make it all the way to the check out line.  I’ve been picking up different EE items using that $1 coupon, just to test the quality.  So far everything has been spot on.  I don’t know who’s taken over corporate management, but somehow they’ve gotten it right:  All the EE products are equal in quality to the branded products; the lower prices actually are; the fuel program beats the pants off of that stupid game pieces thing and there’s lots more people shopping.  which kinda sucks, you know?

Side note:  I got a catalina alert the other day, but lost it in my purse!  It says Get $4 when you buy 4 or more of the products listed in one transaction between 7/5 and 7/11.  Brands showing are Nestle, Edy’s Edy’s Slow Churned, Häagen Dazs and Skinny Cow.

Side note 2:  Today is the last day you can use Register Rewards to pay for your Jewel purchases.  Frankly, they don’t have anything good at Wags next week, so might as well burn them on stuff you wouldn’t normally buy…

Jewel rewards card

I signed up this week for the Jewel rewards card – only one!  Just checked my balance on the Shell fuel rewards site and I already have 90¢ off per gallon!  They have a scoreboard that shows the highest numbers and all of them paid a penny a gallon!

If you haven’t yet registered your card with the Shell fuel rewards network, do it now.  Then you’ll be able to see your real-time figures, unlike the register tapes that show you zip.

well-dressed PITAs are wearing

Told you that those $5 OYNO cats will be generating through tomorrow, but the BOGO sale ends today.   So for six razors and six shave gels I paid $2.71 (plus the 21¢ in coupons) and got back a FIVE.

Jewel shopping and razors PSA

Jewel EE $1 coupons expire on 7/4 – don’t miss out!  And next person who comments about mustard and boots gets stomped on with my Doc Martens.

The Gillette BOGO disposable razor sale ends today (29th) and it’s still printing out $5 OYNO cats for each set of six.   You can always run this deal without coupons, pay with a credit card and then return with coupons within the next 60 days.  I wouldn’t wait that long, obviously, ’cause you’d be stuck paying a huge credit card bill!.  Coupons are currently going for 7¢ each on WeClip because they expire tomorrow.  But they were valid on the date of purchase…  If you’re going the buy coupons route, don’t forget to pick up some of the FREE shave gel when you buy the razors coupns.

EE items for your $1 coupons

You note I said coupons, right?  This time I’m not taking chances on the books running out…or disappearing.   These EE mustards also come in honey Dijon, but we don’t like it, so it’s not in the picture.  Expiration dates are end of 2013 – but how can mustard go bad, huh?  Sale runs through the 15th of July, but the $1 EE coupon expires July 4th.  So far I’m liking everything in the EE line.  weird of me.

Rolling RRs into gift cards 101

Obviously this deal only makes economic sense if you have somehow *acquired* a bazillion dollars in RRs and $5 cats that are expiring (for the OYNOs) or won’t be accepted at Jewel after the end of June (RRs).

Each pair of sun glasses rings up for $24.99.  Use whatever combination of RRs and/or cats to get near to this amount.  Pay the balance and high tax and get your $15 Jewel gift card.  Run this deal as long as you want (well, assuming you don’t wipe them out of sun glasses), using the prior gift cards to pay the balance and tax.  Are these really $24.99 sunglasses?  Puhleez.  But if you can sell them for five bucks, you’ve improved your rate of return.  And since the $5 P&G cats didn’t cost anything to begin with, you’re actually coming out way ahead with a gift card that will not expire.  I use mine to pay for tax, ’cause you sure aren’t gonna see me paying for groceries!

Roll those RRs & cats into Jewel gift cards – update

Update:  This works perfectly!  Unfortunately, you can’t stack it, so each pair of sunglasses must be rung up separately.  One reader scored 39 pairs of sunglasses – and boy was that store glad to get rid of them (out of 40 pairs in the original display, only one had sold).  I’d suggest putting all the gift cards onto one or two ’cause having a large stack of $15 gift cards is just weird.  Although they would make awesome holiday gifts for teachers, mail carriers, etc.

Major credit to reader Ron, who spotted this one:  It only works through tomorrow, the 27th.

The Sunday Jewel/Osco ad has a three day sale on Major Polarized Sport Sunglasses for $24.99.  Buy one pair and get a $15 Jewel gift card.  So, my scenario would be to take those $5 cats from P&G razors and Bayer $10 RR and buy as many sunglasses as you can find.  These were not shipped to all stores, even though they are advertised, so unless you plan to shop anyway, I’d call ahead to check.  They were a one-time purchase by Osco, so you won’t be able to get a rain check on this deal.  Look for the cardboard display (about 3 ft high) – it holds about 50 pairs of sunglasses.

Jewel EE purchases

I’ve been stocking up on the EE items that Jewel is kind enough to give me for free.  Didn’t bother with a picture, but the $1 personal wash item works great with the $1 Softsoap pump bottles; the $1 EE frozen items can be used with the $2 sale waffles; the $1 hair care gets you the $1 Suave shampoo or conditioners…

Keep an eye out for the Skinny Cow shakes in the freezer section – lots of $2 ice cream store cats to pair with those BOGO cats that are printing like crazy!

New Jewel booklet

Here’s a shot of the newest Jewel booklet out:  fresh summertime FUN over $10 in savings…  The coupons aren’t too bad – have the ever-popular $1 EE coupon and a Stockman & Dakota one, so wait for a sale on those…  Lately Jewel seems more crowded – not sure whether or not I like it!
