Jewel EE coupons PSA

Don’t forget that the $1 Essential Everday coupons from the “Memorial Day” booklet expire tomorrow the 20th.   Here’s a look at what I picked up a short while ago…

The saltines were marked $2, but rang at $1, so basically, the only things I paid for were the buck extra on the cookies ($2 and we kinda had a taste-testing in the store…) and the Carl Buddig 2 oz packs.   Listen, I wasn’t crazy enough to go looking for more meat, since that great OM deal, but a 75¢ off two Carl Buddig 2 oz meats cat printed out and I remembered that they were marked 50¢.  For .25/2 I’ll bite.  Total OOP was $1.29.

There is a new coupon booklet called “fresh summertime FUN” with over $10 savings & recipes that is just now appearing in the stores.  GRAB AS MANY AS YOU CAN STUFF DOWN YOUR PANTS because there is another $1 EE store coupon that expires July 4.  I haven’t seen the booklet yet, but have heard from some of you who have.

Shopping with OPM

other people’s money, that is.  This is the stuff I pretty much got for free using $$/$$ store cats and $$ off produce/dairy/cereal store cats.  And yes, I paid something for the CC pizzas, but let’s face it, aren’t they the best pizzas you’ve ever had?

pay no attention to the girl...

Here’s PITA with the $5 OYNO cats generated by today’s Gillette Razors/shave gel purchases.  While you don’t need to rush out immediately, who knows how long they’ll pay us to take home products, right?

The Gillette BOGO $5 MM returns! Christmas came early!

I’d heard that the Gillette BOGO sale at Jewell/Osco had been extended and the $5 OYNO cat from P&G was generating! Well, just had to drive over to check it out.

Okay, the only razor that triggers the $5 OYNO is the GREEN pack as shown – the rest are “Danger Will Robinsons” for our purposes. Buy in sets of six which will generate a $5 for each $1.85 in high tax you spend. Buy as many of these coupons and the FREE Gillette shave gels (from 6/10 rp) as you can carry in – they are now on sale for $1.99, so less high tax to pay.

More free razors at Jewel – through 15th only!

The 5/13 P&G insert also has a BOGO coupon on the same Gillette disposable razors that are part of the Jewel/Osco BOGO sale.  Coupon scans for exactly the right amount and everything, so easy-peasy transaction, all in one.

Note that the BOGO sale only goes through the 15th.  Well, according to the shelf tag, it goes through Thursday, June 15th (which, I kinda think doesn’t exist).

Also, the $5 OYNO when you spend $20 on P&G items ended yesterday, the 13th.  The new promotion that started today is for a $10 OYNO when you spend $30 on selected P&G items – these razors are not part of the promotion, so don’t have a hissy fit when your cats don’t print, okay?  I mean, you’re still getting the suckers for free, right?  but then, we always want FREE³, right?

Disposable razors deal @ Jewel update

Pat yourselves all on the back, folks.  I’m getting reports of the sales generated from the Gillette disposable razors and shaving gel – they are incredible!  Sales at Lisle alone (from what you guys have told me) were well over $25,000!  Running the disposable razors in sets of eight (using four coupons) at one time generates the $5 OYNO cat.  So you’re paying about $1.82 in high tax (Lisle tax rate) and getting back eight razors, shave gels and $5!

Jewel razors & shave cream

Don’t forget that you can get one can of Gillette shaving gel for each bag of men’s razors you buy.  The shaving gel coupon says men’s razors, so don’t bother arguing with the cashier, customer service person or store director.  And I’m not saying anyone has argued, ’cause you’re all good little extreme couponers…

Just remember that every single one of these items is high tax…

More changes coming to Jewel

Another attention-grabbing headline, I know.  A new pricing change has been in the works for quite some time – Store Directors attended meetings in Minnesota a couple of weeks ago but since the store personnel have now been briefed, it’s okay to say more.

Starting this upcoming week, Jewel will be moving to a discount pricing policy on name brands – they are shooting for 10% higher than Walmart (which they can’t match because Jewel overhead is much higher) prices.  And Super-valu is serious this time because they’ve allocated (as in $$ already set aside) $250 million (that’s the figure I was quoted) to Jewel to implement these changes.  The actual changes are going to be set off in waves or rounds as it were, with the first ones beginning at Chef’s Kitchen, the deli section near it (like where the OM packs are sold,) and the Bake Shop.  These prices will be adjusted in time for next week’s sale beginning Thursday.  I believe the liquor department goes with these departments, but could be mistaken.

Second set of cuts will affect cold cereal, frozen foods and dairy, and are currently scheduled for that week-end.  Again, just because they have it scheduled, doesn’t mean they’ll be able to implement everything as scheduled.

Do I feel like this will work?  I’m torn between wanting to believe and wondering if it’s even possible.  As one management person remarked, they have to believe in this plan because otherwise, there won’t be a Jewel five years down the road.  And with that sentiment I heartily concur.

Jewel BOGO coupon policy PSA

Apparently there’s been a ton of communication to Jewel corporate about using a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale.  It’s always been allowed in the past and this has not changed!  And Jewel corporate has issued an email/memo to that effect (today, I think, but I get a little foggy on mortal dates…)

Jewel has the .55 coupons now

Dropped off the Philadelphia coupons – they’re on the shelf with the products.  I’d estimate that there were at least 25 cartons remaining; unfortunately, after handing out coupons to employees there were only 7 or 8 remaining.  But 99¢ is still a great price.

You see here seven of the cream cheese and one Suave shampoo in lavender.  Used seven mfr coupons and a $1 hair care store cat.  Paid with a $2 Goody RR (I rolled my Ecotrins) and $1.25.  So far today Jewel has gotten almost two bucks out of me!  Shameless!

Jewel pub tripping

Found five more Stockman & Dakota coupons, so since I had to head over to Jewel to place a special order for the Gillette razors, figured I’d run some of the store cats that seem to be spitting heavily out the cat machines.  You see here:

$2.50 off $25 purchase store cat was my first coupon used, since I was well over the $25 mark.
1 roll of Brawny using a FREE paper towel store cat.
3 bottles of EE catsup using $1 coupons
5 junior pub burgers using the $1 S&D coupons
2 homelife gallon freezer bags. They were $1.79 BOGO and I had a $1.50 store cat.
1 bottle Suave shampoo. $1 on sale and used $1 hair care store cat.
2 travel sized Crest toothpaste. Used two $1 oral care store cats.
1 bag Doritos. Used $1.50 chips/pretzels store cat.
4 bottles of clearance Equaline fish oil marked $2 each. Used 3 $2 and 1 $1.50 vitamin store cats.
6 bakery rolls. Used $1 off bakery products store cat.
1 bunch of organic bananas and two mangoes. I had a $1 off $4 in produce store cat.
1 package sesame hamburger buns.

After all coupons, the amount dropped to $2.65, so I used an Ecotrin $2 RR to get it down to 65¢, which I paid in change.  Register tape claims I only saved 97% – the bitch!
