Jewel for even cheaper avocados

Emails from readers (combined edition!):
“I paid 99c for this bunch of “spray roses” last week. They are 3/$15 when you buy 3 but $5.99 for 1 bunch. Today hubby used 3 coupons and got these for tax only! I split up 2 red and 1 pink into 3 bouquets (added oregano and tarragon from my yard) Am giving 2 away to neighbors!”
Love the oregano and tarragon greenery, don’t you? Very creative and so clever!
So far this year’s Flavor Adventure game has been pretty decent. Today when I completed all the lands, I planned on grabbing the $15 meat/seafood prize, but now it’s disappeared, as has the $15 personal care award. I took the $15 paper, because it was the highest award remaining. Don’t see anything in the official rules that limit awards to one per account – is there? Because we’re in week four now and that means I only have produce, bakery & deli to look forward to 🙂
So far this year’s Flavor Adventure game has been pretty decent. Today I won my first mini-game – $10 off my purchase. I had pretty much given up any hope of winning those, given the way the balls defy physics and those shuffle games make me crazy. Pita also got the one-year subscription to Fresh Pass, so both of us at least will get $5 freebies each month for the next 12 months.
Yup, only the third week of June and already Jewel is dumping their garden center inventory; it’s especially upsetting since they put up those centers long before it’s advisable to plant in Chicago, global-warming or not. I picked up lots of veggie plants on Saturday using two $5 Floral Department Flavor Adventure coupons and when I got another one last night I headed over to see what was still available. Not very much, as it turns out, but I took all the vegetable plants remaining (27) and paid $2.22. I’m pleased and boy are we gonna have – hopefully – some great meal additions.
Stopped in for the Saturday Sampler, those tiny potatoes and $1.99/lb cherries (very tasty!) and to see if Lisle had dropped their garden center prices – 75% off with a very healthy inventory. I got everything here for $11+ because the two $5 Floral Department coupons from Flavor Adventure took $10 off. Very pleased, but omg, these must have been crazy expensive before!
