Jewel: plant milks & drinkable peroxide

Not Lisle, so check your local Jewel for clearances on plant-based milks – obviously oat milk is cheaper with Jewel deals & a $5.99 Goodwill SoyaJoy machine, but almonds aren’t cheap enough to use. Finding these at such low prices meant Pita grabbed (and paid!!!) for them all the unsweetened/flavored ones she prefers. Dates were well out (some in 2025), lately a Jewel novelty.
Have you ever heard of drinking hydrogen peroxide?! I do not even want to Google it, but looks like it’s going bye-bye at Jewel.
Flavor Adventure ends 8/1/23
Been a nice ride so far on Jewel’s Flavor Adventure game. Last day is 8/1/23, so keep that sushi (or whatever token you’ve chosen) dancing every day until then. Last year I won the $10, $20, $30 and $40 cash prizes, but not the $50 one (Pita got it). This year I ran through all the lands and got two meat/seafood coupons before it crapped out. Also got the never-ending deli coupon (which ended when a customer service person took down my number & first name to notify Flavor Adventure – boo!); Pita got one, so we’ll see how long we can ride it – got sushi yesterday :). Oh, and both of us got a free year of Fresh Pass, so bonuses throughout the year.
Remember, $1 chips = free little cans of Pringles, $1 frozen was giving me .25 frozen Snicker bars (tasty!) & $1 spices meant free gravy packets. We have until the end of August to use them all, so let’s see what the future sales look like. Unless they have $1 potato salad, in which case I’ll need another fridge.
store tricks: they don’t know me, do they?
Stopped at a different Jewel today for something that was supposedly on the shelf – it wasn’t and had been OOS for over three weeks. According to this article in Coupons in the News, I would have then rolled through an aisle or two and picked up something else. I walked through the coffee aisle and saw they had more of this coffee marked down to $2, but rings up at $1.50. Way too flavored for us as-is, but mixed with 75% unflavored coffee it tastes great. Also picked up 2 Cheep Chicken bags with the never-ending $10 deli coupon. Am I going to hell for this? Probably, but at least I’ll know most of the inhabitants. See you there 🙂
Flavor Adventure & clearance coffee

Pita found the coffee in the regular coffee aisle, both varieties marked down to $2! When I checked out the 8 cans actually rang (after discounts) at $1.50. Mott’s was a freebie as was a tiny can of Pringles and the taco seasoning. I picked up 11 Nathan’s hot dogs as my contribution to a block party, but even though they rang as deli, the $10 deli coupon from Flavor Adventure didn’t come off – customer service refunded the amount plus tax to me. Total for everything was $13+ (subtracting the $10 deli), so I’m pleased.

Flavor Adventure coupon shopping

Quick run to Jewel to use a few Flavor Adventure coupons – I really don’t trust digital coupons to work in my favor since there have been too many times in the past when they disappeared. Gimme a paper coupon any day of the week! Bought two sale Puffs packs to use the $15 paper coupon, then Pringles and Cheez-Its with the $1 chips coupon, $1 spices coupon brought two seasoning packets into the fold and I threw in the frozen Snickers bar. OOP was about $6.50. I ran one chips and seasonings in a second transaction because I never know if more than one will work. I used three $5 floral coupons on clearance plants, but only one of the $1.50 pork tenderloin coupons came off when I bought two a few weeks ago. Better to be safe.
Oh, and the clearance cart was out – lots of empty space where 75% off coffee had been, while the rest was only 50% off, so easily passed 🙂

Flavor Adventure jizzles out
So this is what I got today when I completed the last land on Jewel’s Flavor Adventure game. They already cheated me out of a $10 bakery coupon when it “logged out” while I was clicking.

If you’re like me, those Saturday Nathan hot dogs are hard to resist – it’s cheaper to have them steam ’em and serve with the bun than taking the pack + buns home and cooking ’em. and so much lazier! This is a screenshot from the Jewel APP – – it doesn’t appear in the ad I got with today’s paper.
