Dominicks 4 free Purell

photo.JPG
Phone call this am from Rachel about this deal, so credit, love (but no cash) to her – almost makes up for her not getting the Nature Valley bars. i said almost

Dominicks has the Purell hand sanitizers (8 oz bottles) on sale for 99¢ – regular price is $3.49.  Use the $1 coupon in 7/28 S1 for FREE hand sanitizer (coupon exp. 9/22).  I hate sanitizers – the smell is disgusting, they dry out your hands and alcohol belongs in a glass with fruit.   But lots of people crave these, so I picked up a few for the food pantry – – only a few – – I’ll get the rest next week when another shipment arrives.  So don’t bother with 63rd, unless you just want rain checks.

Oh, and this sale is tagged through early September, but I’d definitely get rain checks, justincase.

there are no deals, cats are dead & other lies they tell you: Dominicks today

Tried these NV Oatmeal soft squares at BlogHer2013 and they were pretty tasty! This week Dominicks has them on an instant savings when you buy 4 boxes – it drops to $1.49 each (it’s a limit 4 deal [You can choose other varieties, but the coupons are only 50¢.])   Use the 75¢ coupon from 7/28 S 1 and pay $2.96.  Out pops a $2 OYNO cat!  If you buy less or more, the numbers won’t work as well (buy 3 get $1, buy 4 get $2, buy 5 get $3).  So buy one set, pay $2.96 and the next set is only 96¢ – with another $2 cat.

Egg-land’s eggs are only $2.49 when you add them to your card, limit 2 (while I still have a few of the FREE coupons, I’m saving them for times without sales).  I decided to use my BOGO Sobe coupons because Dominicks has the same BOGO sale as CVS will have next week with a larger variety (coconut water, anyone?).  The Egg-land’s eggs rang up at $3.59(!), so I got cash back at the service desk with no trouble.  PITA was upset that I wasn’t buying the more expensive organic eggs, but I showed her that these say vegetarian feed on them, so she was slightly mollified – well, as mollified as a teenager can ever be…

Dominicks for $2 rotesserie chicken

photo.JPG
While I love my Jewel, I love saving money even more. That’s why I loaded the $5 Friday/weekend rotisserie chicken onto my Dominicks card(s) and headed out with the $3 coupons. Old man cashier kept reading the coupon – not because he was looking for anything wrong, but because he wanted to know where they came from!  Coupons scanned without a beep or prompt of any sort.

Why so many chickens?  Well, at $2 a chicken, you’re talking main meal, lunch and leftovers into tacos, and noodle dishes featuring those Yakisoba freebies.  And on the slight chance there’s nothing left over, I can head back before Sunday night and grab more because this deal is unlimited.  Pick the meat out and freeze it for quick meals like soup and tacos when you’re running late.

Keep checking your clearance section salads by the deli section (cole slaw, etc.); I have two 55¢ unlimited coupons off Reser’s salads (one good into 2014) on my card(s).

Dominicks – $6.07!

photo.JPGBoy, do I ever hate spending money on groceries!  You see here 8 boxes of Eggos, 3 boxes of Fruttare bars and a can of beef stew and one of roast beef hash.  I had free coupons from BlogHer for the stew and hash, so ignore them and you can do the rest of the transaction easy-peasy, just like me (bill started at $44+):

Had the $5 off $15 frozen on my J4U and used the paper coupon $5 off $15 from the Thursday’s ad, $3/3 came off on my J4U for the Fruttare bars, less three $1 blinkies and four $1/2 Eggo coupons from today’s rp.  Paid $6.07 – 87% savings.

a shopping we will go – Dominicks & garage sales

photo.JPGStopped at Dominicks for the cereal, milk, fruit deal; the Imagine free soup deal and the pretty darned cheap Kraft Big Slice cheese. Oh, yeah, tossed in a bakery container of herb and cheese croissants for $5 – spending money like a drunken sailor over here!

Total was $16.95 for which I got the 4 boxes of Cocoa Crispies, 6 Imagine soups, 6 Kraft cheese, 1 Horizon organic milk, 3 mangos, large bunch of bananas and the croissants.  Fruit was pretty much free with the two $2 fruit coupons, the cereal was 3/$5 ($1.67 each), Kraft was 3/$5, so I got 6 and used 3 of the $1.50 printables, milk was free when I bought 4 cereals on my J4U and the cheese & herb croissants were $5 for a 15ct carton.  Still seems high, but that’s because I can never decipher the Dominicks’ receipts – you kind of have to put your trust in God and the cashier!  Here’s the Kelloggs printables again from an earlier post.  The Kraft or Cracker Barrel $1.50/2 coupon is near the cereal coupon, but for some reason I can’t pull it up now.

I’m heading back tomorrow for the Eggos because they’re on sale for 3/$6 and there are two discounts I can use together with the $1/2 coupon in tomorrow’s rp:  $5 off instantly with $15 frozen purchase on J4U and the same value paper coupon in last Thursday’s ad.  So let’s do the math:  Buy 8 boxes for $16, the $5 off frozen comes off instantly and then the $5 off frozen paper coupon and then four $1 coupons = $2.  Well, that would sure be sweet!!!!  We’ll see how it goes, but it’s supposed to work with both discounts.

I’d like to find some way to use the insert $3/3 coupon with the J4U $3/3 eCoupon on Fruttare or Magnum, etc. bars, but if they’re not on sale they’re crazy-high priced.  Any thoughts?

photo.JPGPicked up this Vera Bradley tote, hard glasses case and Euro waller for $5 – I only paid this much because it’s new and Jill had the mother of all Vera Bradley totes at BlogHer – I think she had a case of White Cloud and a pot-bellied pig in there…

sausage, rice, stew & juice for $3.03 – I hate paying for groceries!

photo.JPGHere’s the Ocean Spray juice deal and the way it works using two Dominicks:  The first Dominicks, in Woodridge, only had one flavor of juice, so I grabbed 6, the Dinty Moore beef stew for FIrstBorn and the Johnsonville sausage.  Used coupons on all and paid 21¢.

Stopped at the MUM Dominicks in Glen Ellyn for the other 6 bottles of juice – the Mango one – plus four boxes of rice.  Why the other stuff?  Well, I had the Spend $20 get $5 off on my card, and I needed something to eat up the overage; we sure need rice (flood rice just doesn’t taste right).  Kind of went crazy with that rice and bought four boxes using 3 35¢ peelies.  Total OOP was $2.82, which means my grand total OOP for the day was $3.03.

FREE Ocean Spray juice @ Dominicks – through Tuesday

downloadThrough tomorrow, Dominicks has Ocean Spray citrus 100% juice on sale for 99¢ – it’s not in the ad and I hadn’t personally run this, so I didn’t post earlier.  however – Rachel just grabbed a few so I’m giving you the heads-up now.  Wait, you say, where’s the FREE part come in?  There’s a $1 coupon in the 6/02 rp!  Stock up now on all the different varieties!

Note that the coupon says 64 oz; the company recently transitioned to 60 oz bottles. According to their Facebook page, this coupon is valid on the newer bottles.

Oreos & seltzer…you know the drill

photo.JPG

Last day of the Oreos for $2.05/2 with free water thrown in and I was certainly not gonna pass it up! DH came to help unload the car and yelled “Stop buying so much water! You have enough!” Uh, yeah, like I’m gonna turn down free sparkly water. Heck, I’ll sell the Oreos if I have to (but some little bird is telling me that’s not very likely!).  While I love my Jewel, I have to admit that Dominicks has the better clearance meat section:  The chicken kebobs were $2.50 a pound, the beef was $3 and they looked very healthy.

and yet more Oreos!

photo.JPGTotal this time around was only $5.41 because I used the $5 store cat from the earlier transaction.  A friend also picked up 20 packs of Oreos and 10 waters – my card is glowing!  Pretty soon I’m gonna have Safeway’s nutritionist calling me…

Free & almost-free shopping – hellllo, Oreo

photo.JPG

This week at Dominicks, Oreos are BOGO plus you get a free 12-pack of refreshe pop tossed in. I have an unlimited $2.80 Oreo on  my J4U, which makes the deal sweet (pun intended) – however, there’s a .75/2 coupon in 5/19 S1 which brings the price down to $2.05 for two packs of Oreos and a 12-pack (no beeping, which sometimes happens with coupons on BOGO deals). I picked flavored seltzer waters to counteract the Oreos. Found one coupon for the Ice Mountain and it was still at 2/$1 on my personalized price so free. Total for the ten packs of Oreos, 2 Ice Mountain 1L and five 12-packs shown here was $11.64 – – and when I paid I got a $5/$20 cat!  Which means I’ll be forced to buy more Oreos… oh, the sacrifices my ass I’m forced to make.

An alert reader caught this one:  Mini MET-Rx Minis are regularly priced 99¢ at CVS – use the no-size restriction $2/2 coupon from 6/2 rp for more free stuff.  The eight bars cost 14¢.  Your cashier will either mark down the coupon(s) or you’ll need other items to absorb that 2¢ coupon overage.  I was only picking up more HE shampoo and conditioner, so no overage there.  Note that the expiration date on this coupon is July 15.
